Great Bike     On: 2007-12-25

Was worried when the box arrived all torn up as to what the bike would look like but no need to worry, the bike was in excellent shape and every bit as good looking as the pix showed. Was very easy to put together and ilove it.
Very cute!     On: 2007-11-06

This cruiser bike is very cute, I am an adult, but I am small. 24 inch is perfect for me. The assembling is not difficult. The owners manual could be confusing, since it tells you how to assemble ALL kinds of bikes and the pictures are not so clear. I tried the bike a few times. It is easy to handle and not too heavy. A great bike to ride around get some grocery, etc. Oh, the seat is not too comfortable, a bit hard. I will change it to a bigger one.

The bicycle is made very well and was easy to assemble. My wife has enjoyed riding the old cruiser style bike. It makes for a very enjoyable ride through the park when riding bikes with the grandkids.

Huffy Good Vibrations 24 inch Cruiser Bike- A classic, retro bike purchased for our tall tween daughter, whos too big for kids bikes, but still wants the rear coaster brakes- the kind on childrens bikes, in fact the kind all bikes used to have, where you just step back on the pedal to brake- in other words, no handbrakes/no hand controls whatsoever, which my daughters hands are not strong enough (nor large enough) to operate anyway. This bike, she can reach & grasp the handlebars easily (handles are the super-comfy rubber grips, which slide over the steel tube ends of the handlebar- and are replaceable, if/as necessary). She LOVES this bike- no gears to worry about (they ALWAYS cause problems!), she feels secure in braking with the pedals, even when going downhill, just a fabulous, basic bike, in a grown up red-burgundy color- she was feeling too old for bright pink flowers & butterflies, etc. The tires are sturdy/solid, about 1/2 way in between a lightweight duty racing tire vs a heavyweight duty mountain bike tire, and have held the air really well all summer long too! One thing- It came partially assembled (manufacturers words, not mine), so, upon receipt, I had to take it to a local bike shop to have it assembled, tire pressure checked & filled, seat height adjusted/custom fit to my daughter, etc. It only cost ~$20. Another thing- shes the envy of all her freinds with this fabulous retro bike! Its just a back to basics, simple, old fashioned bike- we got the GIANT stainless steel wire basket for the front handlebars, great for carrying snacks, leaves or pinecone collections, etc. She doesnt tour France or anything, just rides around the neighborhood! No need for multiple gears. We liked hers so much, I just ordered & recieved a similar model in color light blue, 26 inch size, also a Huffy, so we can tour the neighborhood together! PS- These touring bikes are hard to come by- they are the type of specialty bicycle manufactured for boardwalk resort communities, ie youve surely seen guests cruising around the Disney hotel grounds on them, individual customers can purchase just 1 or 2 of these industrial models, but theyre at least $300/each. This Huffy model, at under $100, is a fabulous deal! Just make sure you either really, really know your way around bike assembly, or else take it to a bike shop to have it assembled- Proper assembly is the key to quality bike performance- Dont buy one from any of the discount giants pre-assembled by someone from general merchandise assembly- you want your bike put together by a pro bike shop! We are thrilled with this bike- it appears to be keepsake quality, but were not preserving it, were bicycling! One last thing- research & pay attention to size (either 24 inch or 26 inch): The 24 inch bike is said to be well suited to teens and women up to a certain height, say 5 ft 2 to 4 inches or so. Im 5 ft 6 inches, so I got the 26 inch size for myself (mens bikes are typically 26 inches). This is definitely a girls model, with the lower bar which you step over to get on the bike. As I mentioned, this 24 inch size is perfect for our quite tall, almost teenager. Keep in mind that the 24 inch size is readily available from every manufacturer imaginable, with the modern 20-24 gears (what child needs 20 different bike speeds?) and hand-lever brakes, if thats your preference.
