Good lock. Hard to twist. Holder is not secure.

I bought this lock like two months ago. This has been my experience with it.

*Its pretty strong. Of course any cable lock can be cut off with the right tool. You might find some individuals giving this product a bad review because they left their bikes locked with "only" this cable, and guess what? Their bikes were stolen. This lock is NOT supposed to be your main lock, you need a good U-lock, or if you want to go through all the hassle get a hefty chain lock, but please dont blame it on the product if you dont know the basic rules of locking a bicycle.

*The cable is very very very hard to twist. If you want to use it only to secure your front wheel to the frame its not such a big deal, but if youre trying to get it through the front wheel, frame, and back wheel I tell you right now that there will be blood. No matter how strong you are, this lock is pretty twisted, and thats the only natural shape that it seems to acknowledge.

*I used the lock a multitude of times since I bought it, mainly to lock the front wheel to the frame, and a few times as my main lock for short periods of time. But then something happened. See, the lock comes with a holder that you can install on the bike. I installed it on the seat post and it was pretty easy except that from the very beginning it felt flimsy. I would clip the rolled up cable onto it, but if I felt that if something hit the cable it would be knocked out of position and fell of the holder. Well, apparently that or something very similar happened because I lost my cable lock like 5 days ago. I have try to look at the evidence and thats the only possible explanation I can come up with. I went to school in the morning and locked with my u-lock and the cable. I went back to where the bike was parked after the class was over, I put my u-lock and messenger bag on my rear rack as I always do, and clipped the cable lock onto the holder. I got home and hours after I realized that I didnt have the lock, and after looking everywhere in my room, which is the only part of the house where I actually am most of the time I can say that its definitely not here, or anywhere else in my small apartment. I think it probably fell off the bike while I was riding.

I dont like to be unfair, thats why I gave the product a 4. Its not so bad, just bear in mind the things I mentioned in my review, and for Gods sake, no matter what cable lock you choose, remember that unless you live in a part of the country where folks are really really realle honest, you NEED an u-lock.

Lock against honest people

Pros: Looks solid for a cable lock. Fairly light. Combination, so no keys to lug around. Attaches well to bike.

Cons: Lost my $[...] bike thanks to it (my bad, Ill admit, for using such a crummy lock). No good in an area with professional bike thieves. Only works to prevent people from "borrowing" your cheap bike for a quick ride somewhere.

Really impressed with the quality

As many have observed, locks are to keep normally honest people honest. With that said, these are really well built and a terrific deal for the price. I recommend them without any hesitation. I like the bicycle mount because it provides a convenient place to keep the cable lock when it is not in use, but makes it very accessible and untangled for immediate use.

Very Good Combo Lock

This combo lock works very well, I would have given it 5 - stars except for the mounting bracket. As some other reviews have said, it does not fit well on the frame of my bike. If I attempt to use the bracket without the included insert, it slips down the frame. If I use the insert, the bracket is separated to far apart to use the brackets screws. No problem, I just wrap it around the seat and frame post.

Clipped, and bike stolen within 2 weeks

The lock is easy to use, and seemed to offer protection, but after only two weeks of use, the Knox lock was quickly clipped, and my bike was stolen from the FRONT of my school, with tons of people around. Get a U-lock people (basic ones at Home Depot for around $14)!

A problem

I have a problem with the cable, when i bought it i changed the combination and i cant remenber the new one so i want to know if i can change de combination again and how i can do this

I wasted gas & time shopping WalMart, Meijers, & Target .I had to return the ones I thought looked good for different reasons.BOTTOM LINE- This is the best built bike cable/lock I could find anywhere.Spend more at a speacialty store if you like but the only difference will be the much higher price.Go to locol department stores if you like .Youll find out ,like I did, that each one has its bad design.

unbendable

This lock seems quite sturdy and the only reason I did not 5 star it is because it is larger than I wanted in total size but not length the 6 foot length is perfect but it will not fit well in a cargo pocket and is bulky and hard to unfurl. The lock comes with a sturdy bike mount for travel which is nice. I think it will keep a bike safe but if you have to use it ten times a day it might start to wear on the nerves fighting it each use. It is thick and rubber coated and the re-settable combination lock is awesome. Mostly a 5 star product just a bit too big and stiff for me.

Great lock

I like combination locks because I dont like having to mess with a key. This is my favorite combo lock for a bike. It is heavy duty and easy to use.

The only negative is the holder that allows you to carry the lock on your bike frame wasnt so easy to use. It was difficult to get the lock on and off. So, I just throw it in my bag, or throw it over the top tube on short commutes. It stays put and doesnt bang up my paint job.

Nice Price for a Good Combo Lock

Well Got this lock a couple says ago and so far I am very impressed. The lock is quite thick and doesnt really weigh as much as others said. It is very easy/fast to install onto your bike and gets the job done for a cheap price. There are some P/C which I will list below

|The Wire is kind of annoying to untangle so you can tie it up to
fences/posts/bike racks
|When you install the last digit it kind of tough to turn but it still
works

There it goes this is an excellent lock and I would recommend it anybody who doesnt wanna pay 30+ dollars for a decent combination lock such as this. You really are getting a great deal when you purchase this lock because the security is outstanding for the price as it is now. This company also has very fast shipping via Standard (took me 2 days to receive) Now if you are in a extremely dangerous neighborhood well then I really dont know what to say.

easy to use (lock, unlock and reset combination). lock and cable seems very strong. long enough for two bikes together.

This lock was easy to mount on the bike and seems to be very strong. In fact the cable is so heavy that you have to wrestle it in place around your bike. I wouldnt recommend it for kids. Also, when mounted in the lock holder, the leftmost tumbler wont turn - not a big issue, but annoying.

Can attach the lock to bicycle so children wont loose it and you can set the combination to comething they will not forget.
