Kent "The Bike Club" Ultra Bike Lock Great have not had a problem with it at all. Solid lock you would need a torch to open it.
Not Good for mountain bikes     On: 2008-04-17

I have a mountain bike with bolt on front wheel and I needed a lock to secure my bike when Im in downtown Philadelphia. This Lock is really heavy and sturdy but does not expand enough to include the frame and front wheel of a typical mountain bike. I have to use it along with a chain.

All in all, it is a nice sturdy lock and comes with $1000 theft insurance (except in NY). All you need to do is fill up a couple of registration forms.
Awesome little lock     On: 2008-03-25

I ordered this because I was a little weary of a normal U-lock because I really wanted something to be adjustable. Any site you look up will tell you that you should "fill in" your lock with as much of your frame as possible so no one can put in a mini jack and break your lock fairly easily. This lock does that job perfectly because once you unlock it and separate the two pieces, you wrap the lock on whatever you think is most stable and secure and push together the two pieces as much as you can (there are multiple grooves so it "ratchets" in as tight as you need.

Three "European-cut" keys are included and the feature I really like about these are that it doesnt matter which way you put in the key because either way unlocks it. So you dont have to worry too much about fumbling with your keys which makes for a quick unlock.

It weighs just a hair under 3 pounds so not really all too heavy but appears to be very solid. It is 4 3/4 inches wide and at its smallest length it is 6 inches long. At its longest it is 9 1/2 inches wide and as previously mentioned, there are multiple grooves so you can pretty much adjust it to any length in between.

Im really please with this fairly inexpensive but well built lock and would recommend it to anyone. I use this in conjunction with a cable lock to give me extra peace of mind but you can decide if this alone provides sufficient security.

The bad? Mine was clearly used when I got it with tape holding it together. As a result, I only received two keys and the mounting bracket was not included as it states on the package and the picture that it should. But this is just my experience and I cant hold this against the product. However, I cant comment on the mounting bracket because I obviously dont have one but it fits nicely around the handlebars.

So if you are looking at a lock and dont want to spend much, I would seriously consider this over a basic U-lock but as everyone would be quick to tell you - If someone wants your bike, theyre going to get it.
Great bike lock     On: 2007-11-14

Great bike lock. Very durable and I think is just about theft proof. The specialized key makes this such an easy lock and versatile.

Okay, but not long enough     On: 2007-09-23

This lock is nice because it is compact enough to fit in my handlebar bag, but it doesnt expand enough (in my humble opinion) to be effective without supplemental chain or whatnot.

The keys are easy to use. The lock is pretty heavy (but you want it to be safe, right?)
