I own a regular pad shorts with 6 panels and really the gel is much better...not even counting the 8 panel feature which makes a lots of difference in fitting...All around a really good biking shorts.

Excellent product. Well worth the price.

I was skeptical about needing biking shorts specially since I bike a mere ten miles a day. But on the advice of some "biker dudes" I gave in. Thank goodness for that. These shorts are extremely comfortable, breathable, and do not bunch up to cause discomfort. I was surprised. The gel stuff is OK but I would not buy the product specifically for the gel padding. After a while your butt gets used to the saddle anyway. However, for the fit, breathability, and comfort alone these shorts are worth every penny. Excellent product.
