The first pair I purchased, was from a bike shop. I liked them so well, I purchased another pair thru Amazon. These barend plugs are made from aluminum not plastic. The o-ring is there to hold the wedges in place until the plug is inserted in the end of the handlebar. Once inserted, hold the plug in place against the handlebar with one hand while tightening the allen bolt with the other hand. Once tightened, these plugs will NOT come loose!! These plugs add an elegance to the appearance of your bike. I like the "silver" which appears that the aluminum is polished. To make them shine even more, use car wax and buff with a soft cotton rag. Because of the wedge design, these barend plugs will fit most bicycle (and maybe even motorcycle) handlebars. A metric allen wrench is required for tightening the bolt and is NOT included. If youre looking for high quality bicycle barend plugs, buy this product!!
