great helmet, love the design

So far, I love this helmet. I spent a good deal of time shopping for a helmet that not only fit well, but didnt look to bad either. I havent had a single problem with it yet and I dont forsee having one anytime in the near future. I would definitely recommend this helmet to others.

Saved my coconut once already

This is my second Giro Indicator helmet. I was wearing the first one when I had a crash while rollerblading downhill. I fell backwards, and the back of my head smacked hard into the pavement. Without a helmet, I would have been lying unconscious in the travel lane of a state highway. With the helmet, I had no head injury.

I replaced that Giro Indicator by a Specialized AirForce helmet. It didnt fit me nearly as well as the Giro, so I decided to pitch the Specialized and buy another Giro Indicator. It fits me perfectly.

Doesn't fit quite well

The straps that go around the chin do not lay flat like they were supposed to. Other than that it is a great helmet.

Easy to adjust but straps do not lay flat

The helmet fits well and is easy enough to adjust. I have very long hair (down to my thighs) and with this helmet I am able to pull my braid through the lowest back strap, which both stabilizes the helmet and serves to keep my hair off of my neck, so I stay cool. However, many of the plastic straps have sharp edges which catch on and damage my hair, and I cannot get the nylon straps which run alongside the side of my jaw to lay flat - they twist and are annoying. Next time I will spend the $10 more and get something comfortable.

This helmet is perfect - its light, great color and fits snug. It comes with several cushions already in the insider layer, but if you want to add more there are extra cushions in the box. I would definitely recommend this product for anyone looking for a great looking, light, and comfortable helmet.

SURVIVED CRASH

I bought this helmet last September. Excellent fit, very comfortable, light, and good ventilation. Its protection ability was tested yesterday when I hit a curb wrong and went flying - cracked the helmet & recieved 16 stiches to my eye but no concusion or other head injury... which really surprised the emergency room doctor. Im buying the exact same model today as my replacement.

Great Helmet - Good Fit - Excellent Value

I bought this to replace my aging helmet and was very happy when I got it. The helmet has a nice adjustable headband (the ratcheting style) and includes extra padding to make it fit like you like. It is very light and the quality seems high. I have done a few rides this spring and been very pleased - a sign of a good helmet for me is when I get home and dont really remember having worn the helmet. And for the price - I think this is a great value.

Good Protection

When you are looking for a Bike helmet you have to be sure it fits very well and one of the most important think is that it has to provide good protection. Giro has a very good reputation in helmets,is the "same" of BELL helmets, you can see it in the manufacturer sticker inside BELL is the owner of the brand.
It has the OK of ANSI that is the other important think you have to check.

The diference betwen helmets and their prices is almost always the weight and the ventilation they have

If you are looking for a VERY GOOD AND CHEAP helmet this is the choice, I have no complains about it, OK just one, it doesnt have any reflective logo or sticker.

I have to be honest at first I was a little worried and had to think it over for a couple of days before making up my mind and eventually placing an order with Amazon . I had not tried it on and had not even seen the darn thing, but after reading a couple reviews I was sold. I had searched for other similar cycling helmets online but I knew I wanted a Gyro helmet and you know those things are not cheap. So I went with my gut feeling and when I finally receive my helmet I must say I was impressed. I was looking for something that looked good but had the right fit. This helmet was a perfect buy, not only was it great looking but also had an adjustable mechanism that is not described on Amazon which allows you to adjust with a few clicks on the back of the helmet the circumference of the harness within the shell. I would normally not wear a helmet on my bike but I like wearing one now. And dont forget the price, unmatched by any other. I would highly recommend this cycling helmet to anyone.

nice design

i like the helmet nice shape and all. my only problem is that it says universal fit on the web site. then when you get it home the paper work says universal fit between 2 sizes. for products like these Amazon should start posting a like to read the users manual, so that we do not have to rely on the company advertisement to see if the product is what we are looking for.

Light, solid, adjustable and cool

Finding the right fit (online) was something of a mystery to me, outside of finding a tape measure to put on my head. So I crossed my fingers and went with a universal fit.

I got a couple of these for myself and my wife. They let through a good amount of air (to keep your head cool), they fit well using the adjustable straps (for front-to-back fit, as well as chin to crown).

Design and construction are both great.

The cheapo helmets that I was looking at at local retail stores were gigantic on my head (super thick) and I looked like a kid riding his bike in a cereal commercial or something. This has a much better low profile design and it includes several extra cushioning pads that you can place where you want to inside the helmet. Very good purchase!

This helmet literally saved my life

This helmet performed perfectly during a recent bike accident. I went over the handlebars due to a front tire lockup. This happened so quickly I did not have time to react (ie. attempt to break my fall). Luckily I had my Giro Indicator on when I landed on my head! The shell was scuffed up however it was not cracked. The styrofoam absorbed the impact and did break up as you would expect. Even though I suffered multiple injuries (fractured clavicle, road rash, bruising, etc) I did not even have a headache after the crash.
This helmet works. Thank you Giro.

Great helmet

Good helmet. Fits great, looks great. Bought it today in the local store for $40, thinking that if I find the same helmet sufficiently cheaper on the Net I can return it. But for $4 price difference Id rather support local guys...

Good price for a quality helmet

I bought this helmet to go with my newly acquired [used] bike and although the style for my age [20] is to not wear a helmet, it feels good knowing that just in case, Im protected. The helmet fits great with the easy to use tension dial in the back of the helmet--just rotate it get a snug fit.

No problems with the helmet at all. Its light so its easy to carry the visor looks great.

It should fit to any head size. If you dont want to spent a lot a money, this a good product for the price. I havent found any cons.

Solid and Attractive Product

Get this helmet for a great price at Amazon, rather than spending the same (or more) money for the off-the rack Brand X at the local department store. The fit was a bit snug, but Ive got an ample-sized head. And true to Giros word the helmet is very adjustable. Great variety of colors makes means that your helmet wont look like everyone elses; youll look cool.

Was looking for a biking helmet after purchasing a new Trek 1500 this weekend and wasnt sure what I was looking for..

I went to Giros website and read up on the company and its history and thought I would try to see if I could find an "affordable" helmet thinking that these helmets were more "high end" and that most likely I would end up with a "cheaper" line but I was pleasantly surprised when I ran across one of these at a specialty bike shop for only $35! I tried it on and with the help of a wonderful sales person in the store had it adjusted to my head! The color I chose was white and found the fit and comfort of the helmet to be very good! So...I plunked down my $35 and tried it out that afternoon and love the feel and look! So for those of you looking for a name brand helmet at an affordable cost you cant go wrong with this line! Very pleased with my choice!

It's Giro or Nothing...

Well, I just love these giro helmets. They meet my biking needs entirely and I can say that with pride since this is the third helmet Ive bought from Giro. More bang for the buck. Giro is surely the way to go.
