Extremely uncomfortable

I replaced this seat for the original one on my Schwinn Airdyne. Used it two days and had to go back to the original seat as it was extremely uncomfortable.

This is about the best product I have experienced as far as bicycle seat comfort goes, but I can only compare it to what came on the bike (ugh) and the Bell GelTech Ultimate Comfort Bicycle Seat, which was only slightly better than the factory installed seat and not very well made. This one is much better, but dont think it will give you the level of comfort you get on your comfy sofa at home (you are on a bicycle, after all), because you will be disappointed. However, considering you are indeed bouncing along on a bike and the area where you place your derriÃ¨re has to be reasonably proportioned, this Schwinn Pillow Top is a good choice. You can definitely feel some cushion and it seems to be well made. I have only taken one fairly long ride on it and when I got off the bike that particular area of my physique still knew full well I had been on a bike for a while, but I did experience a noticeable improvement comfort-wise as compared to prior trips of similar duration. I fully beleive this one is about as good as it gets.

Utterly atrocious

I purchased one of these seats and in less than three weeks it began to slip out of position and became impossible to secure. Upon inspection, I found that the clamps holding the seat to the post had been worn down to nubs. Clearly an inferior product. Do yourself a favor and spend the money for a well-made seat.

Great product

Im a plus size female and I bought this seat to replace the factory seat on my old bike so I could start riding again. Its soooo much more comfortable now.

Great value and comfort

I bought this to replace the stock seat on a Citizen folding bike. The seat that comes with those things isnt much more than a padded wooden banana.

With respect to another reviewer, I dont think ANY bicycle seat is as comfortable as sitting in a chair at home, but for the price, this is a great value. The padding is in the right place, wide enough to support the average bike rider, and I had no trouble snugging it to the post.

If you get a folding bike, or any inexpensive store-brand bike for that matter Id automatically order this as a replacement on the same day.

The Least-Uncomfortable Seat Yet!

Ive replaced the seat on my bike five (5) times now, without sufficiently reducing the level of agony to make a bicycling trip of more than several miles possible.

This is the least-uncomfortable "comfort seat" Ive tried, by a substantial margin -- though personal fit makes a great deal of difference and what works for me may not for you.

This seat has actual springs rather than elastomer pads (or nothing), but it looks as though the mounting bosses to which the springs attach to the seat are a bit fragile. It will help a lot if the springs are loosened and rotated so that their contact points are at the more sturdy backs of these bosses. This remounting is easily done by the user prior to installation and should keep the springs safely attached even with heavier users.

Nice and comfortable!

I got one and expected it to be somewhat softer, however it provides great support. It is nice and wide and gives in when needed, like on hard trails.
I would like to try some of the gel saddles but this is a great improvement to the standard seat that came with my bike.

Cushionalicious

I bought this to replace a surprisingly uncomfortable gel seat, and I love it. Its wider and more comfortable than many seats out there, and it was easy to install. It should be noted, though, that it makes you sit up higher (as if sitting on . . . pillows?), so youll have to adjust your seat stem accordingly.

Bike riding no longer a "pain in the rear"

My husband and I wanted to start riding bikes to try to get back into shape. The seats that were on the bikes were so small and hard they made the experience less than enjoyable. After putting these seats on the bikes it is a pleasure to ride again.

Comfy!

My pet peeve is a small seat and the acompanying female torture of the same. This seat is perfect - not too small, soft and bouncy and reasonably priced! A must for any female or even male! Buy it when you buy a bike as I did. Well worth the price!

I bike frequently, everywhere. I have no car; I am a college student. I bike to classes, I bike anywhere from 2-10 miles any given day! Sometimes more if I feel like it. I used to hate the bike seat because I never replaced the seat my bike came with, and ever since Ive purchased this I have really forgotten about bike seat pain. No longer does it play a factor in how long I can bike. Highly recommended, buy this bike seat!

This was so nice the bike got stolen

I boought this seat for my wifes bicycle; the one originally on there was not comfortable for her. She loved it for the three days before an enterprising thief decided to cut the cable attaching it to the fence. So what do we have left? The old seat, of course. Plus the padlock, attached to a severed cable. Bummer.

Saved my rear!

This bicycle seat is great compared to the standard one that came on my cruiser bike, which caused my booty great discomfort.

I was so happy to switch it out for this one. I would not really call this pillow top. Its not that soft, but gives just enough to give you hours on a bike with no sore booty.

I would buy it again!

I realize other people gave this item great reviews, but I believe they are incorrect. First of all it is NOT a pillow-top, NOT soft at all. The material they used on the seat is like a thick rubber tube, NOT like the picture shows. The picture looks like it would be a nice soft fabric, this is NOT the case. As far as comfort goes, my stock seat is better than this one (specialized comfort seat). Maybe the other reviewers weighed less than I do. I weigh 200 lbs and found this seat to be very hard, stiff and it became very hot in just 15 minutes of riding. it did not protect the sensitive area of my body (men know this area) and it began to hurt very quickly. I would NOT recommend this seat to anyone who weighs more than 175lbs. I returned this seat and purchased a Cloud 9 instead, which is far superior seat. I hope this review helps someone that is really looking for a comfort seat.

Cushy Comfort!

I bought this seat to replace the stock seat on my mountain bike after I herniated a disc in my lower back. It took me all of 5 minutes of adjusting it and riding around a bit to find the perfect height and angle. The installation was a breeze and the comfort is amazing! Now I dont have to worry about aggravating my back further and can still take my Husky out on her daily bikejoring runs. I couldnt be happier!

I keep searching for the truly comfortable bicycle seat. This seat is good - much better than the last seat - but not yet perfect. If anything the seat is too narrow [I am not overweight ~150 lb] and the center crotch is too high.

The seat is soft like a pillow no joke. It a good seat it seat high but you just got to get use to it. The seat give you a smooth ride over bumbs in the road and railroad tracks. I got a hybrid bike and I was looking for a good comfortable seat and I find one in this seat. thumbs up for this seat.

I bought this based on feedback I found here at Amazon. The seat is significantly more comfortable than the stock seat. I had no discomfort riding a couple of miles each day while vacationing on Cape Code. The only thing to note is that the seat adds a couple of inches to the height. Not a problem for most as you can simply lower the seat post, but in my case Ive got a child seat setup and am not able to lower the seat at all.

I just installed this on my bike and it is very soft and does not appear that it will get damaged by getting rain. Its not a huge seat but is wider than the normal seats that come with bikes, which gives you that extra support. It has springs underneath to help with the bumps. Overall..I give this item a 5..no problems so far...easy to install and remove if needed.

You dont want small and cushion seat but little wide, cushion and light weight for hybrid bikes. (I go on road more) I am new to biking but it takes 1 week to know what is best for you..buy it

Bliss!

This isnt as large as a cruiser saddle and it is more comfortable.
It is no bigger than the Brooks springer models; however, this Schwinn is lighter and far better. The Schwinn has no hard edges and it actually helps circulation rather than what usually happens with a larger saddle.
What a nice difference!
As for mine, I caused it to support a performance riding posture (headfirst--road style) by removing the tiny screws from the front, drilling 3 large holes underneath at the front, fishing some foam out of the "horn" through those holes underneath, and then having the springs removed. None of this was difficult except for removing the springs (re-form the rails was the hard part).
This saddle is so shock absorbing that it doesnt need springs, and road bikes dont climb hills when heavy. The result was a 589 gram comfort saddle that works for long distance rides, such as 100 to 200 miles or so.
The slight extra weight of this saddle was certainly worth its facilitation for riding 3x the distance. It is about half the weight of other saddles this size. It was easy to make up for the weight with some nice wheels, so performance was actually improved all around.
Thats size 4 (small cruiser, large mountain). It wont "friction" your legs.
For a road bike (if Terry Cite X isnt enough) just go ahead and use it (adaptation to soften the "horn" described above). Sure, this looks different, but go with what works. And this saddle certainly does work! You wont need temperature-hot padded shorts. Having the padding in the saddle instead is a great way to stay cool in the summer.
It does not need any modification to use it with a hybrid or mountain bike. Pop it right on and bliss is yours.
This item is a highly-recommend for distance cycling or for those who want more distance. Time in the saddle is key, and this one is a nice place to be.

Like Sitting In Your Favorite Chair

Great replacement seat if you get at all uncomfortable while riding. The seat is wide and cushy, giving plenty of support to the places where we need it most. Looks good too, not overly enormous. I ride a Schwinn bicycle, so it looks like it belongs. I definitely recommend this seat!

Excellent Replacement Seat

My wife and I both have the same bikes, with very similar setups. We both needed replacement saddles around the same time, so I did my homework and purchased two of these Schwinn Pillow Top saddles. What a difference! No more sore rear end! Dont be fooled by the "pillow top" desciption - its just marketing. Its not "soft" like a pillow. The seat is firm, but comfortable enough for long rides, with a stable frame and well matched springs. The split down the middle of the seat is functionally effective without making the seat feel odd. It doesnt feel like there is a major section of the seat cut out. Also, its not really a big, wide, oversized seat like a lot of the "cruiser" marketed seats. In other words, it doesnt look out of place or dorky on our hybrid street/trail bikes. I would definitely recommend buying this replacement model from Schwinn.

So much comfort, so much support

Be relieved, those days of feeling like your being assualted by your bike seat is over. This seat is ultra comfortable, and its wide so you have ample support. The instructions are kind of hazy, but luckily you can just slip the whole seat in, and take out your old one.
