Poor build quality     On: 2008-05-19

Have bought numerous PowerWheels for my children and never had any problems, infact, we still have a quad that is 8 years old and still going strong. The John Deere Power Loader is a different story. Looking at the quality the day we bought it, I told my wife I was concerned about the longevity. It wasnt long before pieces started breaking off in normal everyday kid use. Definitely NOT durable. The trailor broke after a month, a mud flap cracked and broke off soon after when my child manuvered in the yard, the front-loader part is hardly functional,..it goes on and on. Most recently the gear selector disengaged so it will only drive in one gear. I took it apart to see that the connections are cheap plastic. I tell you what, if PowerWheels made this product, it would last. As cool as the John Deere looks, Id steer clear. John Deeres modo is "Nothing runs like a Deere" and this hold true for the this less than quality product.

Super fun for all Ages...take it from a Mom and Teacher Who's Tried 'Em All!     On: 2007-10-30

Absolutely awesome toy. Great price for 12 volts. Our son is 17months old and adores his cool tractor (one of his newest words). We bought it for our son for his 1st birthday instead of wasting money on a power wheel for every year of his life. Hes loved sitting on it, pretending to drive, and using the trailer from day one. He figured out how to push the pedal and go last month (when he was 16 months old)...now, if only he could figure out to steer :) Hes used it outside, but we keep it inside because we have the room for now. Banged up walls are a small price to pay just to see his smile and hear his laugh as he zooms around the house. He even likes to put his snacks in the loader part and then eat out of it. Kinda like a little piggy.

I highly recommend this tractor. Its not a 2-seater like the Gator, buit it was cheaper and had the cool loader and trailer.

*About the reverse gear problem. We, too, had the reverse go out a few months ago after using it for a grand total of maybe 10 minutes. However, I simply called Peg Perego, the rep explained that it has happened before, and they immediately sent out a new gear set. No big deal, things are covered under warranty, and she was super nice. If we all register the products, they can contact us about it.*
Very dissapointed     On: 2007-09-27

My son received this as a gift for his 4th birthday. After riding it only two times the reverse went out of it. If you will check out reviews on this item at Walmart and Target you will find these has not just happened to us but a lot of people. Think twice before you buy this one until Peg Perego makes some improvements on this.
My Son Loves It     On: 2007-07-13

It took him some getting used to (hes only 2 yrs, 6 mos), but now we can hardly keep him off of it. I bought this tractor to keep at Grammas house (an acreage where they have their own tractors) and he spends his weekend afternoons "helping" us haul everything from yard waste to animal feed around. I wasnt sure how to rate the durability because we havent had it very long yet, but so far so good. Its held up to abuse by my son and his six cousins anyway. The battery seems to hold its charge for quite a while, both in and out of use. There were two screws that had to be removed to charge it, but I replaced them with some wing screws and problem solved. Initially, I was concerned that, like so many ride-ons, it wouldnt handle the rugged terain of the acreage very well, but it actually does a remarkable job of getting around. My son has already figured out how to shift his weight slightly when it does get hung up. Ive been really impressed with its mobility. The biggest vote for this ride-on, however, comes from the women of the family, who think its the most adorable thing they ever saw.
my son's pride and joy....     On: 2007-07-12

Breathe easy dads this one is relatively easy to put together. I put it together in about 2 hours. We got it for Christmas and it is my sons pride and joy. Hes always ready to show off his John Deer Tractor as he calls it. Be sure to charge it for a good 16 hours on your first charge and thereafter it charges back to full power in a few hours, even has a light to tell you when it is full charged. It will hold a charge for awhile. We usually for 3 or 4 riding days before recharging and my son does some heavy riding. Hes taken it on the beach and rides over hills and bumps. Very durable and once you unlock the 2nd gear it is fast. On his 2nd day, he was ready for 2nd gear. Easy to pick up and easy to handle. Reverse gear works fine. My son is getting good at 3 point turning. Easily the best thing I ever bought him.
My son loves it!     On: 2007-06-08

Toy is great, but to charge the battery, the cover must be removed with a screwdriver. Battery does seem to last quite awhile between charges. Reverse gear requires holding a lever in place, which is supposed to be a safety feature. However, then they cant use both hands to steer. The higher forward speed has a parental lock-out, which is good for younger children. Overall, my son loves driving his new tractor, but it will be awhile before he is good at it.
Perfect gift for little ones who love Bob the Builder     On: 2006-12-29

My son is 4 and he adores Bob the Builder so this toy has provided hours of fun and he rides it daily. He has mastered riding it on sidewalks, down the grassy slope next to our driveway and even parks it in the garage. Boys and girls would love this and my son even helps drive the recycling down to the curb for us.
