Good pump but small gauge increments of 4 PSI is unwelcome     On: 2008-03-21

Its a solid pump with an easy to use valve head. What I have found frustrating is the gauge.

The numerical increments are every 20 PSI: 0 / 20/ 40 / 60 / 80 et cetera. That would be fine but the marked increments between numerals is 4 PSI. For example, after "20" the tiny hash marks indicate 24, 28, 32, and 36. With the gauge near the bottom of the pump it is nearly impossible to discern the hash marks while pumping.

This pump is fine for inflating my bicycle tire to 80 PSI but near impossible to use with my motorcycle tire at 33 PSI. If you have have better than 20/20 vision and use a base-4 numerical system, this is the ideal pump for you!
Very easy to use     On: 2008-03-17

Im very pleased with this pump. Its by far the best pump Ive ever used. Before, I use to struggle to fill my tires to the point I thought was properly inflated, but the first time I used this pump, not only did I find that my tires were actually drastically under-inflated, but was really quick and easy to get it to the right pressure.
Average Pump     On: 2008-03-05

Ive had this pump also for about a month.

Pumps up tires/tubes with Shrader valves OK.

The Presta valve side of the twin head does not work properly with short stemmed Presta valves. It seems that the pump nozzle has difficulty in forming a good seal with short stemmed Presta valves. The pump will only pump up to around 75 PSI into the tire/tube. Pressures beyond 75 PSI appear to "seal" the valve, which prevents further tire/tube inflation. The extra pressure just pressurizes the pump hose only!

Pumping to higher pressures is a bit difficult. Especially when compared to easier working pumps such as Specialized and Blackburn brands which I have also.

An average pump.

Not recommended for use with short stemmed Presta valves.
Does the job nicely     On: 2008-02-09

It has a nice base for stability, it works well with Presta or Schraeder valves, and has an easy to read pressure gague. No complaints so far. Does what its supposed to do and does it well.
Great pump     On: 2008-02-08

Pumps up fast, seals up to the valve well. Had been using a cheap pump for a few years, and this is a huge improvement. Good PSI increase with each stroke. Have only used it on a Schrader valve, never on a presta valve.
Good Item     On: 2008-01-25

I had an older version of the Joe Blow pump and this one seems more sturdy. The only thing I have noticed with this one and the old one is the pumps gauge usually reads about 10 psi more than what is actually in the tire. Not really a big deal. Smooth action with fewer repetitions. Great pump for the price! I took advantage of a free shipping deal. I recommend this product.
A great floor pump     On: 2007-08-22

I have had this pump for over a month now, and I have used it almost every day before riding my bike. I have had several other pumps, and this one works the best. The valve design is what makes this pump so good. It locks on easily to the tube valve and when I release it, I know that no air escapes from the tube. I am very happy with this pump.
Great pump!     On: 2007-07-12

Havent had a single problem with it. The floor plate is large for good control. The rubber handle is comfortable and wide for great leverage. Ive used several other brands and this is by far my favorite. (Its not always easy for a 100 lb. girl to put 120 lbs. of pressure in a tire but with this pump, its a breeze).
broke after 6 months of occasional use     On: 2007-05-31

so Im looking for a new bicycle pump - clearly I wont buy
the JoeBlow a second time.
Equipment You Can't Rely On     On: 2007-05-05

This is a great looking pump. Unfortunately, it doesnt work very well. After just a few uses, the connector head no longer works with presta valves. It will not even inflate to 20 psi. The warranty is worthless. I tried to find a replacement head but it has to be ordered and is too expensive.
Dont make the mistake of buying this pump. It looks good but. . .
I would have hesitation with any "JoeBlow" pump that has this type of head/connector because of its poor design/quality.
Bad presta inflation     On: 2007-04-27

I had problems getting the presta valve head to depress the inner stem so it would take air on my road bike. I messed around with it for a while trying to insert it right and finally gave up and returned it. I ended up buying a Specialized pump with a dual valve head and it works better.

The actual build quality of the pump is better than some because the floor plate is metal and the pump doesnt flex when you pump high pressure, but beware of the presta head.

Not practical - head is too large - too much plastic.     On: 2007-02-18

The end of the hose (the part that attaches to your tire valve, etc) is too large. I cant use it on my kids bikes because it wont fit between the spokes on their tires, and I cant use it on my car because it wont fit in the nook on my wheels. It is even difficult to use to inflate balls with an inflation needle. It is difficult to get the needle attached to the hose-end because the diameter of the cavity, into which the needle goes, it slightly too small. With force, you can get it in, but good luck trying to get it back out.

Part of the reason for all these prolems is that too much plastic is used in the hose-end. If they only used steel, it could have been made much smaller - and therefore much more useful.

Good, sturdy and useful     On: 2007-01-21

It is a good pump, sturdy, easy to use, versatile for any type of valve and with a precise and easy-to-read meter.
It is however big if one is limited on storage place as the foot support is not retractable, but not a major issue.

Pumps car tires and bicyles tires     On: 2005-10-24

I use it mostly for car tires. Gauge is accurate and the pump attaches easily to tire stem. You get a workout but effort is less than other pumps I have had. Bicycles are a snap. Keep one in the car.

Nice door stop.     On: 2005-08-10

This pump is a nightmare. The nature of its problems seem to be design flaws, so I doubt there is any chance of scoring a `good one.

1. The rubber gasket upon which the air compression depends seems to be too small, and so gives no seal, so that the stroke goes down about 75% before air begins to be pushed.

2. Though it is incidental in view of the catastrophic failure already described, the top cap is not attached, and detaches, i.e., the pump falls apart, on every upstroke.

Inasmuch as this pump is incapable of accomplishing its one and only function, it is worthless. I am appalled that this tyre pump ever made it into production. I always research these reviews before taking a shot in the dark, but did not read anything negative. I had to pay the initial $5 P+P, then $13.50 return postage-well over half the value-to find out that I cannot buy a pump through the post.
Don't waste your money     On: 2005-07-24

Mine worked fine--for about 9 months. Then the valve blew out and it was worthless except for inflating rubber balls to about 9 psi. Wouldnt recommend this, unless you want to buy a new pump every year or so.

pretty good pump for the price     On: 2005-01-27

This is nicely made pump, not too heavy, and comes in a great yellow color. Also nice that it includes a ball needle.
