great mirror     On: 2010-01-30

It took me awhile to get a mirror for my bike, but Im pretty happy about this product. It wasnt easy finding something that would work. I have bar ends on my flat bar street bike so I couldnt use a mirrors that "plug" into the end of the bar. thats the design that you see most often in the market. This mirror is simple to place anywhere on the bar and attaches with velcro. I realized another advantage recently when I took my bike into service. It was simple to detach the mirror and put it on my mountain bike, which Ill ride for a few weeks until the other one is repaired. If the manufacturer is reading this, it would be great if the mirror could also pivot to a 90 degree angle. it would give me more attachment locations e.g. downtube, fork, drops on road bike etc.
Great Solution for a Safer Ride     On: 2009-12-05

Mirror is perfect for all my needs. Wide view of what is going on behind me. Easy to take off for storage. Compact enough to take with me when traveling and plan to use rental bike. Greatly appreciate being able to switch it to the other side of the bike when using left side of road (e.g., England, Ireland). Surprisingly adaptable to different handlebar shapes. Product description should say and show that mirror includes a velcro strap to attach it to the bike handle. I bought it on faith that one did. Other reviewers have said its wobbly or falls off. The one time mine got wobbly, I simply kept turning the mirror around towards the front of the bike until it tightened up; no problems with wobbling since. As to falling off, Ive never had that problem in 15 years: maybe their velcro strap was worn out or not wrapped tightly enough. Not only have two of these mirrors for my own use; have also bought 4 others and given them as gifts.

At last I found a bar-end mirror for my hybrid bike that works! I have always had good lick with Blackburn bike products. The velcro strap holds tight but lets you take it off easily, unlike mirrors that replace the bar-end plug.
Great mirror     On: 2009-08-20

Very versatile mirror. I have bought 4 now (will buy another soon - we lost one on a bike tour in Scotland). The mirror attaches quickly and securely (barring operator malfunction - see "lost one on a bike tour..." above). The picture is steady (ie. doesnt vibrate wildly like some of the cheaper ones out there). I LOVE the oval mirror, as opposed to a round mirror - the view is wider which shows more of the traffic coming from behind.... I use these on both my mountain and road bikes.
Great Mirror for you Bike     On: 2009-03-17

Bought one of these locally to try it out and paid full price, after my kids complained their handlebar mount mirrors on their new bikes were obscured by their body and did not give a clear view.

After trying out the Blackburn on several bike rides to see how it performed, I ordered 4 more for my kids and spouse to use on their bikes. Everyone actually tried out the first one and liked it. Depending on your grip, our bikes have ergo type, it should be secure.

I tried it on a pavement ride and a bumpy off road trail and the mirror stayed in position for the most part. Instead of putting a hole in my grip this strap on with velcro worked out fine. I remove it when off the bike. It is also useful to take on a trip if you rent bikes.

I had a handle bar mount Mirrycle on the grip end on my former bike and it broke when the bike got knocked over while unattended. It was too costly to continually replace the parts as the Mirrycle is glass.

Also the view is wide like a US autos righthand side mirror and you can watch you kids behind you as well as the approaching traffic.

Dont waste your money on standard bike mirrors as they are really useless and dont give a good view. A wide view mirror works best mounted on your grip end, whether permanent or removable as is this Blackburn.
Buying a second one     On: 2008-10-24

Blackburn Mountain Bike Mirror - It also comes with a velcro strap so it can be fastened tightly to the bike. I put mine verticle so its inline with my handlebar extensions - opposed to making the bike wider so its more convenient when going thru my apartment building doors and in the small elevator. Worth the $16 dollar investment, especially if you ride on city streets
The Price is Right     On: 2007-07-24

It takes a bit of adjusting but once it is on tight, it generally stays on. Every now and again, I have to re-adjust the mirror but it beats destroying my grip for a permament mirror that I really dont need. The price is right and the product basically does what it should.
