Works well but could be better.     On: 2008-06-30

The Journey Disk rack is made not to interfere with the rear disk brake assembly. It works quite nicely, but it could be improved by having the factory make the adjustable support rod 20 mmm longer. This would make it possible to have it attach to the mounting hole on the frame instead of the disk brake tab.
Well built, but doesn't fit my bike.     On: 2008-06-16

Okay, this is partially because Im a doofus, and partially a design thing. But I could not make this rack sufficiently sturdy on my bicycle (08 Jamis Coda Elite 17.5"). The bike doesnt have a right side rack braze-on. Axiom provide a cheap clamp to use in this case (I guess thats what its for, there were no instructions included). But even so, the geometry was all wrong. If you have a larger frame it might work in the no-right-braze-on mode.

Im disappointed by this, because the rack seems very very well made. If it will fit your bike, more power to you, because it seems like a great rack. But I rated it 3 stars for it not fitting, and for the lack of installation instructions.
Edit: I made it fit, but. . . .     On: 2008-06-16

I initially rated this 3 stars because I couldnt make it fit on my bike with the parts supplied. I bought a 2.00 clamp from my LBS and now it fits just fine. However, the way the adjustable clamp is supplied on the left side of the rack interferes with panniers. So I had to reverse it, which then causes interference with the disc brake cable. So for me it required a certain amount of engineering to fit. Partly issues with my bike lacking a right side eyelet, and partly the bad placement of the left side adjustable arm thing. It should include mounting instructions because there is a definite order of operations in getting it to fit.

Mounting issues aside, the rack is well built and sturdy, and Im glad that I chose it, overall. I would probably up my rating to a 4 if I could.
Sturdy rack, adjustable, easy to mount     On: 2008-06-03

I am very pleased with this rack; I received it three weeks ago and have since been riding with no problems yet.
There may be some difficulties if you are not hardware-savvy, because there are no instructions included. I, for one, had no problems installing the rack. The rack comes with many options and adjustable parts, for which I am very thankful. Because of the size of my bike (a smaller-framed womens mountain bike), the front bars would not reach the holes in my bike. Fortunately, the rack comes with a clip that fastens around the seat post, and the rack fit on the bike fine.
One problem that I had was that the bars are a little thicker than most racks, so I had some trouble mounting my Wald Rear Folding Grocery Racks. But a trip to the hardware store and some longer screws easily solved the problem.
This very sturdy, high quality rack is well worth the price.
Strong, intelligent design with lifetime warranty, to boot...     On: 2008-03-08

I bought this puppy after days of hardcore research. What finally attracted me to this one was the lifetime (limited - of course) warranty and the fact that the Axiom website claims it can take up to 154 pounds (70kgs) of shat - thats like a person!! Now I know how the Amsterdamers do it:) That coupled with the fact that there were two other perfect reviews AND that it was a little under thirty sinched it for me. I am acquiring a Cannondale Adventure 1 in April and if there are any troubles hooking this load-bearer up I will be sure to inform you.

One other thing: I bought directly from the vendors site because I was buying more than one item and, from the looks of it, it seems as though shipping is more fair that way... sorry Amazon:(
Solid and reliable bicycle rear rack     On: 2007-03-15

I have had other bikes with a rack on it, but none compare with this one. It is well made, strong and lightweight. It allows for many options for fitting on quite a few models of bikes. Excellent product and price.
