![]() Blackburn Mars 2.0 Flasher Rear Bicycle Light By: Blackburn Average Rating: 4.5 Total Reviews: 17 More Information Good bright rack light Blackburn Mars 2.0 Flasher Rear Bicycle Light I commute by bicycle 12 months a year. I carry panniers and a bag that sits on top of my rear rack. Most rear bicycle lights are designed to mount on the seatpost and do not come with mounting hardware that permits easy mounting of the light on a rear rack. The top bag I use would block the view of seatpost mounted light. I wanted a light which would mount to a L bracket bolted to the rack. The Blackburn Mars 2.0 is one of few that can be so mounted without lots of jerry-rigging. Strengths: The Blackburn Mars 2.0 is lightweight, bright, enjoys long battery life and has several flashing patterns. Drawbacks: The on/off button is hard to use with gloves on and mounting to the L Bracket and dismounting from the L Bracket is a little tricky, depending on your L bracket. There is a black plastic clamp on the back that you may have to shave off a little to get your L bracket between it and the light for mounting. Still, it is the only light I have found that mounts this easily on an L Bracket. I recommend it to all who bicyclist who use a rear rack and trunk bag. Nice big bright taillight Summary: High-quality construction and very bright red LEDs help ensure visibility, all at a very nice price. Pros: Sturdy design with rubber rim and rubber gaskets around screwholes. 4 *very* bright red LEDs facing back are the primary lights; 2 less-bright yellow LEDs facing outward on the sides provide side visibility. The steady, flash, and chase modes provide a good variety of lighting modes, and the belt clip and tube mount each provide secure mounting. Alkaline batteries are supplied in package. Cons: Must fully unscrew thumbscrew in order to release light from bike when tube mounted. Belt clip *must* remain installed, as otherwise 2 of the 4 main screws securing the case closed are too long to be fully tightened. 3 of the 4 main screws needed to change batteries are tiny and need to be tightened carefully to avoid damaging the plastic case or screw. Overall: This would be a 5-star bargain if only the light could be clipped in/out of the tube mount. That minor defect and the tininess of 3 of the case screws lead me to rate it at 4.5 stars. Blackburn Mars 2.o Flasher Rear Bicycle Light I ordered this product and the headlight at the same time for my new road bicycle. I have been very impressed with features and durability of this product. It has three modes of operation, like the headlight and has been performing an excellent job of keeping me safe, when I ride my bicycle at night hours. It helps makes me more visible to motorists, which is a big plus in keeping one safe on the road. Crazy bright light, easy to install I really like this product thus far, because installation was simple, the quality seems good, and the light is very visible when youre on the road. The only issue I see is when it is time to recharge the batteries, because there are a few screws to remove, but it will be a minor inconvenience. Very Happy Great product, very bright and highly visible. This flasher also has 2 amber L.E.D.s on the back side for added visibility wich are not included in the product description. Great value. Wild light Great light! Should be really easy to see. i only use it during the summer, so I think it shoudl last a while on flashing. Wild light Great light! Should be really easy to see. i only use it during the summer, so I think it shoudl last a while on flashing. Awesome! If someone hits you while you have this Flasher going on your bike....well, then they were trying to hit you. Super bright and has three different options (steady, flashing, and fancy flashing). Throws lots of light A great device, throws lots of light. Required more assembly than it ought to. A minor complaint, but I also got the Blackburn front light which is bigger and has more lights, and IT didnt need assembly... Easy to install on the bike. Excellent Product!! I am very impressed with this product......very easy to install and clearly visible even during day time. Has three settings to pick from and i prefer the blinking one....keeps me safe while biking at night. I highly recommend getting this Light for your bike. Brite I dont think you can beat this for the money. I like to take my dog jogging at night and this REALY stands out. If a car hits you while this is running they were TRYING to hit you. Because they couldnt NOT see you! Excellent bike light This is a great bike light for the money. Its easy to install and has 3 different flash modes, including a still light. It runs on AAA batteries, but it doesnt use much power so the battery lasts a long time. The only difficult thing is replacing the battery (which you rarely have to do). You have to remove the light from your bike and unscrew 3 small screws. However considering the quality and durability its worth it. Excellent bike light This is a great bike light for the money. Large lighting surface!-superior lens construction simmiler to a motorcycle or automotive lens! Large durable mounting bracket with a universal fit. Rubber gasketing and rubber encased switch provide supreme resistants to the elements. Steady mode is the brightest tillight ever!!! Flash mode visibility rivals bike lights costing three times as much!!! Only small flaw to this supreme lamp is the rear cover (housing) seems to crack around some of the screw holes. Screws are plain steel instead of stainless steel. Dont let this small defect deprive you from owning one of the best bicycle taillights ever made! Very Bright, Cool Design While I eventually went with the Mars 3.0 because its a little bit brighter and has a bit wider viewing angle, I prefer the look of this taillight. It has side amber LEDs, which is often not mentioned in the description. The mount is a standard seat post mount with an up/down pivot (screw). With the belt clip removed it can mount to the standard reflector mount (one circular post and one bolt/screw). It is a very nice product. Alright light It is a big and bright light that turns on easily with a rubberized switch. In addition to solid on, there are two flashing patterns. The battery life is amazingly long when you stick with the flashing modes. However, when you do have to change the battery, youll be removing some screws to open the cover. If you ride on salty roads, youll also discover that the hardware isnt stainless. The screws on mine became pretty rusty over one winter. Design Flaw This is a good light except that the back plastic cover, which is held on with screws, cracks very easily. The first light I bought I had to return to the store immediately because of cracks right out of the box. Now, 2 weeks later, I can see that cracks are appearing on the replacement they gave me. Excellent Light This bicycle lights beats the other two Ive had hands down. I love the button on top of the unit that allows me to just reach down and power it on. I sometimes forget to power it on before I leave and now I dont have to pull over. The brightness of the unit is also quite good, I love the three patterns although I do stick to the flashing pattern. Highly recommend this light. Awesome and Easy The Blackburn Mars 2.0 Flasher light is really cool. It was easy to install and when riding it is easy to reach the ON button while riding. This light is great if you want to optimize your safety while riding and the three flash modes makes it unique. My favorite flash mode is the third, which has random lights blinking. It is a fun and safe product for your bike. I would definitely recommend this to anyone. Awesome and Easy The Blackburn Mars 2.0 Flasher light is really cool.
