Missing Parts     On: 2008-06-02

I purchased this product as a gift and have to send back because it was impossible to put together. Not only were the instructions incredibly hard to understand, but I took it to a bike shop to help assemble and it turns out several key pieces are missing. Not a quality product.
Cute Cruiser     On: 2008-04-22

For $95 dollars, this cruiser is a bargain. Its no frills but super cute aestetically. I take it around town and it does the job. However, when UPS delivered it, they must of crushed the box cuz the back fender had a huge dent in it. I didnt return it cuz that would be a hassle. It just added more character to the bike. The fender and tire kind of make this weird noise from time to time but it is tolerable. All in all, i love my new bike.
Ignore any high ratings for this bike, it breaks often     On: 2008-04-04

I bought this bike around a year ago. I shopped around, found that it was cheapest here. There is a reason it is so cheap, everything breaks. First off, when I assembled out of the box, I noticed the rims and spokes were bent, but I figured I just need a bike to putt around on, not go race with. The first week I had it, the pedal strips and breaks off...theres an extra $40 to fix. A few months later, the handle grips crack and fall apart (I also store my bike indoors, so not caused by weather damage.) The tires never stay inflated...the chain broke after a few months. Overall, this POS from china is a waste of money. Spend the extra $50 and get a reliable bike.
Decent bike; great price     On: 2008-01-07

Bought this bike for my 12 year old son. He rides it everywhere. In fact, hes given up his mountain bike for this cruiser. Ive even given it a spin or two and its quite comfortable. The only negative is that the fenders arrived a bit bent and they made a noise against the tires. My hubby adjusted them the best he could and theyre better but not perfect. We would buy this bike again in a heartbeat and would recommend it to anyone.
Cheep     On: 2007-12-07

If you are 55 or taller, this bicycle may not fit you well. Also, the rear wheel is making a noise. Overall, dont expect miracles for this price.

Great bike for the price     On: 2007-02-07

Great bike for the price - it looks great and a great buy for a basic beach cruiser. I purchased this bike for my husband and ordered it two weeks before Christmas - I was very impressed as to how quickly the bike arrived - it was on my doorstep within 4 days after I hit the online send button!!!! My husband (not a serious biker - just likes to cruise the neighborhood) loves the bike. We have since equipped it with a lite and horn for a real vintage flair. Great deal - and thank you, Amazon!
Huffy 24" classic bicycle     On: 2007-01-11

This is a great bicycle for those who like a classic bike with a coaster brake. I am an older adult and I wanted a smaller bike for easier handling. The bike took some assembling, but I enjoyed it. The instructions were good. This is a strong, sturdy bike and I love it. It has the classic wide tires that make it easier to ride on grassy areas. The seat and handlebars have convenient adjustments. I like the black and chrome appearance.
Pretty good but...     On: 2006-11-28

the bolts are bad quality. Tried to loosen the bolts to assemble the front fender. One of them was on too tight, so I tried all my wrenches and screwdrivers to no avail and had the help of a mechanic as well. All it did was smooth out the ridges. Such bad quality bolts. I will replace them soon with higher grade ones...such a hassle. Besides that, the bike was easy to assemble (besides the front fender) and rode great. I recommend you look around for higher quality bikes first before settling on this one. But if you want to gamble and hope the bike you get doesnt have a bolt on too tight, then buy this one. The only negatives are cheap bolts and fenders.

EVERY COWBOY NEEDS A HORSE!     On: 2006-09-16

Where would Roy Rogers have been without Trigger? Where would The Lone Ranger have been without Silver? And Pecos Bill without Widowmaker, or Doc Holliday without Big Nose Kate? The indisputable fact is that every cowboy needs a horse to ride. And what with the price of gasoline and oats these days, is it any surprise that many of us urban cowboys have shifted to the two-wheeled variety of equine transportation?

The other day -- just on a whim -- I did an Amazon search to see if anything would come up when I entered in the name and style of my deeply beloved bicycle, THE HUFFY "GOOD VIBRATIONS" model cruiser. How exuberantly surprised I was to find myself staring at a photograph of my lovely, faithful "steed." Its still being made. Hooray! "Classic" cruisers are still in and Im still astride mine (even if the "fenders" are long gone.)

Let me tell you about my bike: I bought my Huffy "GOOD VIBRATIONS" cruiser at Pep Boys in downtown Santa Monica, California circa 1980. (It looks identical to the one pictured here.) Ive probably logged over 144,000 miles on mine. I used to pedal it every day before work on the beach bike path for exercise and for just the pure joy of it. My favorite ride took me from underneath the Santa Monica pier, through the human carnival of Venice Beach, around the boat slips of Marina Del Rey, and along the sand through El Segundo, Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach, Redondo Beach, to the outskirts of Torrance, and then back again. Or to put it more succinctly: My favorite ride was Heaven on Earth!

And note: With the barest minimum of maintenance, Im still riding on "GOOD VIBRATIONS." Yeah, uh-huh, thats right. About 26 years after buying my bike (for approx. the same price its being offered for here) it and I are still the best of friends; Im still planting my "cushions" on its seat and still pedaling along the canals, to the horse track, or to the grocery store, or to work. Now, how many years have you been driving your car? Think youll get 26 years out of it? Will you get 26 years out of your job? How `bout your marriage? Yeah, what Im saying is that "GOOD VIBRATIONS" last and last...

But I had a real scare recently: The bearings in the doohickey that connects to the thingamajig had gotten wrecked and the handlebars were loose in the whatchamacallit. (Rode it that way for over a year anyway.) Finally took it in to a bike shop and "Homeboy" tells me to throw my best friend into a dumpster. "Homeboy" says it cant be repaired. According to "Homeboy" the bike was basically junk when brand new; and that the fork could break on me at any moment and put me in the hospital. Well, certain that "GOOD VIBRATIONS" could never hurt me, I put my buddy in the bed of my truck and drove it from Phoenix, Airheadzona to Santa Monica, California for one last beach bike path ride. I figured that if it broke on me along the way, Id just leave it on the beach to R.I.P. (Rust In Pieces).

Well, we made it from the Santa Monica pier to Torrance and back, just like the good ol days! The other riders could hear us comin up on `em because "GOOD VIBRATIONS" was loudly going "SQUEEEK - KREEEK - RATTLE - GROAN! SQUEEEK - KREEEK - RATTLE - GROAN!" Other bikers probably thought he was crying in pain, but I recognized those sounds for what they really were: SINGING! JOYFUL SINGING!

Back home, Good Friend Melanie suggested that I take "GOOD VIBRATIONS" to see the nice, old gentleman who owns ROADRUNNER BIKE CENTER in Glendale, AZ. Two weeks later and only $34.59 lighter, "GOOD VIBRATIONS" is as good as new and ready to hit the canals again as soon as the weather cools down! (Why that dirty dog at the first bike shop! I think "Homeboy" just wanted to sell me some newfangled, multi-geared "horse.")

Only one thing concerns me: My bike is clearly labeled "HUFFY - MADE IN U.S.A." But nowhere on this Product Page do I see the country of origin mentioned. Are "GOOD VIBRATIONS" still made here, or are they now produced in China? I urge you to investigate before buying because "GOOD AMERICANS" dont financially support Coummunist countries that utilize slave labor, threaten their neighbors, imprison the religious, and force abortions on their women. Right?

Sometimes only poetry can express a cowboys love for his "horse."

O my Bike, O my Horse
Weve ridden twenty-six years
You have carried me through
Times of joy and times of tears

Weve traveled city streets
And journeyed along the strand
I rarely gave you oil
You never b!tched `bout the sand

Leaving California
You never said, "This is bad!"
You never once complained
(Though I kinda wish you had)

You never bucked me off
Never trampled on my hide
Never had a headache
When I said Id like to ride

You are my "Black Beauty"
You are truly my best friend
Ill shout it from rooftops
Though others I might offend

Because of you alone
I have known excitations
And more than The Beach Boys
You give me Good Vibrations

I feel so close to you
You are almost like my kin
Throw you in a dumpster?
No, Ill throw that "Homeboy" in!
