My 8 Yr Old Son Loves This!     On: 2008-05-27

Well-built, sturdier than previous Peg Perego model we had, accommodates 2 batteries so he can use it longer between charges... overall great experience with this product.
so fun!!!!!     On: 2008-04-04

We just got the Polaris for our two boys for their birthday. They turned 7 and 4 and they are having a blast! It was easy to assemble, no missing or broken parts. They caught on right away with switching speeds, reversing and steering. It gets good traction even on wet grass and our pine needle-covered yard. When theyre riding together their combined weight is about 100 lbs and it doesnt slow it down at all. Weve never had a battery powered ride-on and I wasnt sure if they were worth the $$$, but after seeing how much theyre enjoying it (and sharing so nicely!!!!) Im really glad we got it. Thank goodness their grandparents, aunts and uncles all decided to pool the money. I was concerned that my 7 yr old would think it was too "babyish" since some of his friends have real atvs, but he loves it. I love that he and his brother can ride together safely.
One of the Best Ride Ons on the market     On: 2008-01-28

I purchased this for my 5 1/2 year old as he was starting to outgrow his jeep ride on. I thought it would be best to go with an atv style ride on as he could ride it for more years than one that he would sit in like his jeep. It was hard to tell how large this ride on was until i unpacked it and realized its one of the largest ride on ive seen.

Putting it together was easy and took less than one hour. I did charge the battery for 18 hours as recommended and have done so upon every use of the ride on with no negative battery issues so far. My son carries two of our neighbors and our dog at the same time and it handles this weight fine. The quality is good and no broken parts or failed parts and my son rides it hard hitting fences, swing sets, curbs etc. This ride on is worth the $$$ due to the top notch quality and the size which will allow you child to use this ride-on for several more years beyond the typical car/jeep style which they will outgrow and cannot get inside the vehicle.

Ive read about the battery run time being an issue but we are getting about 2 hours of constant use out of each charge. What ive found is this battery can NOT be charged for a few ours and this can damage the battery. It must be charged 18hours after use and do NOT let the battery run all the way down before recharging as this will result in damage to the battery. If you will make sure you charge the intial 18 hours and again 18 hours after use the battery will last as has been my experience. You may want to have a backup battery you can swap out and two batteries should give you at least 4 hours ride time.....
Great fun!!     On: 2007-11-29

We love this 4-wheeler! My son has had 3 ride-ons and he has ridden all 3 into the ground! I bet they each had 150K miles or more on them. This Polaris is strong, sturdy, and takes a beating that can be dished out by a 7-year-old and all his friends. And it goes plenty fast, although you can set the speed at 2.5 MPH. It is so big, that it looks like a real one. We highly recommend it.
Great! Great! Great!     On: 2007-05-22

This was a surprise for my son who is too old for the little power wheels and not mature enough for an ATV with an engine. This was perfect for him! He just stood there looking at it and saying "Are you kidding?" It arrived here on time and with all the parts. Nothing was broken and all went smooth putting it together. I would recommend it for older kids as well like my son who just turned 8 but who is on the smaller side at 45 lbs.
GREAT battery powered ATV!     On: 2007-05-16

We already have a Lil Kawasaki for our youngest son who just turned 3. It bores him so he doesnt stay on it long. His older brothers (now 11 and 15) left him their Ninja ATV and the red Jeep 2 seater (all Power Wheels) but the Ninja has an aflicted front wheel issue so he kept getting stuck. Myhusband said to go get him the best one I could find so I came home with this one and- after having to wait 16 hours until battery was charged- hegot on and got stuck (only because he was going in slow gear and the grass was damp.) As soon as I put it in the higher gear he was off to the races! He suddenly knew how to steer like a pro and around the trees and the swingset he went! Within a couple of hours he was giving his 2 year old buddy the ride of his life- and zig zagging around the yard. Its aheavy vehicle so when it was left in the front yard I wasnt about to drag it all the way around back and into the shed so I hopped on and drove it myself. Im about 140-145lbs and it didnt whine at all. ( I didnt push my luck and go up any inclines or anyhing but still! What a great toy! It looks so real, the neighbor (adult) was showing all his friends how cool it was. Slap some real tires on this thing and youre in business! No, wouldnt do that, but it is a great toy and Im glad we got it. My 11 year old is thrilled since hes not too big for it! We may have to get another one... hes only 74 pounds so he had a year or 3 before hell outgrow it!
I bought another battery today- I dont want to take a chance on running out of battery power when we are all having so much fun!
The charger is great - you cant overcharge it, once the green light is on its ready but you dont have to unplug it. Thats a nice feature.

I got mine for $299 at local discount dept store so look around before you purchase!
Worth the extra dollars     On: 2007-05-14

My sons are 4 and 6. We bought this for our 4 year old, but both love it. It has two speeds (plus reverse), so it isnt too fast for our little one. It is powerful enough to ride them together. And it drives very well on grass. We had a cheaper ride-on that didnt work on the grass, so it wasnt used much. And it couldnt hold both of them. Of course, it was about $150 less than this one, but I think the money was well spent, since the kids use it more often and together.
It took my husband a few hours to put it together and attach all of the stickers, too. And you need to charge the battery for 12 hours before the first ride. But the look on our sons face and the fact that he was able to jump on it and start riding when he opened the present was well worth the effort and time.
Polaris Sportsman for multiple users     On: 2007-05-14

I bought this ride on vehicle for my children and they love it. They can ride two at a time and go through any type of surface. The battery compartment is a bit difficult to get at but if you change it out with a spare battery it is easier. So far it is a good buy.
Great Beginner ATV     On: 2007-01-10

Our family owns a real ATV. The Polaris is a great way to safely introduce small children to riding a motorized vehicle. The gasoline ATVs for children are just too advanced for our five and three year old but the battery powered Polaris is just perfect. The battery lasts forever and the motor is strong enough to go up and over small birms in an off road setting. Be sure to equip your children with safety helmets and safety gear before riding!
fair     On: 2007-01-10

The item arrived to us the week of Christmas three weeks after we had ordered it. It arrived with several broken and several missing parts. Amazon would not send us new parts, they would only replace the unit if we shipped it back first. This was to be a Christmas gift to my son, so that was not optional. Had the order arrived when the order tracking said it would I would have had time to return it.
Nice ride on     On: 2007-01-02

My daughter received this ride on last Christmas so we have had it about a year.We have had no problems so far with any of the wiring. She is 6 1/2 and 40 pounds and still loves it and rides it daily. We have no sidewalks but she rides it on the grass, dirt and our rock driveway.I have found that it rides best on the grass and gets better traction than on dirt.My brother has also rode this and he wights 90 pounds and it held up to him, although went slower than it did with my daughter because of the weight difference.I would say up to 60 pound would be the highest weight to get the best performance. It will go foreward in 2 speeds and in reverse and my daughter has never had any problems swithching between the "gears".It is a lever at the side that you move labeled 1,2 andR.One thing I wish they could have added is working head lights but I guess that would have drained the battery faster. The only thing I was unhappy with was that I had ordered it several months early for Christmas and never opened the box so when my husband assembled it Christmas morning we found that there was no battery in the box.It was supposed to come with one so I guess it was just overlooked during packaging but make sure you check!I ordered 2 batterys from the polaris site and a backup battery is definately a good idea! We get about 20-25 minutes ride time per battery.Overall I am very pleased with this purchase and it has held up well.
