Dangerous mounting hardware     On: 2010-03-12

When I saw this baby seat on Amazon I got very excited. Riding with my baby between my arms with both of us watching the road ahead seemed like a lot of fun. Plus, all the customer reviews reassured me this was the best I could get.
However, once I got it I noticed the mounting hardware, particularly the stinger -- a 7-inch steel bar where the seat slides for mounting/dismounting -- would represent a lot of trouble.
Sure enough, once installed the stinger sits right in front of you and it simply is too dangerous to have a 7-inch steel bar pointing at you when you ride. You just wont be able to use your bike without the baby seat on.
This is a serious disadvantage over back-mounted baby seats which can easily be dismounted for riding solo.
I hope new prospective buyers find this information useful.
Love it! Way better than our rear seat.     On: 2010-03-07

When our daughter was 10 months old, we got a well rated rear seat for my bike (a Jamis Coda). While the seat was comfortable for baby, it was frustrating to me because I couldnt use a rear rack, and with her on the back and a loaded basket on the front, the bike felt really off balance. Plus, she was right behind me, and her view was really hindered by my back. And shed kick me in the rear if I didnt strap her legs in (which I wasnt crazy about doing).

I ordered the Ibert, got it on my bike in less than five minutes, and took her for a ride. Right away, I noticed how much more stable my bike felt. I will be able to put a rack and panniers on the back and actually run errands by bike. As soon as we took off, my daughter was ringing the bell and waving at people out and about.

The straps arent the absolute best (hard to get to stay on her shoulders) but she is very secure in the seat when I consider the straps, the crossbar, and how little wiggle room she has under the handlebars. My bike is also set up with wide, swept back handlebars, which work fantastic with the seat. I dont have to lean over her at all like I might have to do if I had flat bars.

I did have to lower my saddle a bit so that I could put a foot down when stopped. I dont have enough room to get off of the saddle and stand between the Ibert and the saddle at a stoplight. It was an easy solution that was far less awkward than I anticipated.

All in all, I LOVE the Ibert, and the benefits far outweigh some of the small compromises we made to use it. Id highly recommend swapping out for a nice wide, albatross style handlebar to be more comfortable like we have.

Perfect for mom of shorter stature     On: 2010-02-28

This seat was absolutelty perfect. I am 52 with a cruiser made for a junior girl, so its smaller than the regular cruisers. This bike was perfect, I could barely tell the difference with my son on it. I must also say, my son is on the larger side. We also moved it to my husbands mountain bike and it was also perfect. I highly recomend this bike to everyone!
Awesome seat and simple to take on and off as needed     On: 2010-02-23

I had been looking for a kids bike seat for our 10 month old and after reading all the positive reviews, decided to give the ibert a try. I have only used a few times but so far, this is a truly awesome child seat.
It is so very easy to install and you can take on and off in less than 5 minutes. I have used it on my Gary Fisher mountain bike and it works great. I can easily interchange it as needed to my wifes Trek hybrid.
The best part is how great it rides. With all the extra weight on the handle bars you barely even notice it being there. I couldnt believe how well it rode and handled.
The only downside at all is if you are tall (62) like me, you may touch the seat with your knees when pdealing so I had to slightly adjust my knee position when pedaling.
And of course most of all she loves being right up front and being able to see everything. She laughs, smiles and waves the whole time. Try it, you wont regret it!
So easy to assemble too!     On: 2010-01-18

I wanted a front mounted child bicycle seat. I did hours of research for a good one and I have to say that iBERT is the best. I saw terrific recommendations in parent magazines AND online reviews.

Ive never had to assemble anything onto a bike except a basket but I was able to get this installed in less than 10 minutes!! Mine was installed on a mountain bike from Target.

TIP: I placed my daughter in the iBERT BEFORE I installed it on the bike. I wanted to make sure I adjusted all the straps first so I didnt have to hassle with it later. Good thing I did because it took us 5 minutes to make sure it was custom-fitted to her and she was screaming by the end of it. I cant imagine trying to adjust all the straps while balancing the mountain bike at the same time.

I took my 13-month old daughter out for a ride on this and she loves it! She even had her snack trap filled with cheerios in her hands while she was sitting in her iBERT seat. She sat in her iBERT for an hour the first time. The nice thing is she can always look up to see who is pedaling the bike to help her feel more secure. Cant do that if its a rear mounted seat.

In California all kids must have a bike helmet. So we got her Giro Me2 Infant Bike Helmet along with the iBERT.
Excellent product. I love it and and my kid loves it too.     On: 2010-01-08

It is super easy to install. I tried it on my beach cruiser and my 6 speed mountain bike. I love having my kid up front and I dont have to think about splashing mud puddles if they were in a trailer. I also liked that it clips off easily when you want to ride without the seat and you can just ride your bike with the bracket still attached.

Its a little awkward getting the kid into it but I put the front wheel in between my knees to help support the bike. These front mounted seats take up room there where you might be used to standing in front of your seat to mount the bike, so I find that I like to keep my seat a little lower so I can mount the seat easier. Also, I can flat foot it at stops easier and a thats more stable too.
Works great! Kid loves the view!     On: 2010-01-07

This is an awesome easy to use addition to a bike! My husband put it on his bike and my son loved to watch everything on the bike trail! He has seen snakes, bunnies, squirrels and other wildlife! :) We had two great runs with it and attracted a lot of attention and envy from the other bike riders! I cant tell you how many times we were asked what is that and where did you get it! :) Great tool for a small child!
Awesome Seat and Easy Install!!!     On: 2009-12-31

My son is now 2 1/2 and he loves this seat. I highly recommend it. Plus the installation was a cinch. Well worth the price.
There is no better bike seat     On: 2009-12-22

You cannot go wrong with this bike seat for your kids. It makes your balance more stable. You can have an actual conversation with your child and, if you stop for Mexican food for lunch, your little one wont want to walk home. I only wish I had thought of it.
Awesome Christmas Present     On: 2009-12-21

I bought this as a Christmas Present to my husband & son. It arrived when he was home so he saw what it was and wanted to use it immediately. They both love it. Very easy to install and so much healthy fun. I would definately recommend it.
We all love it!     On: 2009-12-17

I have never written a review about anything before but this front mounted bike seat has become the best purchase of 2009! My 1 yo loves to bike now and my 7 yo loves to come along because we look so cool! I installed the iBert on my cruiser in about 5 minutes and was off and riding. It feels safer then a kid seat on the back because when biking I naturally put my weight forward and so I dont feel like Im trying to compensate for any odd weight distribution. I will/have been raving about this seat to just about everyone!
Great seat     On: 2009-12-16

Love it and my son (18 months) loves it too. Only one thing I could think of to improve this it to make locking the saftly belt little easier. Once toddler is in seat its difficult to access belt clip.
Awful, unstable, unsafe...     On: 2009-12-13

I took this to a professional bike shop and though they warned me, they fitted it (it was impossible for me to fit myself because of the angle of my handlebars). My daughter is 13 months and big for her age but the seat is rated to take her weight. What is not made clear is how unstable it felt to have all of her weight at the front of the bike on the actual steering mechanism. It felt very unstable. And if you crash, your child has no head protection other than the helmet so...better not crash. Better still, just dont buy this and get a rear-mounted seat that attaches firmly to the bikes frame. That is safest and many come with head protecting high backs. I could not safely use my brakes with this mounted. I think it may even be illegal in many states so if you feel you still want it, check with the DMV or highway patrol. A brain injury is not worth the novelty of having the kid sit up front.
Expensive but worth it!     On: 2009-11-05

My husband was skeptical at first but my daughter (19mo) loves it. We are able to talk and point at everything for a much closer experience. It does take getting used to, but I feel very comfortable on it now. The only problem I have is that the cushion wont stay on with the small plastic pins supplied. Other than that, we have had a ball with it!
LOVE this seat!     On: 2009-10-31

It installed in under 5 minutes. I was worried that it would make steering difficult but I didnt even know it was there. My 14 month old weighs 20 lbs and fit perfectly. She had the best time riding up front and pointing at everything. This was a great investment and will be used a lot!
Make sure it fits your bike before ordering     On: 2009-10-27

I read a lot of reviews about this seat and they all had positive comments, I ordered this product and found out it didnt fit correctly in my bike and when I finally got to install it, I could only ride straight, I couldnt turn and i had to return it. Make sure it fits before ordering.
I love the concept but the design is tough at times     On: 2009-10-22

First I have to say my son hated the bike trailer and he loves this seat. That is very important and we use this thing several times a week. The downside is that the buckle is to wideset and it makes me nervous when I see it fall off my sons shoulder while we are riding. I have tried all sorts of adjustments but I feel like there should be a way to adjust the width in the back. Also water collects in the seat. We went for a rain ride and the water was pooled at his feet. I will probably just drill some holes in the seat to prevent that.

Good seat concept all in all.
I loved it, daughter loved it. definate recomend     On: 2009-10-18

1) A bit wobbly when mounted. not at all noticable when riding.
2) Shoulder straps fall down all the time. the wife gave me a plastic thing that pulls bra straps together... made it work like a pair of suspenders. works fine now.
3) old versions of the seat didnt have padding. not my problem. mine was easy to mount and my daughter has not complained.
4) there could have been stem mounting problems for extra beefy (thick stems)but i had no issues with any of the bikes I own.

final review: simple and effective. I recomend
Love the iBert     On: 2009-10-17

Great child seat - easy to install and use. My son loves the seat... I do have to keep my knees a little further out to avoid bumping the seat but it is nothing i consciously think about... Overall, great simple product.
great seat     On: 2009-10-16

We first had a topeak seat- while it was very safe and study it dwarfed our small toddler (started using at 12 months.) It was so big and the back of the seat always pushed his helmet over his eyes. While he seemed to enjoy riding with us, he didnt seem to like the seat. We got the ibert a few months later (when he was 15 months and 22 lbs.) and he loved it- our only regret is that we wish that we would have gotten it sooner. We use the seat for short rides around town and its great for those purposes. Based on other reviews I was cautious about how it would fit on my bike (Im 5 2" and have a womens frame mountain bike) so we actually were able to go to our local bike shop and have them install it to make sure it would fit. Also, the current models come with the seat pad (and the price is about $10 higher to include the pad) so check to see if you are getting the newest model that includes the seat pad.
Satisfied owner     On: 2009-10-15

The I-bert bike seat is GREAT!!! We love it and our 16 month old loved it. She was laughing the whole time. She did not want to stop riding!!! I highly recommend it to anybody who has a small child to get out and get fresh air and exercise. It was a cinch to put on!!! Great product!!!
great way to share a ride     On: 2009-10-12

I got this for my husband who loves his urban bike trips in NYC. We much prefer this front mount over the rare one. this way - the rider can share the ride and talk to his little passanger.
The best seat ever!!!!     On: 2009-10-06

My husband and I have an 18 month old son who absolutely loves this seat. He loves being able to see where we are going and often "helps" daddy steer the bicycle. I knew my son would never be content sitting on the back which is why I did a search for a front mounted seat. This seat was the best option on the market for us because it allows our son to extend his legs forward which creates more pedal/knee room for my husband. The only thing about this seat that could be improved is the harness straps. They do not fit very well. For now, we have criss crossed them which is working however, once he is a little taller we will have to change them back and put a strip of velcro or a zip tie around the back to keep them up.
I love it. also, my two years old sun fall a sleep on it     On: 2009-10-05

I am very happy with it. Also, I have another two seat. this on is my best one
Fun for baby     On: 2009-10-04

My baby boy really enjoys the ibert. He is 12 months old now and about 23.5 lbs and he is very comfortable in it. It was very easy (for my husband) to install and removes easily.
iBert Child Bicylcle Seat... Best EVER !!!     On: 2009-10-02

I was leary at first, but so glad I bought this seat. It attatched to my bikes handle bar neck in minutes. I had my 7 mo old boy Shane in it getting fitted for the straps in no time. We have taken a few rides now, and I was worried that my knees would hit the seat, they do not. Once in a while my knee will rub the edge, but not a big deal. My boy LOVES to go for rides. He just gets the biggest grin when I show him his Ducky Giro Helmet. (which adjusts to even a 7 mo olds head) He is a joy to have ride up front with me. This seat is WELL WORTH IT... If you have any questions, just have an inch on the handlebar neck, Everything else is great. Oh, and the new seats all come with the orange snap-in seat pad. Something that I was unsure of also. Hope I could help you in your decision of this bicycle seat.
The best thing I got for my son this year     On: 2009-09-30

I was unsure about this item, never bought stuff on amazon until I decided to buy this seat for my son. I am very impressed with the service of amazon , and also with the this bike seat. The ibert is so easy to put together and it just works great.I am the only person that has it in the area and I already have 4 parents interested in getting it because it just works so good. I dont regreat this purchase at all and my son loves to be close to me as we ride our bike.

Best seat available.     On: 2009-09-23

This is the most convenient and well performing baby seat available. Setting it up does require some basic bike maintenance and fitting skills, but if you know what you are doing around bikes then it is trivial and foolproof. My son rides it since he was 9 month old and loves it.

Good but not perfect     On: 2009-09-17

For me, it came down to the Wee Ride or the iBert. Unlike the Wee Ride, the iBert is mounted closer to the head tube. This supposedly gives you more clearance for your knees. However, my knees do graze it now and then. The seat utilizes simple clamping mechanism on the head tube which extends back toward the rider. The plastic seat sits on this and is at first very wobbley and unstable. But when I placed my child in it, I didnt notice it anymore. The seat sits right under the handle bars. So my child needs to slip down the seat and under the handle bar. There is also a plastic bar that goes across the lap of the child. It points straight up when opened and has a tendency to close when Im putting my child in. Children on the taller side of the scale might have a problem with their knees hitting the handle bars. I was able to move the seat back but only a little. Once my child was seated and belted in, I was impressed on how stable the ride is. And having my child in front of me is much more enjoyable than the back.

Pros: Ease of installation, comfortable/stable riding, child in front
Cons: Price, slight difficulty with seating child
Great invention     On: 2009-09-16

Easy to install. Very safe and easy to balence. Because they designed the weight to be on the front wheel and not the back wheel you avoid having the extra weight of the child toss the bike back and forth when peddling which could throw you off balence.
great carrier but no head support     On: 2009-09-16

I loved it for my 1 year old son, but he loves the motion so much that he fall asleep after half an hour. I have to use my left hand to hold his head while I am biking. Overall, it is a great product.
Awsome!     On: 2009-09-14

First review I have ever given on any product. That should tell you how much I love this thing. My 18 month old daughter is addicted to it! Every morning and every evening I hear the words "bike?" and "helmuu," which is her version of helmut. She cant get enough of it. I had to buy my wife a bike just to share the load. It is a great experience riding and interacting with your child. It will be a sad day for me when she outgrows this.

Gread Bike Seat!     On: 2009-09-12

This is the best bike seat I have ever used or seen! It keeps your child where you can see them and talk to them easily. It is easy to install and helps keep better balance on the bike than a rear bike seat. A must have for 1 to 2 year olds!
We love this seat!     On: 2009-09-11

I purchased the iBert seat after weeks of research between the different bike seats and also bike trailers. I liked the idea of having closer interaction with my child during our rides together. I didnt realize how easy it would be to have my daughter on my bike. I was used to the seats mounted on the back, and if the child moved you could feel every movement. With this I dont feel anything when she decides to go on a pointing spree. I like that I am able to hear all of the jibber jabber my little one has to say. This seat feels sturdy and mounted very easily. I like that I can remove it easily and ice cream and other things wash off nicely. Since this is a new style of seat Ive taken it around to different bike shops and let them look at it. One bike shop is trying to get it in their inventory after trying it out with my daughter in the seat. This seat is wonderful and I recommend it to all my friends who have children. Ive even given it as a baby shower gift to some of my friends. Im looking forward to many more years of use out of this seat.
Great product     On: 2009-09-11

This is a great product, my child and I love it. One thing you should know, however, is that you might have to raise your handle bars up. Doing so may require you to adjust your seat to maintain the comfort that you are accustomed to.
The Best!     On: 2009-09-10

I bought the iBert Safety Seat from Amazon about three months ago after reading other reviews. The iBert is simply the best. Super fun! Super safe. The only down side is my daughter is always wanting to go for a bike ride.
Great for a beach cruiser     On: 2009-09-10

My daughter and I love this seat. I bought it because I did not want to haul a heavy trailer.

It is installed on my beach cruiser and it fits perfectly - plenty of room for me to reach the handlebars and pedal without the bike seat in the way. I am 54" short. It was easy to install. I am surprised at how stable and natural it feels.

I bought it when she was 10 months old, but she was too small to use it. I started using it when she was just over 1 yr and she fit much better (she is average size).

So far we do short rides around the neighborhood in the evenings and weekends and I can take her 1.5 miles to daycare, and she loves it. She can also look up and see me and ring the bell. We can talk about the things we see on the ride, unlike if we had a trailer.

She has fallen asleep twice while riding. There is nowhere for her head to go, but to slump sideways. I have just supported her head with my hand for the few minutes it takes me to get home.

One very nice aspect to this seat is that it mounts on the bike stem, so when she grabs the handlebars, she cant get any torque to steer the bike.

Mine came with the padding for the seat.

Cons:
The shoulder straps are a little strange - they can slide off her shoulder, but this wont be a problem when she is bigger.

The bar that comes down over the childs lap has a cheap attachment mechanism. This ought to be fixed in the next models - it is not acceptable for a product this expensive.

In a light rain (like we encountered last weekend), water puddles in the bottom of the foot cups - I might drill a hole on the bottom of each one (we live in the Pacific NorthWest).
My Daughter LOVES it!     On: 2009-09-06

The I-Bert is terrific. If you are really tall however(my husband is 65) then you will hit your knees while peddling. But my daughter loves it, and I dont have any problems at all.
ibert bike seat     On: 2009-09-05

great seat baby loves it! one bad only is that if your short or with a belly it is hard to get on and off bike! BUT still loving it!
A Perfect Seat     On: 2009-09-05

I have a very active son who is now two and we live in a neighborhood that is perfect for a bike ride. I didnt trust the rear-mount seats because I couldnt see what my son was doing. The trailers that are sold are even more frightening! I read some of the other reviews on Amazon and this seat lives up to all the claims. My husband is 6 foot 5 inches and has very little trouble with his knees bumping the seat while riding. Our son just loves the seat and enjoys the wind in his hair. If you are in the market for a bike seat, this is the one to get. I cant say enough good things about this seat! The install was a snap...did it myself!!! I wish I had gotten this seat sooner!
Best child bike seat     On: 2009-09-04

The seat works great, it will give your child a whole new perspective on going for a bike ride.
Great bike seat (for my 13 month old)!     On: 2009-09-02

I really like this bike seat, it is easy to install, tools needed come with it. Light weight, very steady ride. It is a great fit for my daughter (13 months, 21 lbs) and I think we will get great use out of it. I hesitated purchasing the seat because I had doubts about the back support. The seat is actually a bit sunken and the back support is just fine, it covers my daughtes upper back.
Enjoying riding again!     On: 2009-09-02

I got this seat for my daughters birthday because rides with her in the tow-behind trailer resulted in stares from the neighbors as she screamed her way through the neighborhood. Now were laughing and talking and truly enjoying our time together!

It was very very easy to put on my mtn bike handlebar. The only real problem weve had was when my daughter thought she needed to hold the handlebars and I needed to let go (I did not let go). I also cannot see my bike computer but when Im riding with her, Im not too concerned about that.

I highly recommend this product.
not good for taller bikers     On: 2009-08-31

I loved the idea of the i-bert. Not available anywhere locally, I had to order it online and was thrilled to find it for a decent price on ebay. This turned to disappointment. I am 57" and I need to have my saddle on the lowest setting in order to safely ride with the ibert installed. Which makes it very uncomfortable to paddle and I am not able to use it for any kind of longer trips. Otherwise with the saddle at the correct height for me, its almost even with the ibert and I am not able to get safely and quickly on and off the saddle, because there is not enough space between the ibert and the saddle when they are almost at the same height. If you are shorter, this might work for you, as your saddle would be at a low setting anyway. Maybe its also the type of bike I have, but I am not going to get a different bike to accommodate a childs bike seat ...
iFun for the rider and the passenger     On: 2009-08-29

This is EASILY one of the best purchases ive made over the past year. I really dont know why we dont see more of these available at stores and on the road because the iBert opens up A WHOLE NEW WORLD to children once theyre riding shotgun.

The best selling points of this seat: 1. Its light, 2. its just the right size - its not bulky so you dont have to reach around the seat to grab the handle bars, 3. it doesnt interfere with your legs natural range of motion (you dont have to stick your knees out to ride with this), 4. its simple to mount.

Mounting the seat is a breeze, all you is 3/4" clearance on the bike stem in order to mount the seat. The anchor is bracketed with two hex-head bolts (all that you need to mount the seat is included) and once the anchor is attached to the stem, you slide the seat on and lock it in place. All of this literally takes about 3 minutes and anyone can do it. Next thing you know youre exploring the scenes with your little one. I cant think of a more enjoyable way to teach a baby/child about their surroundings. Worth every penny i spent on this seat!

This is a great product. Simple to switch between bikes. Very managable and is comfortable to ride with. My Daughter loves riding in this. I wish I would have bought it a year ago!!
Great seat for toddlers!     On: 2009-08-28

We were looking for an option where our daughter would be in front of the bike.
This is perfect: Easy to install, great stability when riding, and fits our little one well.
awesome     On: 2009-08-26

Bought this for my son when he was 7 months and he loves it, would definately recommend.
Pretty good, but not perfect.     On: 2009-08-25

I bought this seat a little over a month ago. Like other reviewers said, it is very easy to install. The seat seems pretty comfortable for my 2 1/2 year old. The padding could be better, to be honest. When we go over bumps (in Chicago the pavement is awful), she isnt a very happy camper. But the seat is comfortable enough that she enjoys a good hour ride.

This seat is definitely best on bigger bikes. I am 66" and mounted this to my 17" Specialized Hardrock Sport. I do notice that my knees brush against the seat. I honestly dont find this too annoying, but kinda wish I had gone with a 19" instead. I must also add that I had an extenter put under my handlebars to give an extra couple of inches. If you have a bike that handlebars adjust, you can might be able to avoid this problem.

Also, some complain about having to lower the seat. I have also done this. I lowered it to a height that I can stand tippy toe as this makes it easier to manuver when stopping or starting. The seat is probably only 1/2" below where I like it to be. It has been an adjustment, but one I have been willing to make.

Overall, I feel that pros of having her up front with me and sharing our experience outways the adjustments I have to get used to to use it. It is not a perfect invention, but I do like it much better than a rear mounted seat. I would recomend this seat to anyone.
Good buy overall     On: 2009-08-25

I agree with the large number of good reviews on the iBert front mounted child seat/carrier. My daughter loves riding on it along with me!

Some pros:
1) Product specs clearly specifies that the max. height is 41". IMO, this is a few inches more than other front carriers. Also the fact that they mention this explicitly is good.
2) Great bonding time + nice front view for kid.
3) Since I use it for work, I carry my lunch in the front carrier, when the child is not present. I find this easier than removing it each time.

Cons:
1) You will have to get used to pedaling a little outwards, since the seat will obstruct you. However it took me just a few days to get used to this.

Prospective buyers note that my chid is about ~39" tall and may out-grow the seat very very soon, although the max. height specified is 41".
Good but may not be right for all bikes     On: 2009-08-25

I loved this seat, until I tried to ride. It seems to be a wonderful product, safe, easy to install, my daughter loved it, but it just takes up too much room on my mountain bike frame, making getting on and off my bike very difficult and just not worth it. Too bad, I really like it! So, I rate 3 stars because it seems to be a well made product, but do some research on size to see if you can mount/dismount and pedal your bike while it is installed!
AWESOME BIKE SEAT!!     On: 2009-08-24

This is incredible bike seat for my 20 mo. old daughter! She loves it! We talk and sing while riding because she is so close to hear me. Its a wonderful product!!
Great seat     On: 2009-08-09

I was so excited to receive my iBert seat and start going on bike rides with my 9 month old daughter. I havent been going on regular bike rides since I was about 7 months pregnant.

I was surprised and pleased to find that the seat came with a free return-shipping label, in case you dont like it. Ive never seen Amazon do that before.

The install was simple, as promised. My daughter seems to really enjoy the ride.

There are a couple of negatives. I am a fairly tall woman (5 10"), and my knees do not fit under the seat. Im not sure if anyones would fit under. I was really hoping that they would; thats why I didnt go with other front mount seats. I do have to keep my knees splayed slightly to keep them from grazing the seat. It is not terribly uncomfortable, but it might become so on a very long ride. But for short jaunts around the neighborhood, it will work just fine.

The major negative in my opinion is that although the easy install is a great feature, it also means that the seat is easy to remove. I am a little afraid of it being stolen if I leave my bike locked up someplace. I think I am going to drill a couple of large holes through the seat so that I can put a cable lock through it and lock it to my bike. But for the price of this thing, I really think it should have come with a built-in theft deterrent system so that I wouldnt have to halfass something.

All in all, though, I do like the seat and would recommend it.

Good seat; some flaws     On: 2009-08-07

Ok, Youve probably read all the great things about this seat, which is why I wanted the seat. But herere a few things to watch out for:

1. If your bike is on the small side (Im 54" and about 135 lbs) then its possible your knees WILL bump the seat. Mine did and Im not a big person.

2. If your child is curious like my 16-month old is, he / she may want to play with the brakes, squeeze the brake CABLES (which applies brake pressure to the tires) or mess with the shifters during the ride.

3. The instructions that come with the seat are NOT clear. Luckily, its not too too hard to figure out how to put the seat on. But both times tech savvy guys put the seat on for me, they were unsure whether to put the seat on under the handle bars or over. Seems obvious, but it was not.

4. My bike does not have the proper handle bars for this seat. But its not clear (theres no disclaimer or warning notice) prior to buying the seat. So, now I have to buy a new bike or at the very least find new handle bars for my bike. I had to rent and borrow bikes for our first two rides.

Otherwise, the benefits are wonderful. Im hoping with my new bike or handlebars, that my knees wont hit the back of this seat.

My son enjoyed the ride.

The fun thing was when he looked up at me and I got to sneak a kiss during our ride! ;)

Enjoy! I still give it 5 stars!
Love this seat!!!     On: 2009-08-03

After doing a fair amount of research online and in stores I picked the i-Bert Safe-T front mounted seat and Im so glad I did! I was impressed immediately with how easy it was to install on my bike and Im not a very handy person when it comes to these types of things usually, but I had no problem and had it on within 10 minutes. Our 11 month old daughter absolutely loves it, she gets so excited everytime we start to put her in because she knows she going for a ride! She loves the view from up front, she points out all the birds and animals she sees along the way. I love how its not very big and bulky and its out of the way of my knees when Im pedalling. What really pushed me towards this carrier and not the other front mounted ones were all of the great reviews it got. This is one item that Im glad I spent a little extra money on and got exactly what I paid for.
Not for Short Women or Small Bike Frames!     On: 2009-07-21

As an avid former cyclist, I couldnt wait to get this on my bike and get back to some riding with my now one-year old. Unfortunately, this seat does not work for a short woman on a small bike frame!

I am 52" and attempted to put this on my mountain bike. When installed, the ibert does not leave any room for me to straddle the top tube. I couldnt get on the bike!

To get past this problem, I attempted to lower my seat out of normal riding position. With the seat in its bottom position, I could sort of hop and get one leg over. Now my knees are hitting the child seat cause Im so low and close to it! Without being able to put my feet down comfortably, how am I going to stop and keep my balance with the baby onboard?

I couldnt reach the gear shifts, either. I dont know how there would have been room for her torso and my upper body. I agree with the earlier review that suggested the company offer some guidance on bike sizes that are compatible with this seat. I am really disappointed to be returning this seat. Starting the search over again, for a bike seat that goes behind the bike. Not what I hoped for!

For anyone accustomed to riding with decent seat height so they can get a full leg extension as they pedal, this is not the seat for you. Avoid if you are of shorter stature!
Great product     On: 2009-07-17

This product is simply great. Super easy and quick to install, very secure for our 13month baby, comfortable to ride and our baby enjoys it! Had earlier bought a clumsy backseat from Bell that we ended up returning. Highly recommended.
The best bike seat ever!!     On: 2009-07-16

All I can say is this seat is lots of fun for both you and your child.
Smartest Child-Bike Seat Ever!!! The reviews are right...     On: 2009-07-15

We (my 17 month old son & I) absolutely love this seat. It fit perfectly on my K2 mountain bike and doesnt get in the way while Im pedaling. He feels really comfortable and has a blast as we cruise through the neigborhood and parks. People always look on in awe when they see us cruising by...and when people comment, Im sure to let them know what the Ibert Safe-T Seat is and where I got mine (Amazon...of course). This seat is pure genius, safe and a whole lot of fun!

Remember though, slap a helmet on your little one whenever on the bike...it could save his/her life if youre ever in an accident or wipe out.
Great product, tough to get on a cruiser     On: 2009-07-14

The ibert is a great product. Lots of "where did you get that" questions from other parents. ITs stable, and I think our son enjoys being able to watch the road. The only negative is that it was difficult to put on a cruiser bike because the handles sweep back. I was just barely able to get the pin in the bottom that hold it together.
An excellent seat     On: 2009-07-13

Kids will love this seat. They have an unlimited view forwards. It is nice to be able to keep your eyes on them, and held them between your arms. Being over the front wheel actually makes this easier to ride, versus a rear mount. This is because you can counteract their random motions with some slight steering adjustment. With a rear mount seat, if your kid looks out on one side, then swings over to look at the other side, your whole bike gets shaken around. On the front, they can just turn their head for a full 180 degree view.
The negatives are:
-the seat belt is a bit loose and floppy. It needs a better way to keep it up on your kids shoulders.
-when the seat is removed, do not crash, as the zinger may impale you. It is long, pointy and in just the wrong place for your stomach, or lower vitals.
-the seat can interfere with the front cabling.
-getting the seat on and off can be a pain with the fiddly lock pin. The pin is tiny, yet difficult to nudge off.
super fun for everyone!     On: 2009-07-08

This seat was unable to fit on our mountain bikes due to the short handle bar stem, but fits great on our beach cruiser. our son LOVES to go on bike rides and has a fabulous time in this seat.
It's nice, but not THAT nice.     On: 2009-07-08

I was seduced into ordering this because of all the high reviews. It attaches nicely to my non-suspension mountain bike. The bike is fit perfectly to me, (511" with longish legs), but I had to push my seat all the way back to keep my knees from hitting. Even with my seat all the way back, I had to adjust the clips on my shoes so my knees could pedal in an outward position without my feet popping out of my clipless pedals. But the main reason Im only giving 3 stars is because of the child harness. It is ABSURDLY engineered. VERY awkward to get a child in or out of this, or to quickly adjust it to fit different children. Havent the designers of iBert looked at ANY car seat, jogging stroller, or bike trailer harnesses? Theyll probably say they designed it like they did to save weight, but that is absurd, too. Even the addition of one more quick-release latch on the shoulder harness section would be a wonderful addition. (As it is, you have to loosen the shoulder harness, pull the loop over the kids head, and then retighten it. Bad enough as it is, and impossible if they have their helmet on already. This is obviously iBert 1.1. (I say 1.1 rather than 1.0 because they now include a seat pad with the seat, which is very nice). They really need an iBert 2.0 with a practical harness.
Anyway, I wish I could return this, but my kids love it. So Ill reluctantly keep it. But definitely not more than 3 stars.
Outstanding product! a must buy!!     On: 2009-07-07

this product is awesome! this is the first time i purchased something and had to go back a post a review about it. the seat is fantastic... everything you read on their site is true. easy to install and switch from bike to bike, well designed, quality materials, kids love it, i love it. this seat will make you want to ride all the time with your kids. i use it with my 1 year old @ 25 lbs and my 2.5 year old at 31 lbs. looking forward to many more fun bike rides. great product!
Great product     On: 2009-07-06

I purchased this seat so I could have my older son on a trail a bike behind me and my younger son up front. It is a sweet set up and my son loves riding in this seat. It was a snap to install it. My only complaint is you cant stand up when you go up hills and my knees do slightly touch it when I pedal but it is totally worth it.
Great idea, best bike seat available     On: 2009-07-06

Im giving this 5 starts mainly because my son and wife love it. Id give it 4 for some of the functionality issues below.

I used to work in a bike store and we heard too many bad stories about child bike seats in general. They make the bike awkward to handle and if you should have some accident, the child is going down with the bike. We always recommended bike trailers instead. So when I had my own baby, I went right out and bought a trailer. I took my 12 month old son out in it about 2-3 times. I think hes just too small right now and didnt seem to love it. He can see out, but not great and he really likes to look around. For comparison, he likes to ride (or should I say "be pushed") on his Kettler tricycle a lot more than being pushed in a baby jogger, Im guessing because of visibility because the baby jogger is a lot smoother.

So when my wifes friend told her about this, I was a bit skeptical. I cant say the iBert is any better as far as crash worthiness goes, but due to its position, there is much less impact on the bike handling. Plus my son (now 14 months) can look around easily and even interact to some degree with my wife. He loves going for rides in this. Installation was extremely easy (2 or 4 bolts, less than 5 min.), but if your stem isnt already in a good position for this, it would take a bit more work.

There are some downsides. First, the straps do not seem to fit very well. Our friend had this problem also. No matter how we position the adjuster, the straps seem to fall off his shoulders. Im really surprised they couldnt come up with a better system than what they have, maybe something more like car seats with a chest buckle. The straps are just too wide where they attach to the seat near the shoulders. Second, there is some impact on riding the bike and I could see where some people on some bikes might have fit problems and hit their knees or something.
Great bike seat- but it only fits on some bikes     On: 2009-07-06

I was hoping to put the bike seat on my husbands bike, but it did not fit. Luckily it fit on mine. It was easy to install. I take the seat off for storage and also for transporting on the car, and it has been very easy too. We started using it at 11 months old, and he has loved it. I am 57" and only have to adjust my pedaling a little. All in all a great seat!

check first     On: 2009-07-04

The iBert is an interesting design that needs some refining. First the mounting system only fits on old style quill neck handlebars. Most modern bikes have "treadless headsets" so it wont fit. Secondly there seems to be excessive play, allowing the seat to flop slightly side to side. Third the quick release mount leaves an 8 inch metal barb pointing at your groin when the seat is removed. I always remove two more bolts to remove the whole thing before I ride without the iBert seat.

On a positive note: My daughter love the iBert. She sits so much closer, we can talk about all the things she can now see when we ride. Its almost like she is now a co-rider instead of "luggage" in the back. I wish I had found a seat like this when she was younger, since at three she is about to out grow this one.

In closing: if you have an older quill neck mounted handlebar and feel confident as a rider on your own. cautiously try the iBert. Your child will love it.
Love it     On: 2009-07-01

Our 18 month old daughter loves this. It feels totally safe and fits our bike perfectly. The only thing about front bike seats in general is if your a short person, seeing over the helmet might be hard. or a tall person might have to open knees wider to keep from hitting them on the seat. Im 55 and it was perfect though. i would and do recommend this product
Fantastic     On: 2009-07-01

I got this for my daughter at 10 months. It was easy to put on my mountain bike. She is now 3.5 years old and we still use it (even though we are trying to get her on her own bike!). She loves it. It was a great investment for us - I can talk to her while we ride, I can point to things and she can hear me (and I can hear her), and it is super stable. The only part that is not so comfortable anymore is that now that shes getting taller (37"), the top of her head is starting to get too close to the bottom of my chin. But if I had a smaller/younger kid or if my handle bars were higher (if the grips were higher instead of all flat), it wouldnt be an issue. My knees barely touch the bottom of the seat (Im 510"), but its not a big deal and I can always just move my knees so they are slightly out if it starts to bug me. I really like the seat and much prefer it over the ones that sit on the back of the bike. Much easier to travel with than the big chariots/burleys also.
A Great Investment! Saved my baby's life!     On: 2009-06-29

My husband and I just recently bought bikes and I thought wed take our new baby seat out for a spin. Although I was excited for our first family ride together, I was also nervous. "What if the baby bike seat falls off?" Ive heard some horror stories. Also, my baby is only 7 months old, so another fear occured. "What if shes too small for the seat to properly protect her?" After a bit of practice, I put my doubts aside and headed on down the road with my baby. Sure enough, i came to a rough path in the road once we had ran out of sidewalk. Somehow, my foot didnt stay on the ground and we toubled down after i attempted to stop. Because this seat is in front of you, not behind, I was able to keep hold of the handlebars and hold her up, away from the ground, and the straps held her securely in her seat until my husband helped us up. This is an awesome and very safe seat, and in my opinion, it saved my girls life :)
Great product     On: 2009-06-28

Bought this for our son last year when he was 1.5 yrs old. Hes over 2 now and still fits in fine. So much better for the kid to ride in the front than the back. The only issue is that the space between the handle bar and this seats leg space is narrow, so its a bit tricky to slide the kid in with shoes on. Overall, a great design.
Digging it     On: 2009-06-27

I bought this over a year ago. And we use it about three times a week. Only thing I wish I could change is the harness. Many times I had to stop biking to slide it back on his shoulders. So it took me a while to get it right but now I dont have a problem. Still think the harness could be better. Other then that I love it and so does my son. I have never had any problems like other revewiers with my knees hitting the seat but my husband has. He said it didnt bother him. It has also fit our bikes... Cross Sprinter SE, Python Striker.
Lots of Fun!     On: 2009-06-26

This seat is so great. It was very easy to install and my 17 month old daughter loves to ride in the ibert.
mixed bag (or seat) but still great....     On: 2009-06-25

GOOD: my 15-month-old loves riding in it. She goes brrrrmm brrrm and tries to put her helmet on whenever she sees the bike now. It is a decent build and works as advertised.

BAD: I had 3 bikes and the stinger only fit one - my racing MTB. I left the stinger on once I went off road, and ended up impaling myself in a pretty bad way. Went to Home Depot for longer screws to fit my other bikes, no luck. Lowes had what I needed but the stinger kept hurting my legs. Eventually had buy a dedicated bike just for the iBert. The seat is great but if you plan on using your bike without it, prepare to get hurt.
Great so far, but a little warning for people who are not big riders, like me . . .     On: 2009-06-23

I got this for my son, and I will say it is comfortable for him, extremely easy to install, and over all a very good product. My son is 2 and 25 lbs, so I know I only get to use this for one season. I dont think Ive got the straps adjusted quite right for him, but I think that is MY issue, not the seats.

I am NOT a big bike rider. My husband gave me an Electra Townie (love it) for my birthday. The seat works really well on it, I have no problem with knee clearance (but I am short) but as a rather novice rider, having all that extra weight in front of me makes riding - especially getting going and turning - much more challenging. Im getting more used to it, but I just thought Id report.

I really like being able to talk to my son and point out things to him as were riding. He loves it.
I love the iBert     On: 2009-06-21

I am only 55 and my son is a 35" 27lb 17 month old. He fits with rooms to grow and my knees dont touch the seat. I have no problem with reaching the handle bar.We use a Point Beach Cruiser Schwinn that I bought at Wal-Mart. The iBert is well worth the money. [...]
Great seat; just one thing....     On: 2009-06-16

After lots of research on bike seats and reading lots of reviews, my husband and I decided to buy the IBert bike seat. I have an 18 month old daughter and wanted to get her outside more now that the weather is nice. The first time we put her in the seat, she cried and got scared a little, but as soon as my husband rode around with her she stopped crying and really seemed to like it. Shes been on it twice now and does seem to really like sitting up front and seeing everything. I love the design and the fit and the easy installation, however, I do have one complaint. The safety strap they have for it is hard to adjust and pull over her head. By the time we finally got it over her head and adjusted to her size she was freaking out a bit. Between that and putting on her safety helmet for the first time, it was a little traumatic. Thank God she loved the bike ride and seemed to forget about the strap and helmet. The seat is great though and I would definately recommend it to others.
A great idea     On: 2009-06-15

I looked at some other child seats and they were either behind the rider, or in front on the crossbar but bulky and over-engineered. By placing the child on the handlebar riser, there is a higher cener of gravity and it changes the way the bike handles, but I was used to it after a few minutes. My daughter has a lot of fun in this seat.
disappointing     On: 2009-06-14

Before ordering the iBert seat I read many of the reviews here, so I was a little hesitant. I thought it would probably be fine, though, and the idea is so brilliant that I ordered it. When it arrived a few days later, I was so excited that I immediately installed it, which only took a few minutes and very little skill. I then put my 18 month old son in, put his helmet on, and we went for a ride around the cul-de-sac.
My son LOVED riding in it. It was way more fun for him than in our bicycle trailer where he usually rides.
I am only 54", and I had to ride with my knees out, which was awkward. Also, because the seat attaches to the handlebar post, when I turned, even gently, the seat swings way out over my knee and I can not continue to pedal. I commute by bicycle with my child, so we would have used this seat a lot. These issues were serious enough that after thinking about it for a few days, I decided to return the seat. After a lot more research, I decided to get the Chariot Sidecarrier Chariot SideCarrier instead, even though it is far more expensive.

So to sum up, the iBert is a fantastic idea, a lot of fun for kids, but uncomfortable enough for the grown-up that I would not want to use it daily. I was really disappointed after having such high hopes.
Mostly great, but can be better     On: 2009-06-12

I bought this from Amazon for a couple of years based on the great reviews I read. While my experience is mostly positive, I want to share my experience that hopefully would help the would-be buyers and perhaps provide some useful feedback to the manufacturer.

* The whole seat is mounted to the bikes steering post by friction with several machine screws. With 20+ pounds of weight, it feels rather scary, but it works. Need to keep retightening after a while.

* There is barely enough clearance from the bottom of the seat to the top of (my) bike frame. I actually had to replace the lock ring on the bottom of the seat with a smaller size so that it does not catch the frame.

* With 20+ pound, it does hinder steering. It is harder to balance the bike to make quick steering corrections because the weight of the steering. It does work though and need getting use to.

* The buckle is cheap and not well made. The shoulder strap can easily fall of a childs shoulder due to the width of the two connecting points on the back of the seat. This can easily be improved. I would be willing to pay more for a five-point buckle like the ones found in most new child seats, highchairs use these days.

* There is no neck support for younger riders. The back support is a bit too low for small children. I think it is by-design so that the back is not too tall to hinder the rider. However, I think that it can definitely raise by about 6 inches.

* When not carrying a child, this becomes my make-shift shopping basket which is quite convenient on many occasions.

I am happy to have purchased this. My kids love it.

great product     On: 2009-06-12

It is easy to install and when in use, it is not cumbersome at all. I am short (52") so I dont have a problem with my knees hitting the seat, like some reviewers do. The bike is easy to steer even with the seat in place; the balance is good. However, this product does not fit all bikes, as other reviewers have noted. It did not fit my Schwinn mountain bike because the handlebar was not able to be raised to give the required 3/4 inch clearance on the handlebar stem (I thought I could raise the handlebar before I bought the bike seat, but when I actually tried to do this, I could not). I put the seat on a different bike instead. I bought this seat from Amazon, and it did come with the foam padding, which other reviewers stated was lacking in their seats.
awesome product     On: 2009-06-10

I bought this seat for a friend so we could go biking together around the neighborhood. Her youngest child is now one and I take him with me for a ride around the neighborhood. This product is great, easy to install on my bike and ppl around the neighborhood ask me where I bought this seat.
Works okay     On: 2009-06-08

I was originally intent on purchasing the WeeRide front-mount seat, but determined there was no way to mount it on my bike because there was no space between the top tube and the headset (I dont see how it would mount to any standard modern bike). I was concerned about how the iBert would affect the steering of the bike, so I initially discounted it.

However, I am fairly happy how the iBert has worked out. I was able to attach the iBert easily to a large Specialized FSR mountain bike. I did have to add an additional spacer to the steerer tube to create enough space for the iBert bracket.

In use, I would have the same complaints as several other reviews Ive read. First, there is no space between the iBert and the bike seat to stand over the bike when stopped -- and this is a large size bike. Its not a problem while moving, but be sure theres a curb to stand on if you need to come to a stop. Second, the strap to hold the child in place is really bad. Its designed to slip over the childs head and buckle in front, but when adjusted to fit reasonably well, it will BARELY go over my childs head when seated -- and there is no way it will go over with a helmet on (hes 10 months). Once on, the shoulder straps slide off and are just about useless.

Other than those two things, the seat it pretty nice. I was a little concerned the seat wouldnt fit under the flat bars I have, but it fit okay and I can still operate the shifting controls. I do notice the extra weight on the steering a little bit, but its not bad at all and you get used to it very quickly. Im 62", and I have to angle my knees out a little bit, but not enough to be uncomfortable while cruising. The seat sits so low that my knees sometimes hit the upper lip of the seat (not just the smooth bottom). I was also concerned that the low bars and long reach on my bike would cause my childs head to hit my chest, but that is not an issue at all.
Good but tough for stopping and starting     On: 2009-06-08

I really do like this however my biggest issues is that its tough to get on and off my bike. Im physically fit and have thought that someone overweight would have major issues. Its just that when Im riding along with the 3 y/o along side us (me and the 18 month old in the ibert) we have to stop at every intersection and getting on and off is a pain! Once Im on its great! So thats my only thought....
Greatest seat ever     On: 2009-06-05

After receiving this seat and an infant bike helmet one week ago, had it attached within 5 minutes, and have used it several times with my 12 month old daughter. I am 53" with a small-medium build and have had NO PROBLEM reaching the handle bars around her. I have a ladies mountain bike so maybe it would be difficult with bikes with smaller handle bars. I also have no problem getting on and off the bike. The first "take off" was a little awkward but now it is a breeze. There is adequate room between the ibert seat and my own seat. My daughter loves riding with me and can tolerate about 20 minute rides so far before she starts going crazy with the helmet and trying to tear it off. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this seat.
I couldn't say enough good about this bike seat!     On: 2009-06-04

This is, by far, the BEST baby bike seat out there! It fits nearly every bike, and it makes riding with a baby a LOT easier than a rear seat! The bike feels very balanced with this seat, unlike rear seats. My daughter also loves being able to see everything just like I do! No worries about my knees hitting the seat either - its very comfortable for both mommy and baby! The only thing I have to say is that if your baby falls asleep, then its awkward for them because they have nowhere to rest their heads. So I would wait until your baby is old enough to not fall asleep during the bike ride. I recommend this to every bike rider with an older baby or toddler! It is absolutely the best and worth every penny!
Excellent seat!     On: 2009-06-04

We just received our iBert seat this week, and it works great! My husband was able to install it quickly, and it fit perfectly on my bike. I am almost 59", and the seat doesnt interfere with my riding at all. My knees dont even come close to the seat. My 11-month old loves riding in it - he thinks it is so much fun. I really, really like having my son sitting in front of me. He can see so much, I like being able to talk to him and watch him, and it does not interfere with my control of the bike. It also barely changes the weight/balance of the bike. I would much rather use this seat than the ones that mount in back. The only negative is that I wish the seat back came up a bit higher. But, I see how they cant do that since it might interfere with shorter peoples visibility, etc. My son sits comfortably in it, and we both love riding together. Excellent bike seat!
iBert child bicycle seat     On: 2009-06-01

the best child bicycle seat in the market. Child sits safely in front of adult and can interact during a bike ride. It mounts very easily and securing child is easy, too.
Can't endorse enough     On: 2009-06-01

I want to preface this review with two points. First, I have never gone onto any website like this to endorse a product. Second, I have not been a regular bike rider for almost 20 years.

What I can tell you is simply this...if you have a small child (under 4) and are looking for a bike seat that a) does not interfere with your normal cycling style, b) is safe for your child, c) is easy/intuitive to set up, and d) your child will LOVE...I cant imagine a better product to purchase than the iBert.

My daughter (20 months old) has become addicted to her daily "buck-a-loo" rides. And as a consequence, daddy has become healthier because riding has become so much fun for both of us.

From an assembly standpoint, its important to note that I am someone who generally ends up giving up putting things together in frustration to my wife, who is more adept. That said, I had the seat put together (CONFIDENTLY) in about 15 minutes.

Once its in place, the rest is pretty easy. Your child puts their legs through, a strap comes over the head and can be tightened around both shoulders, and then a bar comes down over the childs lap. Strap a helmet on and youre good to go. I should mention that the strap is the one caveat about the product. At least for me, its been hard to get it so that it stays securely on both shoulders. But after a few weeks now of riding over gravel and grass bike paths, my kid is definitely secure, and happy.

So thats it. Just riding around Ive ended up telling at least a dozen people who have asked me about what the iBert is and how can they get one. If youre reading this review, youve already got that part down.

Good luck, and enjoy!
Best infant/toddler seat out there     On: 2009-06-01

When I first saw this seat in Parenting Magazine, I thought it was a very unsafe product. After researching several type of toddler seats I ran across the ibert again and read all the reviews about it and decided to give it a try. This is the best seat out there. This seat allows me to interact with my 15 month old well (besides her helmet getting in the way). She is able to look around and see everything that I can which I like. She normally will not sit still long but she did not complain during our 2 1/2 hour bike ride this afternoon. I will tell everyone that is looking for a childs bike seat to buy the ibert.
Great seat!     On: 2009-05-31

What a great idea! Having your child in front of you is so convenient! You can interact with him and know that he is safe without turning around. It is also more fun for the child because he can see where you are going instead of staring at your back or leaning trying to look around you. We were worried it would be hard to ride and steer with the seat on, but it is very easy. Our baby is six months old and he loves it!
Great for a kid livin' on the edge!     On: 2009-05-30

This seat is fantastic!! Only problem with a handlebar seat is that it leaves very little room for the parents legs so some accomodating is needed. But if your child loves the wind in their hair and is interested in looking at everything...this is the seat for them. Our three year old daughter has been loving this seat since she was 15 months old.
The best     On: 2009-05-27

It took me 3 minutes to install the iBert on my Giant mountain bike. My 17 month old son LOVES it. And so do I. Its great to have him sitting in front of me as we cruise the streets. He can see everything and says, "Hi" to all of the trees and cars and animals. The common response when we pass other people is, "that thing is so cool! I want one!!!".
Wobbly, doesn't fit some bikes and has no head support for child     On: 2009-05-26

We really liked the concept of this seat, but it just didnt work out. For one, our bikes stem could not be raised the required 3/4 inches, so I had to move the handlebars slightly off the top of the stem. The people at our local bike shop found this terrifying.

The seat wobbles and rattles a bit. It seems secure, but the feeling is unnerving. I emailed ibert and they said some people had put duct tape in to stabilize it, but why wouldnt they fix this themselves?

Aside from the difficulty of getting on the bike with so little space between the childs seat and yours, the biggest reason we ended up returning it is because theres NO support for the childs head when they fall asleep. Our daughter would last about 15 minutes before she fell asleep, then it was difficult to support her head and ride at the same time.

All the bike shops I went to thought that these front seats were a bad idea and now I see why.
LOVE IT!     On: 2009-05-25

Product is super easy to install, shipped quickly and baby Macie (10 months old when we got it) LOVES it! I have also taken the older two (2 1/2 and 4 1/2) out for a spin and they love it too! I am short, and have no problem with my legs around the seat.

Happy Riding!
Excellent     On: 2009-05-24

This is a great seat. It was easy to install and our 11 month old son loves it. I would definitely recommend it to my friends and family.
Love this seat!     On: 2009-05-23

I have tried bike trailers, a rear-mounted seat and this seat. This is by far my favorite. My kids love it and I love being able to interact with them on the ride. Both my kids fit in the seat. My daughter is 1 and half, and 20 pounds. My son is 4, 40 inches tall and 36 pounds. He is about to reach my chin so he wont be able to use it much longer but thats OK since he loves his trail-a-bike. The seat is great because my bike feels so much more balanced and easier to control than with a rear-mounted seat. I also had a hard time getting off my bike with a rear-mounted seat and hated not being able to see what my daughter was doing. In addition, with the iBert my son can ride his trail-a-bike behind us. Both my kids love biking with this set-up.

The iBert works on both my and my husbands bikes. Our bikes are Trek 4500 mountain bikes. It does not interfere with our pedaling at all; our knees do not touch the seat.

One negative is that it would be difficult for a small child to sleep, but this is not a problem for us as my daughter loves to bike so much and finds it so exciting she never falls asleep in the iBert. Also, you should know that the iBert does not work with all bikes and riders; it did not work for my friend as it interfered with her pedaling. You should give it a try though because if it works for you and your bike, it is an awesome seat. I did a lot of research and it was the only one I could find that in most cases does not interfere with pedaling.
Didn't fit our bikes     On: 2009-05-21

We really like the idea, but it fit neither of our bikes, even though theyre both supposedly compatible - a hybrid and a mountain bike, both full-size, pretty standard, mid-range bikes. We are both year-round bicycle commuters who log thousands of miles on our bikes. On the hybrid it got in the way of her knees and she couldnt mount the bike or straddle it any more, and on my mountain bike it interfered with the gear shift levers and put the kids head in my chin.

I suspect this seat is really designed for "low-end" bikes with high handlebars, or for weekend casual riders who have their bikes adjusted for "comfort" rather than good riding.
My daughter loves this seat!     On: 2009-05-18

My daughter is 14 months old, and she loves riding my husbands bike in the safe-t seat. Weve had it for abut a month now, and she wants to go riding every time she sees the bikes now. My husband says that the balance of the bike is affected very little, because her weight is distributed over the middle of the bike. At first he did worry about turning to look behind him, but now hes used to her.

Our only concern with the seat is the straps. You have to cinch them really high up on her shoulders or they fall off.
Great Child Seat     On: 2009-05-16

After reading previous reviews, I was concerned about the clearance between my bike seat and the iBert as well as the potential to hit the seat with my knees while pedaling. The seat is mounted on a smaller frame mountian bike (Im 58" so the top tube isnt very long) and I do not have any issues at all. My son loves it. I can see where and what he is looking at or pointing to and I can talk to him while we ride. The bike handles amazingly well. The newer seats have a thin foam pad lining that is a great improvement. I highly recommend the iBert.

One last note - The seat bracket clamps around the tube at the top of the fork between the headset and the stem. This may require spacers in your headset. If you have no experience with building bikes or are a little on the mechanically challenged side this may require a trip to your local bike shop.
Not perfect, but gets the job done     On: 2009-05-15

Pros:
The seat is pretty easy to install. My 19 month old baby enjoys our rides just as much as I do. Best design for a bike seat Ive seen so far.

Cons:
The seat belt is not the most convenient/comfortable one to use. I am 59" and my knees do scrape the back of the chair now and then. With the seat removed, the metal mounting arm can hit your knees when making a turn on your bike.

Bottom line: I am happy with my purchase and have no regrets. The design is not perfect, but I can put up with a little inconvenience so that my baby can ride with me in front.
Has postives and negatives     On: 2009-05-11

This bike seat is unique.

Positives:
it does not interfere with steering, and my 30 pound toddler LOVES the ride.

Negatives:

I am 58 and on a Iron Horse and Columbia mens style bike the I-Bert is not usable unless the seat is dropped all the way to the frame. If the seat is raised one is unable to maneuver and getting on and off the bike is nearly impossible.

The compromise of dropping the seat cured any issues, and riding has not been a problem hills are a little more difficult however.

So far this a a good alternative to the trailer and rear sitting seats.
Best infant seat on the market!     On: 2009-05-09

I did ALOT of research between front and back baby carriers and this by far is the best one out there, it is definitely well worth the money. I am so happy I bought this one. I also have a rear child seat and I dont like it because I can not see what my child is doing. With this one I can talk or sing to him while riding. Also it doesnt interfere with my steering or pedaling at all. Great product.
How to lose your baby weight, fast!!!     On: 2009-05-08

I bought this for my 2 year old and I to ride together. I have a 6 month old who can use it when my 2 year old gets too big. I absolutely love it and so does my daughter. I can talk to her and vice versa. Its gotta be one of the coolest gadgets ever. Since I started using it I have lost the remainer of the weight from my second baby. It motivates me to get out there are ride the bike becuase my daughter always asks to go for a bike ride and since there is an extra 30 lbs on the bike I am burning more calories. Highly recommend this product!
Mixed results     On: 2009-05-07

We got the iBert because it was well reviewed and supposed to be a well build front mounted childs bike seat that avoided disadvantages of other models (supposed to be easy to take on on off, avoids having to ride with legs bowed around it, etc.). Our daughter loves the seat, it was indeed very easy to install and take off, and I enjoy riding with her in front. It also balances the bike well and feels safe when riding. However, the shoulder straps dont stay on well at all (on a small child with tiny shoulders), and at only 60 tall, I still have to bow my legs to avoid banging my knees on the bottom of the seat. That means I cant take rides that are too long or at all strenuous because my knees ache.

I ride a hybrid bike from REI, and would think the dimensions would be normal for the iBert - so be careful to check things out if you have legs that are even somewhat long. We will be keeping the iBert just because of the fun factor, but I am disappointed by the fact that I paid more for the seat than other similar models and didnt get the benefit that I thought I was paying for.
A great front mounted-seat     On: 2009-05-07

A great seat, We love it, you dont feel the weight of your baby unlike rear seat. It looks like any kind of bike might fit. Our baby likes it, hes 22 months. It looks safer than a rear seat since you got full control of your kid.
Your child will have SO much fun     On: 2009-05-06

This seat is so much fun, for the parent and the child. First time out, My little boy was having a blast. As a child fun because he gets to sit in front and see everything that I do. As a parent, its great and non-inhibitive.
great product     On: 2009-05-06

I love how the bar can lift up to put your child in. We really like how our child has the front view. Very easy to set up.
Excellent Product     On: 2009-05-06

I bought the ibert few weeks ago and I am loving it! My daughter is 15 months, and she enjoys it a lot. I am not particularly athletic, I am 5-7" and I have a hybrid bike. The ibert is easy to install. Easy to get the child in and out of it, and when you ride, you dont even notice the extra weight. I like the fact that my daughter is in the front because that provides better control of the bike than if she was in a rear seat. Also, I can see her through the mirror. The only problem is that she wants to manouver the bike and keeps trying to take my hands off the handles! This product is excellent. I would suggest the manufacturer to make the inserts for the strap in the back a little bit more close together, so the strap sits well on the childs shoulders.
The Absolute BEST!     On: 2009-05-05

Installed this product in two minutes...cant believe how easy it is! Put my 2 year old in it, and went for a bike ride 5 minutes after it was delivered to my house! This is absolutely the BEST bike seat...my 2 year old didnt want to get off the bike! Now I can ride more, because my son can go with Sissy, Mommy and Daddy! Thought about buying a "cheaper" bike seat, and Im really glad I didnt...the iBert is great!
I LOVE this seat and so does my daughter!     On: 2009-05-05

After a lot of research about trailers versus seats, I decided to order this seat. My husband was amazed when he came home, and I had installed it myself. It is adorable, super easy to install, and all around perfect. I use it almost every day with my daughter (who is a little over a year) on my cruiser bike. I really love that my daughter is right between my arms, and we can interact on our rides. I can see her waving and squealing with excitement during our rides. This seat rocks.
iBert Child Bicycle Seat     On: 2009-05-02

This seat is AWESOME! It is easy to install, the child loves it and the parent riding the bike loves it because you can still ride the bike and have the interaction with the child. This is much better than a rear seat and makes a bike ride much more enjoyable.
Great Purchase, easy to install and use...!     On: 2009-04-28

It is very easy to install, and works great.

The only drawback, as stated in other reviews, is that my baby feets got stuck during the boarding process.

Other than that, she enjoys the ride a lot!
Just used for the first time...     On: 2009-04-25

We just got back from our bike ride with our 15-month old, and we had an absolute blast! We purchased the iBert bike seat from amazon.com a few weeks ago, and initially I was curious as to how it would work for us. Considering the great review from the amazon.com customers, we knew it would be good. It has proved to be one of the best purchases weve made this year. It installs in about 5 mins, and works so well. Take our advice, dont buy a rear-bike seat... but the iBert!
Excellent product     On: 2009-04-22

I only wish I had found it sooner as my son just turned two and will soon grow out of it. But I am sure that we will enjoy it for the whole of summer. The only problem is the shoulder straps which slide off. All in all, a good product and would recommend to anyone interested in a bike seat.
Great bike seat!     On: 2009-04-21

We purchased this bike seat after reading many reviews. My husband had it on his bike in 5 minutes and we could not believe how easy it was to put together. Our son is 13 months old and loves riding around town on the front of the bike. He has a great view, and it is easy to talk to him while riding. He even tilts his head back to get kisses- so cute! We get so many comments in the neighborhood, seeing a cute little boy on the front of a bike seems to make everyone smile. My husband is 6 feet tall, and he needs to ride with his knees out to the side a little to accommodate the bike seat. We have had so much fun riding around as a family, I highly recommend this iBert bike seat.
Great seat!     On: 2009-04-20

We purchased this for our 2 1/2 year old. Hes just about 30lbs. Weve used it on my bike as well as my wifes and we both have found it to be a wonderful way to take our toddler with us. He absolutely loves to go on bike rides with us and his 4 1/2 year old sister.

Like other reviewers, we feel this seat is much better than the one you install behind the seat on top of the rear wheel. When we are biking, my son is inches away from my head. It is so easy to talk to each other as he sees and wonders at his surroundings. Also, he gets a great view without obstructions. Im 62", 275lbs, and I have no problems with my legs hitting the seat. Even when they brush the sides, the seat is smooth and rounded so its not a big deal. Have had no issues. Installation is very simple and a hex key tool is included to install. My bike has a very wide head tube for the handlebar while my wifes has a normal head tube and the T-bar installs with no problem on both. Taking the seat on & off the T-bar is very easy, takes seconds. I personally take the T-bar off the bike if the seat is not on it. I dont think I would want to slide into that if I accidently slid off the bike. :-)

My wife is 54", 122lbs and she also has no problems.

Only word of caution that we would add is that it does alter the weight of the bike and stopping and starting requires a little more effort and forethought, especially for my wife. HIGHLY recommend this seat to get your toddler out there with you on family bike rides.
So the baby can see better - is that enough?     On: 2009-04-03

How well you will like this seat depends on your particular bike frame. Some people dont have the same problems that I have. I recommend going to a bike shop that sells them if you can and try it on your bike. I personally feel its only worth buying if you already have a rear mounted bike seat and need a front one because you have 2 little kids.

PROS:
* People like the seat and you will get lots of attention
* The seat is super easy to install and remove if you want to bike without the seat.
* The baby has an unobstructed view.
* Its easy to steer and handle the bike even though it doesnt look like it would be

CONS
1. For me personally, it makes me feel claustrophobic. Im 57" and have a cruiser type bike. My knees hit the seat unless I open my legs a little. Its manageable but annoying and not good for long rides.

2. You have to keep your seat low so that you can touch the ground at stop signs. I cant get off my seat and straddle the bike because the ibert is in the way. This makes it more work to pedal.

3. The seat is overpriced. It is cheaply made of plastic with no padding for the child.

4. The back of the seat is too low so the child cant lean back and sleep. Why not just make it taller??

5. The seat wobbles a bit.

6. The seat belt is very cheap and flimsy. Its not like a regular stroller harness. Its hard to describe but all I know is I cant get it to stay on my babys shoulders right.

GREAT FUN!     On: 2009-04-03

followed the reviews and bought this seat. How could so many people be wrong? They werent! My 12 month old daughter wasnt quite sure about it on the first ride, no tears but no smiles either, I think she was taking it all in. But now she points to my bike and the seat everytime she sees it and wants to go for a ride. She pulls the green bar down over her lap before I can and stays really still while I put her helmet on. This seat is going to make our summer so much fun!!

It is so easy to manuver the bike with it on, it doesnt effect the riders vision, and my knees arent bothered either. I highly recommend it!

I guess if I had to come up with a negative thought it would be that when my daughter gets sleepy, her head begins to rest on one of my arms.

Great bike seat     On: 2009-03-27

Our son loves this bike seat! The only issue is that it did not come with the pad, apparently we got sent an older version.
BEST BIKE SEAT EVER     On: 2009-03-27

This is a fantastic product! My daughter LOVES going for bike rides, pointing out every mailbox, fire hydrant, tree, etc. that she sees and looking up at mommy for acknowledgement! I can actually converse with her and keep an eye on her. Its such a great bonding experience as well. And the bike is so easy to handle with the seat attached. Were looking forward to warmer weather so we can make full use of it!!
Great little seat!     On: 2009-03-26

I bought this seat after researching several varieties. My son didnt like any of the bike trailers we tried but LOVES this seat. The plastic seems like it would be uncomfortable but he never complained.

I am 56" and it fits my mountain bike fine and I feel I have enough room to brake, steer and safely step off at stops. I did have to make adjustments to the angle of my handle bars and to the brake and gear shift to make room for his legs to slide through without being scratched. The first few times I used it I made my husband help me but found it was just as easy to do it myself.

Its also really nice having your face right next to your childs head. Makes for very easy conversation and you know right away if they are unhappy. Sure being up front he could get hit by the occasional bug but never seemed to and as for gravel flying up and hitting him, that has never happened to me so I wasnt concerned for his safety in this regard.

I couldnt have been happier with my purchase and am very sad that he has grown out of it this year. Oh well, Ill have no problem selling it and recouping most of my money!!!
Excellent Seat- I love it!     On: 2009-03-26

I absolutely love this seat! I read all the reviews on so many seats and am positive I chose the right one. It was extremely easy and fast to attach to my bike and is quick and easy to take off if you need to. (Unlike the seats that attach in the rear.) I have no problem seeing over my one year olds head with a helmet and have no problem steering. It is actually easier to ride him in the front than the back and he sits longer since he has a great view! My son loves this seat and so do I. I would buy it over and over again. Well worth every penny!
Best front mounted I've tried...but     On: 2009-03-26

the pad is not included like it shows in the picture. You can purchase them directly from the ibert website for around $9 including shipping. The hex key was missing from my box but I have a bike tool so it wasnt a huge deal but if you didnt have one, it would be very frustrating. It wont fit on every bike. It fits on mine but does not fit my husbands bike. The WeeRide wouldnt fit either of our bikes. Assembly was a snap. I give it a zero stars for comfort...hard slick plastic. I can only imagine she will get hot and sweaty sticking to it. It feels a little wobbly when my daughter isnt in it and rattles. I still like it better than having her in the back. I think its very over priced and especially having to spend more to get a pad...that should be included. I wont be riding with the seat off and stinger attached...it looks like it could really hurt someone. Its not hard to take off and put back on, just risk scratching up your spacers every time. I will probably put tape under it to protect the bike a little. I think its a good idea and like someone else said, were basically paying for the idea because there really isnt anything to this seat. I would have given it another star or two if the pad came with it like it shows in the picture. The fact that I have to go to their site and order it is irritating. It should not be an accessory. I would have liked to know this ahead of time so I could have ordered them at the same time. Its still cheaper to order from Amazon with free shipping and then go order the pad.
SOOOO glad we chose ibert!!!!!     On: 2009-03-25

We love this bike seat!!! We were looking at many styles of seat front and back. Because of all the great reviews we choose ibert. I am so glad. We love it!! My knees dont hit, I can interact with my son while we ride, he can see all thats going on. He squeals every time I get out the bike!! The only downside is that its time to go home when its nap time... Not for long rides out. Hell get tired and there is no place for him to rest his head. Not a problem though. We just go home. Best seat out there!
Great seat - worth every penny!     On: 2009-03-17

I cant say enough great things about this seat. I just bought a Trek 7000 bike for myself and wanted to be able to take my 2 year old son with me. This seat was easy to install - took all of 4 minutes. Its sturdy and I have no worries about the safety of this seat.

It is fantastic having my son right in front of me, nestled right in front of my chest. Makes it so easy to point out sights or talk. Im a 61" and have no problems with bumping my knees or anything. My son is on the smaller side and I think will likely be able to sit in this seat until hes 3 1/2 or so.

I suggest putting a small pouch bag on the handlebars and filling with snacks - my son could reach the bag and have a snack or juice box without me having to stop.
Simply a must buy! Most fun I've had on my bike in years!     On: 2009-03-16

I was skeptical at first but after reading all these reviews I was able to convince my wife that this is a safe and enjoyable way for me to take our 20-month old son out on my bike. I researched bike trailers for a months but none of them seemed appealing to me (the ride would seem so detached).

Anyway, when this arrived, I couldnt wait to install it. Even though I had to make a few adjustments to my handlebars, it still only took me a few minutes to get this seat on.

Ive used this every day I can and both my son and I love our time together on my bike. Its a great way for us to bond and we play "i-spy" while were riding. With the weather slowly getting nicer, Im really looking forward to taking him on rides at various parks in the area.

I only wish I bought this sooner since I think I only have this summer left before he outgrows it. Next year will be my daughters turn with me!
Great seat even if your are short!     On: 2009-03-16

I read many reviews about this seat, other seats and even trailers. I decided to purchase this seat based on reviews and the information provided at the ibert web site. My 5 1/2 month rode in it for the first time this past weekend. He weighs about 17 pounds, and absolutely loved it. He complained anytime I stopped, or if I went over large bumps. He has much room to grow in it. I purchased a hybrid womans comfort bike at the same time. I am only 51", and it works great for me!
Great control, visibility, and fun!     On: 2009-03-10

I was skeptical when I saw the picture of this seat because it didnt seem sturdy enough. However, after extensive reviews and even a video I found online, I went ahead and purchased the seat. WOW. I love it - my son is 2 years old and about 28 lbs and he LOVES it. We get "Wow" and "Awesome" when we ride it in town. I feel that the way the seat is mounted on the steering column makes this a sturdy choice that helps to control the excess weight (i.e. the child!) and prevents it from tipping out of control. The bicycle shop told me condescendingly that these are "unsafe" but after reading the reviews, I felt the rear mounted ones would be more of a hazard for me for balance and tipping. I didnt take their advice (of course they told me it was unsafe b/c they only sold rear mounted seats) and I went with the parents reviews on amazon and I was so pleased with the purchase. The only complaint I have is the straps - they can fall off the childs shoulders but if you have a velcro belt or any adjustable belt, and fasten the two straps by the childs shoulder blades, it works perfectly well. I love that I can interact with my son, and that I can see exactly what he is up to. Great product!
The BEST!     On: 2009-03-07

I have tried many seats but they have never worked on my bike, not only does this one work, but it was so easy to put on and my daughter loves it. I never thought it would be so easy and successful.
LOve it!     On: 2009-03-04

Its great , just make sure that your baby will be up for a while, its a bit uncomfortable if falls asleep on the chair.
Love it     On: 2009-02-18

I loved this my son hated the bike seat you attach to the back all he could see was my back also we could not talk back and forth like the Ibert. My son outgrew this and I will miss riding him around it was so nive being able to point stuff out to him. The only draw back was the pin you secure the seat on with it wa so hard to get on and off. But is was so worth it. before purchasing this we had the weeride(cheaper). thats what made me want to try this, it looked like it would work better the adult has more room with the ibert. This product is soo much better. You would think steering would be a problem but is was not also the bike was steadier than with the back mounted seats that want to tip over. if you are not sure buy it and try it.
Greaty Child Bicycle Seat     On: 2009-02-18

I have to admit I wasnt sure this was going to work good, I figured it would be difficult for my wife or myself to see over my son with him on the front. However, even for my wife who is only 53" its not a problem at all. My little one loves going for rides with us in his seat. It also seems to be safe. My wife once stumbled while getting off the bike and my son was held in securely and didnt get so much as a scratch.
Great kid seat. Minimal modifications necessary!     On: 2009-02-08

I highly recommend this seat. It easily attaches and detaches. Once I figured out how to adjust the kid harness, it goes on quick and easy now. I put this on a mountain bike. My original handlebar stem was too low. I bought a cheap stem that rises higher for about $10. Now the seat is higher, my riding position is higher, and my knees dont hit the seat! My chest doesnt hit my kids head now, either. She loves it. I can talk to her, I can see what shes pointing at and explain it to her, and she rings our little bell when shes getting bored. It makes cycling very interactive and she cant get enough of it.
Ive had this over a year and its held up great.
Wish I had bought it sooner!     On: 2009-02-05

This is a great product! My 3 year old loves it. It is very comfortable to ride with, and doesnt interfere with your balance at all. My daughter is 38 months and probably wont be able to sit in it more than 5 or 6 more months. Her legs are already looking a little tight in the seat. It is very very easy to take on and off.
Front mounted child seat     On: 2009-01-29

My wife and I love it. I feel more aware of how our child is feeling without having to turn around and see and he loves it because he gets to reach out and touch the handle bars and see his mom more easily.

Maybe good for cruising     On: 2009-01-14

If you intend to get any kind of decent workout, while riding around with your kid... do not pick this bike seat! I have six bikes. Due to clearance issues, this seat would only fit on one of the six. It will probably work with most cruiser bikes. The position of the seat forces you to pedal with your knees spread out, which is ok for a while, but gets uncomfortable after 10 minutes or so. The rear mounted seats are much better IMHO.
iBert Child Seat , two thumbs up!     On: 2008-12-25

Easy to install and my son loves it! This is the coolest seat ever. Everywhere we go, you can hear people make comments about how neat the seat is while we are riding by. It really gives you a chance to interact with your child while riding the bicycle and you dont have to keep looking behind you to see if they are ok. I highly recommend the iBert.
Great product. Tons of fun.     On: 2008-12-16

The iBert seat is awesome. Its great to be able to have your child sitting in front of you (securely) and enjoy the bike ride together. Much better than towing them in a burlee in my opinion. You can talk to him/her the whole time. I really enjoy going for bike rides with my daughter now. Its a blast. Worth every penny.

*NOTE - depending on your handle bars and stem it could be a tight fit. will work best on a bike that has riser bars (swoop up on either end from the center) and a stem that is angled up 10+ degrees. If you have straight bars and a zero degree stem, it may not work for you.
Absolutely a great seat.     On: 2008-12-15

My wife bought this for me from Safe Babies Plus because they had the best price. My son loves being able to see everything & where he is going instead of staring at my back like he was with the old seat I had. I have a Specialized Mountain Bike & it is so easy to put on & take off the bike. It fits great & DOES NOT interfere with my steering. This was a great gift. I recommend this to all that ask about it.
Great Bike Seat     On: 2008-12-14

Our 10 month old loves this seat. Its incredibly easy to install, doesnt interfere at all with your control of the bike, and gives your child a chance to see whats going on (vs. being stuck in an enclosed cage behind your back tire as in a trailer, or sitting behind your back as in a rear-mounted seat.
Highly recommended.
You won't regret this purchase!!     On: 2008-11-23

We love this product! We bought it for our 12-month old son as his first bike seat. And he lOVES it! Its great for him to ride without having to face daddys back. And my husband had a pretty easy time putting it together as well. Buy it! Enjoy it!
We Love This Bike Carrier!     On: 2008-11-23

We love this bike carrier, and its been awesome having it. The only design flaw I would note is the placement of the shoulder strap. Because of where the strap is attached to the back of the seat, it always falls off the shoulders of my daughter. Otherwise, I would recommend this seat before any bike carrier where its placement is behind the bike seat.
Fabulous product but didn't work for me.     On: 2008-11-16

I absolutely LOVE the design of this product! I thought having my child up front would be perfect, both for her to learn how it feels to ride a bike and to have close interaction. Unfortunately, it didnt fit my bike (a 2008 Giant Sedona). There wasnt enough clearance between the back of her seat and the front of mine. I felt very precarious every time I needed to stop and put my feet down. Im a small person, but I needed at least another inch to feel like I could quickly and safely make a stop. I think the frame of my bike angles back more than others and it just put the seat too close. So disappointed! PS-This item was VERY easy to install. I did it myself in just minutes!
Great seat! (as long as it fits)     On: 2008-11-14

We received our Ibert about a month ago. It is a great seat, but you sort of have to luck out on the geometry.

My bike is an older Trek mountain bike with fairly low handlebars meaning the rider is leaned fairly far forward so I was worried about everything fitting. Installation was very simple and thankfully when we did the test drives with each of the kids (who think the seat is AWESOME!) I just fit. My knees just barely brush the seat, but for the most part I can ride normally with clippless shoes or normal shoes. Pedalling normally my chin is just above my older daughters helmet. Standing up to pedal is possible, but it is a bit wierd feeling and my kids head ends up boucing back and forth between my arms. It is a little tight getting off the seat at a stop (in order to put feet flat on the ground), but if I turn the handlebars 45 degrees one way or the other then it is no problem. So, for short stops I just stay on the seat and somewhat uncomfortably hold the bike up with my toes, otherwise the handlebar angle method works well.

Now for the bad news... my wife, who has more leg and less torso as opposed to me who is the opposite, cant use the seat at all. Her knees just wont fit. So, unfortunately this seat is just a matter of finding out whether it will work with your bike and your body. The other downer is that the seat-belts are really poor, it all works fine it is just amazing that they put such a cheap setup in.

In conclusion, as long as it fits (and ignoring the minor seatbelt complaint) this seat is great! The balance is very nice, the kid loves the view, and the seat pops off easily when not in use. Thumbs up.
I Can Ride Again!!!     On: 2008-11-11

My son just turned 11 months and he LOVES this seat! I had been riding my bike and exercising soooo much less since my son was born, and I was desperate to get back into a biking routine. Bringing my son along is usually the only option. I first got a bike trailer that wheels along behind the bike. He wouldnt smile or make a sound in the trailer; he couldnt easily see anything outside the trailer except my back tire kicking up pebbles, and I couldnt see him without getting off the bike and looking. The trailer got two uses before I found the iBert seat. Now my son smiles, he laughs, he sings and he sees everything I see. I can talk to him, I can point things out. I dont know about him, but I feel I am actually riding WITH him instead of him just tagging along. With the iBert seat, it has become a SHARED experience. Im 511"; my son is about 32". You must have 3/4" of space on your handle bar stem for this to work. The seat is easy on and easy off for the times I want to ride alone. Leg room is no problem at all. The only issue for me is that Ive installed this on a mountain bike where I have to bend over a little. Because of this, my chest probably pushes my sons head forward a couple inches from where it would be naturally. Not a huge deal, though, and it certainly hasnt kept me from just loving this seat.
Exactly what I needed     On: 2008-11-03

I bought this iBert after reading reviews of many different types of seats and trailers. My son is 7 months old and he loves bike rides! Hes 26" tall and will be riding in this iBert for a long long time. Definitely make sure your child is able to hold his/her head very well, the bouncing of the bike would be rough for the newly sitting babies. I have a Trek 3-speed cruiser bike. The iBert clamps to the steer tube and turns as I turn. Its very well centered so it doesnt affect my balance or steering ability. I havent hit my knees at all. I read that as your baby gets heavier, steering and balance may be affected. I put a 26 pound, 2-year old in there and it still did fine. She even had growing room for her feet. The box says up to 42" tall. Also, you can get extra parts from the iBert website. I got the pad for the seat, the seat I bought here didnt come with one. I would recommend this seat to anyone. You can see your child, talk to him/her, and know if they fall asleep :)
Riding is so much fun now!!!     On: 2008-10-24

We purchased the iBert a couple of months ago and have fallen in love with it. It is so nice to have our daughter (15 months) in front of us where we can see her while we are riding. She loves to point at things while we are riding. I can now see her do that and know what she is pointing at. She can also talk to me and I can hear her since she is right there in front of me. The only problem that I have found is that I have longer legs and my knees do bump the seat just a little. Of course, not enough for it to be a problem. Love it and recommend it for everyone!!! A must have if you like cycling.
This is the one     On: 2008-10-18

Riding a bike with my 12 month boy has always been on my wish list. However all the rear mounted seats that I saw were boring from the childs perspective. What fun is it to stare at mamas back all the time ? Also there is limited interaction with the child when they are at the back especially when you want to point and show them something. The ibert seemed perfect when I reviewed it online and when I received it promptly from Amazon I was not disappointed. First you have to admire the simple design and the bold green color. In hind sight no other color would have done justice to the seat. Secondly the installation was a breeze. I normally would have waited to put this in my husbands "honey-do" list but I was so eager to ride the bike with my son that I installed it myself. It took me a total of 20 min and that was because I put the T-bar the wrong way the first time and had to reinstall it again. There is also no question that it is really safe once you understand how the ibert fits on the bike My son loves to sit in the child seat and ever since it has been installed we have been doing daily trips down the trail and riding it to the park. Once he even fell asleep in it ! The price may be little more than other seats in the market but it is worth it for the good design and the simple installation. You will get good use out of the seat. My son could probably use this till he is 3-4 years old. If you ever think of getting a child seat for your kid this is the one hands down.
Phone home     On: 2008-10-15

My favorite part about this seat is that when I put my baby boy in it, I feel like Elliot from the movie "E.T.". I usually put a blanket over my sons head when we ride in order to get the full "E.T." effect. My son loves Reeces Pieces too, which makes it all even better. I wish his finger lit up. Hes pretty much worthless. But the seat is great.
Almost perfect!     On: 2008-10-15

I got this for my 18mo. old boy after reading all the reviews for rear mounted seats and then came across the iBert. It all makes so much sense to have your kid on the front. We interact easily when hes in front without him looking at my butt the whole time if he were in the back. I can see where hes looking and pointing and curious about things. Incredibly easy to attach and then remove the seat with the pull of a single cotter pin. The additional weight and balance for me is barely noticeable once you get going, and I can also easily put him in and take him out on my own. The only drawbacks for me are that I have a 12 speed Bianchi roadbike and I needed to turn the handlebars upward to make me more upright. When I first took him out before that, my chest was bumping and pushing his head forward a little bit. So while this solution works fine the iBert is definitely more suitable for an upright style bike like a mountain bike or a cruiser. Additionally, my legs do brush along the sides of the seat, but again, i got used to it very quickly-its not uncomfortable-just different. Even with those two cons, the pros far surpassed my expectations and there is nothing better then taking a ride with your little man.
Sweet solution for families     On: 2008-10-13

My wife, who doesnt ride a bike frequently, had no problem adjusting to this setup. It is very stable. She is 58" and her bike allows her to pedal quite comfotably without hitting her knees on the seat. We ride together, but she likes having our 1-year old close, whereas normally she would prefer that I do any extra carrying or transporting, etc. when we do outdoor activities with the baby.

I have only 2 drawbacks with this seat:
1) There is no head support for baby, so when they fall asleep, their head is unsupported.

2) The "stinger", the metal piece that holds the seat to the bike, has to be removed with an allen wrench if you want to switch it to another bike. This is a VERY minor operation, but for long rides it would be nice to switch from one bike to another more easily. So far it looks like a 2nd stinger, also a good solution, would cost $27 shipped, which is steep to me, considering that $27 is about 33% of what the whole seat cost me (shipped). It would be great if a 2nd stinger were included with the seats.
teacher     On: 2008-10-08

My son loves it. I was afraid I wouldnt be able to keep our balance if we ran into bumpy road but it handled like a champ. It didnt fit on my husbands new mountain bike but it fit well on mine.
Good, but kind of a "beta" version.     On: 2008-10-04

I really like this seat. Ive used it almost daily since spring came around. Im a tall rider and have had no trouble with knee clearance. I ride in a fairly busy city most times, with all sorts of bad drivers, and quick maneuvers are no problem.

THAT SAID:

1.
The harness/strap system on this seat is cheaply designed and built and could be greatly improved on. Finding a good snug fit takes some work, and there have been times when my daughter (while falling asleep or twisting to see something fly by) has worked her shoulder out from under one of the straps. Not good on Westminster St.

2.
Speaking of sleep, what would it cost to fix-- or, even better, make a removable/washable-- pad to the crossbar? If your kid falls asleep, theres really no place for them to rest their weary noggin.

3.
The stinger system for mounting the seat isnt as solid feeling as Id like. If I have to jump on the bike sans kid for a trip to the corner store (seat makes a nifty grocery holder), the empty seat rattles over every bump like its not really latched on. It is, of course, but theres a too much play, I think.

Overall, its a great seat. It does the job well. But I cant help but wonder how great it would be if they just took a little more time with it. A better harness, a place for kids to rest their heads and a more reassuring fastening system would go a long way.
Life changing ....great item     On: 2008-10-03

This is a very easy seat to put on. I had to raise the handle bars slightly, but the piece is easy to attach and easy to remove for when I am riding solo. I love that I am so close I can leave over and kiss my son. Easy to balance, as they said before. We are riding daily. This has been a great purchase.

** I can see how it could be hard for long legged men. I occasionaly tap the seat with my knees. Probably have to raise it a little higher.
Pleased first time mother and novice biker     On: 2008-09-30

My 12 month old loved the ride and seat the very time we went for a ride! He cried when I took him off. Very easy to assemble and to take off and on. I had not ridden a bike in years and was weary of the added weight but not a problem at all. Great product!
Near-Perfect option for parents of small children     On: 2008-09-30

Some history. I own a Burley Solo Trailer, I have used the rear mounted child carriers, and I was a professional bicycle mechanic for 6 years. This is a great product with just a few drawbacks.

First the Pros:
- This is heads an shoulders more stable than a rear mounted child carrier
- Child interaction and supervision
- Fun
- Safer than a rear-mounted carrier
- Ease of mounting could not get much better

Cons:
- This is not for short riders. People under 58" will have trouble reaching the handlebars
- The safety harness is horrible but there are some relatively cheap and simple fixes to this problem.
- Safety of child *may* be slightly lower than a trailer style carrier (see notes below)

Installation Tips:
- I would recommend using this on a bike that has "riser" handlebars. The rise in the bar gives extra clearance for the childrens legs/feet when getting them in/out of the carrier.
- Grease the threads of the stinger bolts. Grease is always a good thing, and since you are threading into steel you dont want the bolts to corrode.

Strap Modifications:
I would recommend using a baby-seat sternum clip commonly found on Graco SnugRide seats to help keep the straps positioned on your child. Without these, the straps just fall off the childs shoulder and flop down, basically doing nothing once they have fallen off. The strap material on this seat is CHEAP and could use some improvements. This is my biggest gripe.

Getting you kiddo in and out....
-As others have mentioned, putting the safety strap on is only possible without the helmet.
-I would also recommend that you carry shoes seperately and let them go barefoot. The shoes are what get caught under the handlebars and it can be more than uncomfortable if their legs get stuck.

The Burley is generally a safer device simply by design. It generally wont tip over if you do, it has side and top roll-bars to prevent contact with the child and the cement, it has a lower center of gravity which affects the steering none-at-all, and it trails behind with a huge flag letting motorists know that you have a child and to keep their distance. The iBert has none of these things.... but I still use the iBert 10 out of 10 times. Why? I am an accomplished cyclist and still have great control even with the small added weight on the bikes stem so I feel I am **more** manuverable than if I had a trailer. I can fit through smaller spaces, am more agile, can turn, stop and accelerate faster with the iBert than with the trailer. This perhaps negates some of the safety benefits of the Burley. I run 2 rear flashers (even in the day) to help motorists see me which I think helps address rearward visibiltiy issues. Burly trailers have a tendancy to throw up dirt and grit into you childs face because of their placement behind the rear wheel. In addition, if the child is shorter, when wearing a helmet, the seatback forces their helmet and head downwards making it not only uncomfortable but also painful (imagine a bumpy ride with your head being forced downwards while being pelted with road dirt and sand).

I recommend this product without reservation even given its limitations and rider contstraints. The one thing I am NOT looking forward to is putting my child back into the burley when she exceeds the weight limit of the iBert. I seriously doubt she will want to sit in the back once she has a taste of sitting "shotgun".

Love It! For a 2.5 year Old     On: 2008-09-30

This is a fantastic product. Easy to attach and remove. We bought this after buying a trailer and a back fitting bike seat.

Pros
1) Better than trailer/rear seat because its actually fun! I did a 3 hour bike ride with my daughter over Bay Bridget all the way to Tiberon (long for me). When we finished she wanted more! Oh, by the way, I stuff a peanut butter sandwich in her hoodie and some wipes. She can eat her lunch without me stopping!

2) You can actually talk with your child as you ride. Great for multitasking... bonding + exercise. Also, Im afraid my kids will beat each other up if they are in the trailer since they are so close in age.

3) Ease of use. Easy on and off. Seat can come off the "bracket" that is attached. Easy to get her in and out too. No knee banging. Also works for bikes like our mountain bikes that couldnt fit the rear seat.

4) Flexible. works for my 10 month old and my 2.5 year old. She is only 25-30 pounds and about 3 feet tall. Height wise she fits. I need to get another one so we can all go together.

5) Cool :-) EVERYONE stops us and asks where we got it. I really feel sorry for the kids in the trailers... or worse in the rear seat pressed up against Daddys butt with a view of daddys sweaty back.

Cons (not really)
1) If my daughter moves her head too much sometimes she knocks me in the face. I need to snuggle by one side of her face. I guess if I was taller (Im only 52" my arms would be longer and Id have more clearance). My husband at 60" has no problems.

2) Seatbelt not great... sometimes it rides down her shoulder. Worry about her flying off but Id worry more if she was in the back. At least I can see her. There is a lap bar though... make sure it snaps in place.

Let's Go See the Horses!     On: 2008-09-29

I have to give high marks to this product, its almost perfect. I knew that I wanted a bike seat that sat in the front. After seeing and remembering from childhood all the seats in the rear, I knew that was a bum deal (haha puns well intended). The poor kid sits behind mom or dad and gets to stare at their rear the whole time or strain to see off to the left or right. Plus, for the parent, any conversation with the kid is pretty much non-existent.

The iBert steps in to change all that. Up front and right next to you, your child feels safe and protected. Conversation is easy for you and the view is unparalleled for your child. They can look anywhere from their fluorescent green throne. We have horses that are in a fence down the road, so I load up my son and peddle down to see them all the time.

I am 510" and have a standard size mens 21 speed. I had to do a slight adjustment to my handlebars to get the iBert bracket to fit my bike. I do have to slightly "butterfly" my legs to peddle but it is not at all inconvenient or uncomfortable.

My wifes bike is another story. She has a womens diamondback hybrid or something and it does not at all fit on her bike, at least, we cant mount it and then want to change gears, haha.

Pros: Kid feels safe, easy conversation, kid can see all around, easy setup, really fun
Cons: Expensive, doesnt fit all bikes, shoulder straps are a joke (but the saftey bar latches in pretty well)
Great child carrier!     On: 2008-09-29

I highly recommend this to anyone with a child in the weight and age/size range. As a parent you have full observation, control of your child and can communicate what you are sharing in sights. No need to take your eyes off the road to check on your child.
Awesome product!     On: 2008-09-24

This is by far the best child seat out there. It is safe and our 18 month old loves the view. He can wiggle a little and it does not affect the way the bike handles. I highly recommend the Ibert!
Great bike seat!     On: 2008-09-21

The iBert rocks! We ordered it and a helmet for our daughters first birthday. The install was super easy, it feels very safe and our daughter loves riding in it. Its not too rough a ride. She isnt leaning from one side to the other trying to see me or see around me like she would in a rear mounted seat. The bike is way more balanced, easier to turn, etc. than with a rear mounted seat. Shes 20 pounds and 30 inches tall and has lots of room to grow into the seat. The harness is well made and holds her in place securely, you just have to take the time and follow the directions to get it adjusted right for your kid. We point at squirrels, dogs, trees, kids, cars, etc. She cries when were all done with our ride. I would definitely recommend this bike seat over all others.
Very good     On: 2008-09-19

It was easy to install and seems like it is safe and secure. There is plenty of room for our large 15 month old. It does throw your balance off slightly, but not enough to make you feel like you will lose control. The only complaint and it is not a big one is that on the bike we installed it on it does get in the way of our knees a bit. I think with a bike that is a little longer it wouldnt be a problem. We will spitch it to another bike and see. We are both tall. I am 61 and my wife if 510. Even with this slight annoyance we are happy with the purchase.
Makes Riding Fun For You and Your Child!     On: 2008-09-19

The iBert Safe-T Bicycle Seat is an outstanding bicycle seat for small children. It was easy to install and feels sturdy, durable and safe. It also slides right off in about 10 seconds, with the mounting bar staying on the bicycle. The manufacturer even has great customer support: I had a question about mounting my seat and iBert emailed a response within two hours of submitting the question through their website.

With your child in front of you, you have much better balance and control, and your child will love being able to see where youre going and feel the wind on his face. The seat also doesnt crowd my legs when I ride. (My bike is a Raleigh Hybrid/Comfort bike.)

Look closely at the installation instructions (available at the iBert website) to be sure that the seat will fit on your handle bar stem, and if it does fit, then I full recommend this seat!

Fun Riding For Everyone     On: 2008-09-19

I love how my son (whos just crawling) sits in front of me and I can see his feet wiggle as we ride (his sign for highly enjoying himself). He gets to see everything and feel the wind on him and I feel like hes safe, cocooned between my legs and arms. It was recommended by friends who love it as well. Were having a great time riding around!
iBert front mounted child bicycle seat     On: 2008-09-17

This product worked well for a couple of long rides. After a month or so the mount between the stinger and the seat become a bit loose, a lot of left-right right-left movements during riding. I guess its due to metals wearing down. But the attachment seemed to be secured, as it doesnt slide back and forth.
Greatest ever     On: 2008-09-14

I found this seat when I was looking for away to ride my tricycle and have the baby with me. This seat is perfect for my tricycle and my son. He is 6 months old (on the large side)and he fits in the seat perfectly.
because of this seat I am still able to haul all things I need for a family outing in the basket on the back of the tricycle. We also found that this seat works much better with my vintage bike and my husbands beach cruiser. It so much more stable then the backmounted seat we had for our daughter and way easier to ride with then the rickshaw.

A Bicycle Built for Two     On: 2008-09-08

My 9 month old son LOVES this seat and so do I. I still feel like Im spending quality time with my son and Im getting exercise. The only thing that I dont like is that he usually falls asleep after about 5 miles and just ends up resting his head down on the bar across his lap...not ideal. I am still glad we got this seat instead of a tow behind or seat on the back.
Straps are deficient     On: 2008-09-06

The iBert Safe-T-Mounted Child Bicycle Seat is a great concept and our Grandson loves to ride on the bicycle. The only issue I have is with the straps. They will not stay up on his shoulders. Im going to replace the straps with ones off of a car seat.
A simple yet great product     On: 2008-09-06

I spent quite a bit of time looking for an easy to install, yet very comfortable front-mounted bicycle child seat. After reading reviews on the various products, I decided to give the iBert a spin. The package got to me in time and in great condition (Thanks, Amazon). The instructions were very simple and in fact, my wife mounted it on my bike one evening while I was away. Having said that, it would have been nice to have a couple of illustrations or photos on the install instruction sheet to show what the installed product should look like, taken from a low front-wheel angle. My daughter loves it, it is very comfortable and affords her a front-seat view of our travels. We spend at least an hour every day on it, exploring various trails, parks and play areas. The seat doesnt affect the balance of the bike and is generally very non-intrusive. My only comment is that one should check the couple of fasteners that bolt the seat to the stem of the handle-bar every so often to ensure they are still tight. I find that I have to tighten them by half to three quarters of a turn every couple of weeks. Other than that, simple great product that has provided hours of priceless (sorry, Mastercard) fun with my two year old. Way to go, iBert folks.
Fabulous!     On: 2008-09-03

So much fun!!! Its incredible how this seat changes your bike ride. With your child so close to you, it becomes more interactive for both parent and child. Easy to handle. Very cool.
Great for fun rides..     On: 2008-09-01

My one year old LOVES to ride in this seat. Its great to have her in front where I can see her and she can see ahead. Its fun for easy rides with my six year old around the neighborhood. The only issue I have with the seat is it is not great for hills or times when you should lean forward / or stand to get momentum on your bike... but oh well.
Genious     On: 2008-09-01

I have a good sized 2 year old who fits well in this seat. I love having him right between my arms able to see everything while we ride. It feels much safer than pulling him behind me. I am 61" and this seat does not restrict my knees in a significant way. I would suggest that you be on the bike while loading and unloading as the whole bike would easily topple over with the child in the seat even with a kick stand.
Better than a bike trailer     On: 2008-08-30

My kid definitely prefers this to bike trailer -- shes right up close with me so that we can have conversations together, she can feel like shes right up there "driving," and she can see everything! Probably the only thing she cant do anymore is eat or play with a toy, since shes not allowed to hold anything that might fall in the front wheel (but then again, she never asks to do either of these things anymore, since shes usually so taken with the passing scene).

Mounting the thing is fairly easy, although my husband and I both have folding bikes (a Dahon and a Brompton) and it took a little toying to figure where on the stem the thing would actually fit. We finally figured out that its actually easier to leave the seat mounted on the "tongue," then toy around with where the tongue actually works on the stem. We move the seat between our bikes -- usually takes <5 minutes to get it on or off.

Biggest difficulty is with starting and stopping -- Its just different with something between you and the front handlebars. Also, its basically impossible to stand up on your pedals to climb a big hill, so you either have to have great gears, great quads, or flat terrain.

This thing has been great! Ive been wanting to take our kid around with the bike for some time, but she always resisted getting in the trailer -- with this seat, shes almost always eager to get on the bike.
A great idea to get yourselves outdoors. BABY LOVES IT!     On: 2008-08-30

I got this for my babys first birthday. He fits in it great. I got him a helmet to go with and off we went bike riding together! Its great to put my bike back to use. It was quite easy to attach. My son totally digs it and I love that he is in front of me where I can see him (though, with the helmet you cant really see his face). But he was singing along as we biked, so I know he was loving getting outdoors and exploring the neighborhood and local parks. We rode to the beach last weekend. He was falling asleep on the way back, and with nowhere to rest his head I has to hold his head with one hand - a bit tricky (and quite funny for the cars passing by).

The only thing I think that could be improved on is the safety strap position. It seems to slide off his shoulders at times, making it not as safe as it should be. My husband is soon going to modify it because he is pretty hand like that. Hopefully we wont crash in the meantime.

I expect that this was a very wise purchase in that we will use it quite often. I highly recommend. Get off your tush and get out there and go bike riding!
Great Product     On: 2008-08-29

Excellent baby seat     On: 2008-08-29

Every one who saw this complement, my kid loves it, he is 20 months 29lb still fit.
The plastic seats quality is very good and rich looking. Installation was easy. I just cannot think of anything negative.

$85 for the idea!!!     On: 2008-08-29

Just got mine today. Will see how my 7 month old takes it.

I was surprised to find so little in the box for $85!! When I resell it I wont even ger $10 for it. I guess most of the cost is for being the first to the market.

The plastic is ok quality - no cousion seat. The back doesnt have higher support. Comparared to othe good quality seats this seat should not have been more than $30. What a rip-off.

Only reason I had to buy this product was so that I could take my older kid in the back with the single wheel attachment and the 7 month in front.
We love this thing!     On: 2008-08-28

Its so simple to hook up and comes off with ease if you want to ride solo. We are finally back on our bikes. Well have to get a rear riding seat once he hits the weight max, but for now we love our iBert.
Great product!     On: 2008-08-27

I love the iBert! My daughter loves it, too! It is a great way to be able to talk to your child and for them to see things while biking. I would HIGHLY recommend this product.
Fantastic     On: 2008-08-25

Just purchased this and couldnt be happier. Took all of 5 minutes to install with easy to follow directions. I am 5 11" and it does not touch my knees while pedaling. It is great also because it allows me to have a conversation with my kids while riding and makes for a great interactive experience (as opposed to them sitting behind and staring at your back). Cant recommend this enough.
Really good seat - but one fairly big flaw for me     On: 2008-08-19

I have two toddlers, and I got this seat because I wanted to have both kids on my bike with me, but I didnt want to use a trailer. That meant having one kid ride behind my seat (I got the CoPilot Limo Bicycle Child Seat for that) and one in front, which I bought this iBert seat for. First of all, the pros of the seat.

1) Super easy to install (on my bike at least). The Co-Pilot literally took me hours to install (although I suppose one could say that was an issue of the Blackburn CSR-1 bike rack that the seat snaps into and not the seat itself, but the fact is that rack was a huge pain to install, on both of our bikes, as well as on my neighbors two bikes). The iBert installed in about 15-20 minutes. That being said, although the iBert hardware was easy to install, the benefit of the Co-Pilot install means that you can pop that seat onto different bikes at your whim (if they have the rack installed), whereas the iBert will only go on the one bike you have with the iBert hardware. Nonetheless, the easy install was VERY much appreciated!

2) Both of my girls love riding up front. It really gives them a feeling that they are "riding" the bike. They can put their hands on the handle bars and they are seeing what you are seeing.

3) Its easy to talk to the kid in the seat. Also, since you are seeing the same things, you can talk about the features of the landscape/cityscape as they occur. It is much more difficult to hear a child that is behind you because the wind whips the sound away from you. With the child in front, a) your head is within a foot of their head [as opposed to 3 feet away] and b) the wind is whipping their words right at you.

Now for the big con of the seat, for me anyway. There is not enough room between the back of the iBert and the front of my seat for me to stand. Unfortunately, while my bike fits me, the seat doesnt go low enough for me to be able to put my feet comfortably on the ground while sitting on the seat. Under normal circumstances, I simply stand over the bar of the frame, but with iBert on, theres not enough room. This means that going up and down curbs, or waiting for traffic or pedestrians is pretty uncomfortable and I have to dismount the bike completely to go up or down a curb. If your bike seat can be lowered so that you can get your feet on the ground, this wont be as much of an issue (although you will no longer be in the ideal position for pedaling...)

I do like the seat a lot. As I said, the riding part and getting to have conversations with my daughter while riding is particularly delightful. When shes riding behind me, its hard to hear her or to know what shes talking about because I cant see what shes looking at.
front bike sit     On: 2008-08-18

I have been tried several bike sits for my son. This particular sit seem to the best fit.
Compare to other sit I feel the safest with the sit. My son is sting between my arms makes it a very safe enjoyable ride for him and me. In addition, the sit is very easy to attach and detach form the bike and I was looking for some thing like that. I would defiantly recommend this sit to any one.

Love this seat!     On: 2008-08-17

I order this to use with my adult trike and I cannot say enough about it! My 20 month old daughter loves it and cries when the bike ride is over. We have tried a rear mounted seat, as well as a trailer, and I rate this above both of those. I am able to talk to my daughter, point things out to her and just truly enjoy the experience together. I installed it myself in five minutes. I have no complaints, it is a great product and worth ever penny.
GREAT!     On: 2008-08-15

This seat has proven exactly as good as the reviews suggest. I am an experienced bike rider and wasnt sure how well it would work. But its absolutely great. My daughter, who is 2 3/4, loves it. She is part of the action and rider and passenger are able to talk about what we see. I feel completely safe riding with her (shes just over 30lbs). Easy to control the bike. Installation took just minutes with some post-adjustment to ensure unhindered pedalling.
FRONT RIDING BIKE SEAT     On: 2008-08-11

HAVENT USED THIS YET, BUT IT WAS REALLY EASY TO INSTALL AND OUR SON SEEMS TO LIKE IT AS WE HAVE PUT HIM IN IT TO SEE HOW IT FITS, ETC.
Great European Style Seat     On: 2008-08-10

We really like the i-Bert bike seat. My husband and I had been all over Europe and particularly in Amsterdam, the kids rode on the front in small "bucket-type" seats. Rather than spending $500 on a Chariot where the kid is stuck in the back, we opted for the i-Bert.

My son, 10 months, really likes it.

In Austin, we get mostly, "hey thats cool" comments around town. Its great for a commuter bike and 2-5 miles around town. I wouldnt go on a century ride with it. The only thing that keeps it from 5 stars is that on occasion, my husband, bangs his knees.

Great Bike Seat     On: 2008-08-10

This bike seat is great! We love the stability of this seat compared to others, when our little guy is in it. He has a birds eye view and loves being in it. Its sturdy and feels of good quality. We prefer this seat to a trailer as we feel safer and more visible to other road users.
The only cons are sometimes your knees hit the sides when pedalling and the straps need a little bit of fiddling to get them secure. Other than that, its great!
Love the Ibert!     On: 2008-08-07

This has been so great for us! My toddler loves the Ibert. Shes been on it since she was 1, and now she is a big tall, almost 2 1/2 year old , and it still fits her. I have absolutely no complaints and would recommend this to anyone looking for a bike seat. I love being able to talk to my daughter while we ride, and to see her. The Ibert is very light, which is crucial tome because I have to lift the entire bike over the 1 foot gate at the entrance of the bike path, so I dont want to add any more pounds!

The only cautionary advice I have is to make sure your toddler rides with something to occupy their hands, or they may try to grab the handlebars (and Ibert positions them so they are very tempted to do so!). I try to give her a washcloth or something to carry which would be harmless if she dropped, since it might fly into the path of the bike.
Knee-bashing disappointment     On: 2008-08-07

I was very excited for the first use of the iBert, based on the benefits outlined by its front-of-bike design. But, my excitement quickly turned to great disappointment as my knees bang the bottom of the iBert on every pedal. I now have to choose between inefficient bow-legged riding, or a return of the item. I am 61 with long legs and perhaps that poses a problem for the design of this product. So, if you are an experienced and efficient biker and are looking to maintain your good body position, you may want to reconsider.

Highly Recommended     On: 2008-08-06

Im a 62" guy living overseas and I was looking for a child seat that did not have to be permanently mounted, yet offered the same level of safety and protection as the standard rear-mounted seats. I was hesitant to purchase this child seat over the internet without actually seeing it first. Luckily, all of the reviews were spot on. The instructions are very easy to follow and you only need the included allen wrench to complete the installation. First, install the "stinger" onto the bikes handlebar stem (your bike must have at least 1/4" exposed stem in order to install the stinger). Then slide the seat onto the stinger and lock it in place with the inclosed pin. Its that easy. The seat can remain installed on the bike during storage, or you can remove it and leave the stinger in place. Personally, I remove everything since the stinger looks a little silly without the seat installed. The seat is very sturdy and my two year old son loves to go on bike rides. The only complaint that I have is in regards to the seatbelt/restraint system. Its a poorly designed two-point system that consists of a loop that goes over the shoulders and clips in to the front of the seat. Its difficult to get it adjusted correctly. A car seat style harness would be a welcome improvement. Dont be alarmed though, the current harness does not pose a safety risk. It works fine, but could be better.
Not enough clearence     On: 2008-08-05

I have the same issue that the other one star reviewers have.

While the seat seems promising, there just isnt enough clearance between the back of the seat and the bike seat if the bike seat is adjusted correctly. If youre seat is adjusted correctly you should not be able to put your feet flat on the ground while sitting on the seat. This makes it very difficult to ride with the child seat installed. You either need to lower the bike seat or lean considerably when stopped.

For those who like to have their bike seat very low, this seat seems like it would be a lot of fun. It is very sturdy and easy to install. However, it is almost impossible to have the bike adjusted for an adult rider and have the seat installed correctly.
FANTASTIC! but unsafe shoulder straps     On: 2008-08-02

We all love this bike seat, my husband, me , and especially our daughter. It is great in every way, easy to install, comfortable and fun for the baby, comfortable for the adult, and easy to take off. BUT, and I think this is a kind of important but, the shoulder straps are set to far apart, so that she is not really securely straped in. They slide of and just dont hit her shoulders in the right spot. Maybe its just my daughter, but I really dont think so....other than that we LOVE it.
Great baby seat!     On: 2008-08-01

I did quite a bit of research before purchasing my first child bicycle seat and I was impressed with the reviews on the iBert seat. I have a Trek WSD mountain bike and I was afraid that I would not find a seat that would mount comfortably on its smaller frame...but, the installation was a piece of cake and the seat fits fantastic. I ride everywhere with my 11 month old and the only downside is that he falls asleep in the seat so easily, so I constructed a pillow that straps to the cross bar. I am 56" and my knees touch the back of the seat when riding, so I have to ride with my legs slightly pushed outward. If you have extremely long legs this might be uncomfortable. Other than that, I highly recommend this seat, its great!
Just so cool!     On: 2008-07-31

My 14-month-old just loves this. It was easy to install. I am only 5 ft 2 inches tall and I have an extra small bike frame and my husband still figured out a way to put it on so that it would be safe for us to ride. This product really turns heads! Also I like that I can talk to my baby while riding.
Awesome seat!!!     On: 2008-07-30

I have just received this seat today and used it right away. It was so easy to install, it took literally no time at all. Loading my son into the seat was also a breezed! My son is about 23lbs, he just turned one and this is our first bike ride together. At first I thought he would be afraid of it or the ride at least but what a surprised, he loves it. I took him for a spin around the neighborhood and he didnt want me to stop! Everytime I stopped for a rest or stopped before crossing the street he would started to cry, wanting me to keep on going. It was so much fun. I love this seat. I am able to interact with son while ride. The look/smile on his face is a great feeling! This seat is AWESOME!

Before I bought the seat I read the reviews and noticed the 1 star reviewer and was very concerned if I should even buy it. But I am very glad I bought it disregarding the their reviews. Im not sure why they have so much problems. Im so happy it didnt give me any problems and fit my bike nicely and tight. I have plenty of legs clearance while peddling and plenty of room between the iBert seat and my saddle.

The only draw back I see in the future when my son gets old is hell want to control the bike or play with the gears while we are riding. But until then...Im taking my son out for another ride.
Great time for little ones!     On: 2008-07-29

Both my kids love this bike seat. We already had one, but they both kept fighting over it, so we had to get another. They have an unobstructed view and just love the feeling of flying. The only downside for me is that, since Im really short, I cant stand and pedal very well because I bump into the seat and my child. Otherwise, a great product.
The Best Choice for Me     On: 2008-07-28

After doing a little research on toddler bike seats, I decided on the iBert safe-t seat. Im really grateful for the detailed reviews of people who bought the seat! My male friends were concerned it wouldnt be comfortable/safe, however, it was perfect. My baby was secure in front of me and tried holding the handlebars with me. He actually fell asleep. My knees didnt bump the seat, my balance wasnt thrown off from him being in the front, and I was just as comfortable riding with him in front of me as I was riding sans baby. It was a great pick!
Love it!     On: 2008-07-28

Im a 59" single mom. Ive had this seat for a month or so and we use it almost everyday. It took me about 5 minutes to install-- suuuuper easy since you dont need any tools and the directions are straigt forward. I have a 16 month old. Hes tall and weighs about 30 pounds. Its easiest to put him in the seat, buckle him in and put the helmet on last. Tomorrow were going to try a week of leaving the car in the garage, riding a couple miles to and from the trolley, and getting around town that way. Not sure if I will keep him in the seat to lift the bike onto the trolly or take him out and try to carry baby and bike onboard. I love that the seat doesnt change how the bike rides-- you dont feel like you have a little person on the handle bars. For me, the seat slightly changes how I have to position my long legs when climbing hills (we live in San Diego). I cant stand up and dig in on the uphill as much as I would like, but shifting gears works well enough. In a nutshell, we love it and Im really happy with the purchase. This is the first item Ive ever bought from Amazon.
Bruno loves ibert!     On: 2008-07-28

iBert rules! My son Bruno loves riding with papa and his big brother since he gets to see everything in front of him! We get constant stares throughout our neighborhood. The seat is easy to attach to the neck of the handle bars which makes it easier for the rider to get on and off the bike. My son is big for his age so he has been enjoying the iBert since he was 8 months old. My son fits securely and comfortablywith the harness and cross bar. Along with his helmet he is pretty safe. Thanks to iBert we ride our bikes everyday!
I like it!     On: 2008-07-24

I like this product. It might look a bit strange but it means your child can see where you are going, you can communicate and interact with your child safely without having to look behind. It was easy to fit but be warned you need at least 3/4" on the stem to fit it. This may be a problem on threadless headsets. Also if you have trigger gear shifts they may be tight to the edge of the child seat. I like it, my son likes it and if it fits your bike its got to be better than a rear child seat.
Great purchase.     On: 2008-07-24

I spent a lot of time reviewing different child carriers, but I ended up ordering this one and Im very happy with my choice. My son is almost 2.5 years old and he loves it. He would ride in it any time and is very dissapointed when the ride ends. One of the downsides is that Im only 5 feet tall and when he has his helmet on, its kind of in my face expecially when he leans back. Other then this, its a great product and my husband loves it too! We use it all the time.
Almost Perfect!!!     On: 2008-07-24

I LOVE this product if only I had purchased it one year ago or even six months. The center of gravity of this seat is amazing!! I have a three and a half year old who weighs 33 pounds and is 40 inches tall. I bought this seat not sure if she was going to be too tall for it which unfortunately she is about an inch too tall we tried it out anyways we went on the trail around our house she absolutely loved it but her legs were crunched:( So we were kinda bummed but think that anyone with a smaller chld that loves to ride couldnt go wrong with this seat (unless your just riding uphill constantly) its fine for small hills and did great on the interurban trail. My child didnt want to stop riding we talked the whole ride which was nice she wasnt scared at all. I wish they made it just two inches longer in the legs.
Love it!     On: 2008-07-23

I got this for my 1 yr old son and we both love it! The seat was easy to install and easy to ride with. Great product.
Great Seat but doesn't fit on every bike     On: 2008-07-22

This is a great seat and a great concept!! Unfortunately, it doesnt fit my husbands bike very well (Raleigh Mountain Bike) as it wont allow him to shift gears when its on. No amount of adjusting has solved the problem. However, it fits my womens Raleigh Hybrid bike great! I love being able to talk to my daughter while were riding and her movements dont throw off my balance. My knees dont hit the seat and its very easy to steer the bike with her on it. She LOVES riding in it!!!! Overall, great seat! Just wish it fit my husbands bike, too! Definitely recommend it to see if it fits your bike!
easy to use     On: 2008-07-22

This item is easy to install and the seat is quickly removable. We prefer having our toddler in front and the seat does not get in my way or make my bike hard to drive. The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is the strap needs to be finessed to get it to stay over our toddlers shoulders. You will want them to wear a shirt that covers all of their shoulders and comes up to the bottom of the neck to avoid any chance of causing redness due to friction of the strap.
Overall a pretty good buy     On: 2008-07-17

This is a great option considering the other available choices on the market for getting your kid on a bike with you. Mounting the seat up front yields outstanding control while on the bike, both in motion and standing still - great engineering. People are amazed when they see this in action. One drawback is hitting your knees on the seat, though. I chose to buy a new stem for my bike (about $15) that allowed me to raise the child seat an additional inch and it works great. Also, a tall child wearing a helmet might make the ride awkward.
Good only for shorter rides - handling+steering very good - straps not good     On: 2008-07-16

We bought this bicycle seat as an addition to a rear-mounted seat so that our twins can both ride on my bike.

The good:

1. The bicycle handles really well. Even with 2 kids (one in a rear-mounted seat) , I can control and steer without a problem.
2. There no problems with the legs hitting the seat while pedaling.
3. The seat goes on and off fairly easy (I take it off every time after I ride)
4. The seat is comfortable for short rides (see below).

The bad

1. On longer rites, there is no way to sleep or relax as the seat provides no back rest.
2. The straps are not very good - adjusting takes longer than necessary and there is never a perfect fit.
3. Although there is no problem with the legs, my daughters head is mainy times on my chest (using a fairly large mountain bike). This provides some kind of "back rest" but may be annoying on longer rides.
4. The clearance between the seat and the bike seat is a little small- this is only a problem when you dont ride, e.g. stand at a stoplight, but is manageable.

Conclusion: We are very happy with our purchase as it allows us to easily take 2 kids on the bike (together with the CoPilot Taxi) - but there is still room for improvement. Also, some problems may depend on the type of bike and rider.
May cost you more then expected     On: 2008-07-14

Because her older sister is riding a bike, we thought this would be good for our 2 year old so the whole family could go on rides together. We were not able to install this on any of our bikes as there was not enough room on the stem below the handlebar. My husband took his bike to the shop and purchased a stem extension and since the shop also sold this seat, they installed the extension and the seat. So this doubled the price of the seat. It also raised his handlebar, but since he is tall its ok.

Our child fits in the seat easily, but the shoulder straps are too far apart so we tied them together in the back to keep them secured. She loves riding in this seat. She does get a little possesive of the handlebar so my husband has to remind her than he has to hold on and she is not allowed to touch the shifting mechanism.

In terms of riding, he has found that he can pedal almost normally without bumping the seat, but stopping is a challenge because he cant hop off the seat to the front, he learned to find large rock or curb to stop by and rest his foot on it to dismount. Placing your child in the seat will increase the weight on the front of your bike, so be aware of that when breaking or turning. It could be dangerous for less experienced riders or when riding in crowded places.
Make sure it fits you     On: 2008-07-14

If youre thinking about buying this kids seat, you should make sure that it fits you. In particular, it needs to (A) fit your bike and (B) fit your body size. For (A), it wont work with drop handles, but can also be problematic for other bikes. The best bikes for this seat are those with handles that bow upwards a bit. Especially in light of the answer to (B), if youre riding a bike with low(ish) handlebars, this seat may not work for you. Turning to (B), if youre on the smaller side, this seat probably wont work (unless you have a bike thats good on dimension (A).) Im 6 3", so I could use the seat on our mountain bike because I can reach around the kid to get to the handles. But my wife, whos 5 9", cant. Its too uncomfortable for her to reach around the kid to get to the bike handles. Since our other bike, that only fits me, has a rear seat, were forced to return this seat to Amazon. So beware about sizing (unless you like to pay return fees) and try it out ahead of time if you can.
Love, love, love it!!     On: 2008-07-14

I have a friend who is from Germany and she mentioned that the baby seats are usually in the front - I thought it was a great idea. I researched them and chose this seat based on my research. It was super-easy to install and my 1 year old son LOVES it!! He feels like hes part of the action. The stability is great and he seems very comfortable even for long rides. Im able to wear a backpack with essentials, something that would be hard to do with a rear seat. One item of note is that it did not fit the bike I had intended to put it on - but we live near the beach in Florida so we have no shortage of bikes in our garage. I just used one of the other bikes that had a longer neck from the frame to the handlebars. I would highly reccommend this product!
iBert...great, but not perfect     On: 2008-07-10

The iBert child seat is a pretty great bike seat, but it has 2 major flaws: 1) the straps DO NOT WORK, they slip right off the shoulders and are thus not secure, and 2) the mounting system does not work if your handle bars have less than 2 inches of adjustment up or down (for example, on many mountain bikes). That being said, we will still use it as it is a great way for our child to ride bikes with us and we like him being able to be up front with us so the ride can be as interactive as possible.
Great Fun!     On: 2008-07-10

It was a breeze to install on my Specialized bike. My 2 year old daughter just loves riding in front with Daddy! I just have to make sure I lower my seat a bit when i ride so that I can reach the ground from the sitting position as it gets a tiny bit tight (but not impossible) stradling the bar at a stop.

My neighbor tried and immediatley bought one for his 1 year old boy!
Good product     On: 2008-07-08

After reading various reviews of this product and other styles of bike seats, I chose the Ibert. It was really easy to install on my bike. Im short (51) and I have a crusier bike. I have no problems steering the bike with this seat in front of me. I notice when I am riding, my knees are in a slightly outward position to accomodate the seat, but I got used to it pretty fast. My knees come close, but dont hit the seat, which is nice. My daughter loves this seat. She can see everything and especially gets a kick when I go downhill fast. I can easily talk to her and hear her. The only thing I wish this seat had was a little more padding on it. Right now there is none, so my daughter is sitting on the plastic. Shes too young to cpmplain about comfort but shes not crying when we go for a ride, so I guess shes ok with it.
My 11 month old daughter loves this seat!     On: 2008-07-07

Great bike seat. I specifically picked it because it sits in front of me rather than behind. Its easy to install and take on and off if needed. The buckle and seat bar are easy to use and my daughter loves to go for rides. It is a tight squeeze for me though when Im getting on and off the bike--Im 57" and 120 lbs so if youre outside those numbers be prepared for some jockeying to get situated on your seat.

My daughter is 11 months old and weighs nearly 20 lbs. Shes tall for her age, but has plenty of leg room. The seat accomodates up to 35 pounds, so Im hoping well get lots of mileage out of it. I think though that if your child is already close to the weight limit it might be a little bit of a tight squeeze, as the seat is not huge. For now though, she has plenty of room.

Riding is pretty comfortable and fairly easy to manage--takes some getting used to but its easy once you get the hang of it. My knees bump the seat a little unless I aim them out a bit, but it hasnt been a problem yet. Weve only gone for rides of 20 minutes or less so far, so Im not sure if longer distances would become uncomfortable or not.

There are 3 adjustments you can use to move the seat closer to or farther away from the handlebars. My Trek mountain bike only allows the iBert to either be on the notch closest to my seat, or the middle notch, but each little notch is only about 1/2" apart from the next, so were not talking about a lot of play here. I only gave the seat 4 stars because I can only use 2 of the 3 notches, but maybe if you had a larger bike you would be able to use all 3 and have more clearance between the back of the iBert seat and the front tip of the riders seat.

Ive been happy with the purchase so far, its great for us to get out and take family rides. The plastic feels sturdy enough and I feel like its worth the money we paid for it, especially since it qualified for free super saver shipping. Best of all, my daughter is comfortable and has fun while were out, so I achieved my goal with the purchase.
Great seat     On: 2008-07-05

I was pleased at how normal my biking feels with baby in the front/center of the bike. Weve been on one adventure together and she and I were quite pleased. One thing that helped my comfort, was to slide my seat back on its rails which allowed me more room. I am going to add a velcro "sleep option pillow" to the seat--by using one of those husk filled neck pillows, adding velcro to the pillow and top of seat so she can lean back and fall asleep if she wants. Hopefully, if low enough, it will work and not interfere with her helmet...well see. Overall, what a great product--were biking together, each pointing out things to the other--a great bonding experience that feels safe and secure.
Great infant/toddler bike seat!     On: 2008-07-04

Our 16 month old loves to ride in the iBert! It was simple to install. It is great to be able to see his reactions to all of the sights around him!!
Works on foldable adult trike     On: 2008-07-03

How exciting to finally find a child bike seat that can fit onto my foldable adult trike. This seat is remarkably stable even on a bike like mine, which has no bar going from handles to seat. It only has the "female" style lower, angled bar for easier boarding. This child seat fits right onto the bar and supports itself without needing the bike to lean on at all. Also it somehow fits on just fine even with the big U shape handle bar. I worried the seat wouldnt possibly fit on a bike that was so different from the typical mountain bike style. What a thrill to make it fit (just barely). I wasnt able to get it on myself but my husband got it to fit by pushing a bit harder than I tried. This seat and adult trike combination lets me take my child bike riding with complete stability. We both feel totally safe. The chair and child really didnt seem to add any feeling of additional weight. My daughter took to it very well even from the first ride. She loves sitting in front. She loves holding the handle bars. She loves leaning back into me. Although I have to be aware of the seat, it doesnt interfere with my legs peddling to an inconvenient degree. It takes caution getting on the bike but once we are going, I feel totally comfortable with the seat and child. With the adult trike it is so stable that I can ride along with one hand on the handle bar and the other hand giving the child her juice cup. I never had this experience with my first child because I could never find a child bike seat that felt safe enough. The risk of accident always seemed too high to justify the fun of bike riding. I am so happy that after all these years, I finally found a combination of bike and child seat that lets me get out there on the trail with my kids. My first child is now 4 and learning to ride her own bike with training wheels. It is great for me to have such a stable bike and safe child seat to ride along with her and help her as needed. We get a lot of attention from people passing us on the bike trail as they admire our set up.

I love this bike seat, it is very easy to install and remove. My 2 and 1/2 year old loves to go for bike rides in it. This bike seat works best with handlebars with a slight curve or handlebars that can be repositioned. Also, the longer the bicycle the easier it is to use this bike seat. The seat fits on my husbands mountain bike, but the straight handle bars make getting my child in and out a slight challenge. It fits our beach cruisers and it works very well on my commuter bike. The only problem I have had with the bike seat is the safety straps, which fall off of my childs shoulder. I have to monitor her very carefully. Prior to using this bike seat I used a rear bike seat which was very nerve racking because my child would wiggle out of those safety straps, and I could not monitor her behavior. I have found that other cyclists, especially those without children, do not like the safety seat. They appear to believe that the seat is unsafe.
Great seat!     On: 2008-07-03

I love this seat! The "Stinger" does need at least 3/4" on the handlebar stem, so it may not attach to every bike, but it attaches very easily to that 3/4" space. While pedaling, I do notice some very infrequent knee-hitting, but it isnt so bad that I have any difficulty riding the bike - it is more like knee-brushing. The front-fitting child seat is weird at first, but my kid seems very comfortable in it and I really like that I can see him and communicate with him while we are riding. Mounting and dismounting the bike with the iBert in place takes some getting used to, but it isnt bad.
Great product, fast install, and great design!     On: 2008-07-03

I spent about three days reviewing all the different types of bike carriers after purchasing a $30.00 rear Bell carrier from Walmart that did not fit on our bike and was designed poorly. I was a little hesitant with the price but we are so glad we purchased the IBert. It took literaly two minutes to install on my bike (hybrid Scwhinn sp?) compared to the 40 minutes it took to figure out the rear carrier did not even fit ours.
Our daughter absolutley LOVES it! Shes 23 months, 21 lbs, about 32 inches and fits well with room to grow. We love being able to point things out and talk to her on our rides. We hear "wwwwweeeee" "more fast" and "me bike" constantly. Like others, a tantrum was had when we stopped!
Only rated 4 stars for the strap, could be designed a little better but overall everything is 5 stars!

Great bike seat!     On: 2008-07-03

My 23 month-old daughter loves riding with me on my bike in this! My only complaint is that the straps are very difficult to tighten/remove but otherwise, its a great bike seat!

We even went out and got a 2nd stinger (the metal attachment that goes directly on the bike) so that my husband and I can swap the seat out (very quickly, I might add) and take turns on who gets to ride with her.
We love it!     On: 2008-07-01

Its an awesome bike seat. Very easy to install and to remove. Our baby loves riding in it!
Score instant good parent points with strangers     On: 2008-07-01

Ever see the look on a strangers face that says, "Awww. That guy is such a good parent." If you dont, you can find out what it looks like by getting this product. Your child will be too cute riding along with you for anyone to deny that you are the most awesome parent evAr! The only downside to this product is that it can rub against your legs as you pedal, and it only is good up to a child of 38 lbs.
Love this seat     On: 2008-07-01

This has been one of the best kid products we have purchased. I bought it to use with my second child. Our first bike seat was one that installed behind the seat, but with it installed I could not use my sons tag-a-long bike. I much prefer the iBert to using the one that fits on the back. Balance is one reason for this. When my son sat in the seat behind me, his movements would easily throw off my balance. With my daughter in front of me, any wiggle or movement she has had has not caused me to feel unbalanced at all. I can also see my daughter while we bike this way and can see if she is sleepy or if her helmet isnt right and stop and fix any problem without having to try to look behind me while riding.

One comment I have noticed a few times is the lack of space between the seat and the bike seat. There is minimal space between the seats, you just have to start with your leg over you bike seat and not straddle the bike. A few practice runs and starting and stopping is pretty easy. I also noticed a few people commenting on hitting the seat with their knees. If you raise your seat a bit, this problem goes away as well. As far as mounting the seat, I did have to bring my bike in to have an extender put on, but it had to do with the type of handlebar that my bike has (mine is not round)- needed a tune up anyway so they did it for free.

One point I particularly like about the seat is that I can have my daughter on the front and my son on the tag-a-long behind me and we can go on a bike ride together. It is easier going than having them both in the trailer, and he gets some exercise too!
Terrific Trend Setter     On: 2008-06-29

I am really impressed with the iBert Safe-T Front Mounted seat! Super-easy to install, take off and reattach. My son LOVES it - he calls it "mine bike". I enjoy the interaction we have as we tool around town. We get tons of comments - so I wouldnt be surprised to see a huge influx of these things in my area. I will be disappointed when he outgrows it, but it wasnt so expensive that I will feel it was a waste of money.
Seat Didn't Fit Mountain Bike     On: 2008-06-29

I have a Raleigh Womens Mountain bike and the iBert would not fit my bike safely. When installed, my infants legs were underneath the gear shifts, so I couldnt shift gears. In addition, I could not ride without really bumping my knees (it was not a minor inconvenience). There was also no way to safely mount the bike because there wasnt enough clearance between the iBert and my seat. Too bad, I was really excited about this product. I think how well it works is 100% dependent on the adults bike frame. iBert should give some instruction as to frame sizes that are iBert compatible
after much "investigating"- this seat is the greatest! 5+     On: 2008-06-28

Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R1A0HYWRA2NWJN i studied long and hard pics and vids of others to determine if this would really work on my bike. I have 3 bikes - (all men styled- high cross bar) so i finally just went for it, and figured i just had to get it to know for sure! just to give you an idea i am about 55",and have 19inch to 21.5 inch mtn bikes. i was really skeptical...I compared this Ibert with the kangaroo seats; I KNEW i wanted a front carrier. On the kangaroo wee bike seat the kid straddles the bar, and i was worried it wouldnt leave me much room to straddle the bar myself when i come to a stop... or pedal for that matter.
I am thrilled with the seat; this video is the first day we tried it; since then we (baby and me) are pros on it and she is really into it!!! I put the Ibert on my HYBRID bike thinking that if i were more upright it would be easier to point things out to her and also not knock her helmut on my chest if i had to stand on my pedals to go up a hill. The length of my cross bar is almost 21.5 inches, so even with a lot of room there; when i straddle the bar i come right up against the back of the green ibert seat. However, my knees DO NOT knock the seat whatsoever; which was my main concern! You need about 3 inches tops to fit the "stinger" on your handle bar post- my husband did it 10 mins! The straps for the baby are okay for me; i actually used my old velcro padded strap protectors from her old bucket car seat to pad the plain straps provided; works great! My childs is small for her age, almost 17 lbs at 12 mths, but we managed to find a bike helmut size 1 and put a baseball hat under it, and she loves it!
This is a spectacular seat, my friends who have older kids wish this was around for them! With all my worrying and wondering, i am so glad i just went for it and bought this seat, if is def the best one on the market! It is one of my favorite things to do with her each evening cruising the neighbohood and just getting out at an adult pace!! i feel its perfectly safe as long as YOU the rider is in good control, if i had to say what the trickiest part to learn washow to come to a stop. In fact i have dropped my seat a bit so that my feet are almost flat on the ground; not the old way i used to ride where i had a full leg extension..but a small price to pay for her safety! ENJOY IT its the best!
Great product!     On: 2008-06-27

Got this for my husband for Fathers Day! He loved it and our daughter is having a blast on it. Its very secure and she looks super comfortable. Only thing is with my husbands gear shifter makes her slipping into the seat a little difficult, but we manage. Weve taken her around almost every evening and she just loves the wind blowing in her hair..and looking up at her dad. Im glad I spent the extra money on this.
Great Bike Seat!     On: 2008-06-27

I bought this bike seat based on the reviews of this site and Im very happy with it. My daughter is 21 months old and is only 23 pounds so we should be able to use this seat for quite a while. She really enjoys riding with me. The seat was very easy to attach to my bike. I really like having my daughter in front of me instead of behind me and she likes to hold on to my handle bars. I feel comfortable and safe with her in front. The only issue that I noticed is that the seat barely wobbles from side to side while attached, not so much when my daughter is sitting there, just when I wiggled it myself. I thought it would be a tighter fit like my carseat or something but its definitely not going to fall off the t-bar. Overall Im very happy with this bike seat and highly recommend to others.
Best Purchase Ever in A Long Time     On: 2008-06-27

I truly enjoy this product,I just bought it a few weeks ago and even though I heard that it only goes up to 32 pounds and my daughter is 28lbs when I bought it. The carrier is still worth every penny even if I can not use it for much longer.
great product     On: 2008-06-24

this bike seat is great my daughter just turned 3 and is 34lbs and she fits in it fine, it is easy to assemble to the bike (it did take two of us), and it is very sturdy. what i dont like about it is the straps they keep falling off her shoulders maybe with some adjusting this can be corrected. but overall great product i would reccomend it.
Easy and stable     On: 2008-06-23

This seat was a breeze to put on my bike (a large kids bike from Target). All I had to do was raise up the handle bar so I could put the seat bracket on. (Im 5 feet tall and I have no trouble peddling.) You can buy an extra bracket so you can easily switch the seat from one bike to another. Just dont forget the bike helmet! My son enjoys it so much that he whines when I stop riding.
Fantastic except not for every bike     On: 2008-06-21

This has been really great for our family, and encourages us to take bike rides more often. It fits perfectly on one of our bikes (an Electra Townie), and installed in minutes.

Its going to be a bit of work, though, to get it on my bike (Specialized Hard Rock) -- I need to raise the handlebars a bit to do it. Thats the only reason I gave this 4 stars. It really is a fantastic product, and our son loves being able to see the ride better.
Fantastic seat, even for a short rider     On: 2008-06-20

As other have said, this seat is easy to install, comfortable, and easy to steer with, but the best part is that it fits me at only 54" tall. Most of the front seats are too wide for my small frame Giant Cypress ST, but this one fits well and I dont have to splay out my knees to ride with it.

I took this seat into my local bike shop and they were really impressed as well. They had heard of it, but never seen one. They were certainly converts!
Great Purchase!     On: 2008-06-19

The iBert child bicycle seat is a great product. Its easy to install and remove. My husband has it on his bike and at 62", he has no problems steering or pedaling. Probably the best part is that my daughter absolutely loves to use it! She is so comfortable in her bike seat and she really enjoys being able to see everything that we see.

There is only one small design flaw to this product - the seat straps. They constantly fall off my daughters shoulders. Last night I decided to take a rubber band to bind the straps together at chest level and the problem was solved.

If you love to bike ride, I highly recommend this seat!
Awesome for both parents and toddlers     On: 2008-06-19

I bought the iBert Safety Seat from Amazon (much cheaper than at the actual iBert site) as a Fathers Day gift for my husband. He installed it in literally 5 minutes but he had to raise the bikes handle bar to fit the seat properly. My 15 month old ABSOLUTELY loves sitting in the front of the bike! The strap is a little hard to adjust but we learned to put it on first before putting on her helmet. I would definately recommend this to anyone!
Love love love it!!!     On: 2008-06-18

This is exactly as advertised. Very simple, easy to mount, and our 13 month old LOVES it! And so does Dad!! Dad is 6 feet tall, and does have to hold his knees out a little, but not enough to be uncomfortable. He took her for a 7 mile ride the other day and she sang the whole time. Plenty of room for her to grow, we should still be able to use it next year, and she is tall for her age. Definitely worth the extra money.
Great bike seat     On: 2008-06-18

My 1-year-old son loves this. He totally pitched a back-arching fit when I took him out the first time. Now he puts on his own helmet (I still fasten the strap)--and this from a kid who hates hats. It does interfere a tad with the gear shifts on my bike and, being 62", it also forces me to slightly widen my knees when pedaling. The primary fallout of that is I take hills in a lower gear. Overall, great product that is easy to install, solid, and that my son adores.
Fantastic!     On: 2008-06-18

My 13 month old daughter LOVES this and so do I! It is easy to use, easy to install. She signs for bike and helmet twice a day at least. Some may think it throws you off balance, but not at all. My daughter even gets excited and bounces around and it is fine. I did have to move my gears around a bit, but it was no biggie.
Fantastic!     On: 2008-06-17

My daughter loves this seat! Hard to get her out of it! Easy to install.
Love this seat!     On: 2008-06-15

This seat is great, we just installed it last week. It was easy to attach, and even fits my small framed mountain bike well. My 11 month old likes to ride in it, he doesnt complain at all. Im short (5-4") and I have no clearance issues now, but I think when the little guy grows another 3 or 4 inches his helmet may bump my chin, I may have to get a more upright bike then. Also, because of my small bike frame, I dont have room to jump off my seat forward, so the seat has to be low enough for my feet to touch the ground while sitting on it - not ideal for long, or uphill rides. I think this seat would be perfect for taller people with a larger bike frame, but still works fine for me for now.
LOOOOOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!     On: 2008-06-11

My 2 year old daughter loves this seat! We can talk to each other about what we see along our bike rides and it is a wonderful opportunity for us to spend quality time together. I would recommend this to anyone! I do notice a slight difference in how I have to pedal with this seat, but it is a very minor adjustment. I also read in one of the other reviews that if you raise your seat, it will eliminate this problem, but I have not tried that yet. It took me about 5 minutes to install this on my bike by myself and I feel so much more stable with the front mount seat than the rear mount. I think anyone biking with children should have it!
it's grrrrrrrreaaat!     On: 2008-06-11

I love this bike seat! Its positioned just right for it to not throw the bike off balance. My son and I go biking almost everyday and he loves it. I thought the plastic would be uncomfortable when I saw it too, but it doesnt bother him in the slightest bit. My son is 16 months old and gets excited when he hears me grab the bike, he even tries to help me load him in! In which case I wish the bar would snap upright for loading because he grabs it to try and snap it closed himself and usually hits my hand when Im trying to buckle him in. Its so relaxing for him, he even falls asleep on his rides. I feel very comfortable riding with him, Im 52" and I dont have any problem with my knees hitting it. I always get looks of surprise and smiles when they see my son riding in his seat, kids passing by love it too. I would DEFINITELY recommend this everyone.
Great seat     On: 2008-06-09

My baby is 10 months and already loves this seat. I think its great. I can talk to him in his ear while we are riding. I prefer seats in the front because they have a great view. We havent had any problems with it yet.
Didn't fit.....bummer     On: 2008-06-09

I thougth this seat would be great for my two and a half year old, but once I had it on my bike I couldnt get on or off of my bike. The distance between the back of the ibert and my seat is too narrow. It did install VERY quickly as well as uninstall. If you are a larger person (I am 53") you may have more distance between your handlebars and seat and it could work for you. I didnt pay to have it shipped to me, but I did have to pay return shipping. Good luck!
BEST KID BIKE SEAT **EVER**!!!     On: 2008-06-09

one of the BEST inventions and quality products ever. my daughter has been riding with me since she was 1 years old. we love it! i am an avid bike rider and its so much more fun, educational and interactive with her sitting in front of me.

if you buy the extra "t bar" accessory, you can cut costs down and put the converter/tbar on two different bikes to switch off bikes to put the seat on different bikes.

my daughter is now 2 years old, about 33 inches and approx 24 lbs and i cannot tell you how much we both enjoy this seat.

the only thing i would comment on is i wish they would re-evaluate their chest strap. its built a little too complicated and awkward and sometimes slides off my daughters shoulders no matter how tight or high i adjust it.

other than that, i would HIGHLY recommend this. i get compliments and comments everywhere i go in this thing! have had it over a year!
Love this seat & very easy to install!     On: 2008-06-06

My mom and I where able to install this seat in about 5 minutes. A durable and well designed seat. I highly recommend this front mount seat.
Would recommend     On: 2008-06-05

I really like this seat. I enjoy having my son in front of me while were riding and he is convinced that he is helping me steer. The seat doesnt hit my knees when pedaling like other front mounted seats do. The only draw back comes during big hill climbs when I stand on the pedals and lean over the handle bars. This causes my chest to push against the back of my sons helmet and forces him to look down. Hes not too fond of that.
IBert infant/toddler bike seat     On: 2008-06-04

LOVE IT. I did a good bit of research on bike carriers before selecting this one for my baby (1 year old). From what I read it appeared as though the front mounted Ibert would be less a drag on ones center of gravity and easier to use. I have to fully agree. There really isnt much of a difference at all when you have a child in the seat verses not having one. I LOVE it and my baby loves it too! It was so cute. I couldnt see his face when we were riding so I didnt know whether he was enjoying himself or not. When we got off however, I took him in my arms and pointed to the bike saying "BIKE...BIKE..." He started HOWLING and cracking up laughing! It was the funniest thing! When my husband came home from work I took him out in the garage with the baby and pointed to the bike saying "Bike" and the baby again started cracking up! ....he loves it and so do I. I would highly recommend this seat. Ive used the ones that you attach to the back of the bike and this one is much easier. You dont feel as though the rear of the bike is going to tip over when you get off. Just a lot more control. FYI, I am 5 4" for anyone wanting to know about how it affects peddling....no interference at all. I dont think it would bother my husband whos 6 either though. Great option for a bike carrier. VERY, VERY easy to install. 5 minutes.

Only negative??? The straps used to harness the children into the bike seem to be attached to the seat a little too far apart in the back. Instead of the strap riding on the top of my sons shoulders they tend to slide down the side. Perhaps theyll be a better fit fit when hes a bit bigger. In the meantime Im not too concerned. I can see him. I know where he is and if necessary, it can easily be rigged to sit over his shoulders.
Easy to mount & it gives me plenty of clearance     On: 2008-06-04

I had read that front-mounted seats were safer so I spent hours on-line trying to find one that would provide enough clearance for my legs (Im 510")and would also support the weight of my three-year-old son. The iBert Safe-T seat had great reviews so I decided to give it a try, and Im so glad I did. It took me less than five minutes to install it - to my husbands dismay - and my knees dont touch it at all when Im riding, nor do I have to modify my peddling or bow my legs in any way to clear it. My son loves it, and as an added bonus, everyone we pass says how cool the seat is and asks where they can get one.
Don't like this at all     On: 2008-06-04

This was a product that sounded like a great idea and turned out not to be.

I thought I liked the idea of having my son in front of me on my bike until I got this seat and started thinking logistics.

There is very little space between the seat and me, and I have to sort of reach around the seat to steer and brake -- to say this feels unsafe would be an understatement (I have returned the seat without ever using it, as I did not think it was safe). And while I like the idea of having my son where I can see him, I realized that in reality I would be putting him up where stuff (gravel, bugs) could fly in his face. Ive since noticed that many other front-mounted seats Ive seen pictured online have "windshields" for the children inside them. Also, most other seats Ive looked at having padding inside for the child; this one is just hard plastic and seems like it would be rather uncomfortable for the child on any but very short rides.

Finally, of the three bikes I own, I could only mount this seat on one. On one, the stem of the steering column was too short (I could have bought a longer one and had it installed, at a cost of about $150). On the second, the handles curve in a way that makes it impossible to mount the seat -- they interfere with the leg portion of the seat. Only one of my three bikes would actually accommodate this seat (all three are pretty standard, ordinary bikes).
my one year old loves it     On: 2008-05-31

I like everything except the seat belt is dumb, and on my bike there is not enough space for me to stand between my seat and the ibert which makes getting on and off a little difficult. My daughter is one year old and loves it.
This seat is great!     On: 2008-05-29

This seat was pretty easy to put together and my child loves being in the front of the bike. The seat provides a nice place for a childs legs, meaning there is really no way they will get tangled up in the bike at all. The only thing I dont really like is you have to watch your knees sometimes on the bottom of the seat.
Fun seat!!     On: 2008-05-28

This seat is easy to put on (take off) and is great for recreation. I am training for a triathlon and I dont feel comfortable taking my daughter on the bike at faster speeds I also have to turn out my knees slightly when riding the bike. This isnt a good seat for serious riding. I will stick to fun rides around the neighborhood.
She Loves It     On: 2008-05-27

I Like it because its safe and easy to get my daughter into it. She loves being in it and that it what makes this seat great. If anything it is hard to get her out of it after a ride.
i-bert seat     On: 2008-05-27

My son and I love this seat. Hes so happy riding and seeing the road ahead of him!
i-bert     On: 2008-05-27

I was very excited to receive this product and go riding with my son and husband. At first I was a bit leary about the i-bert because it sat so close to my knees and body and I was concerned that I would not have enough space to pedal, or strength to steer it but, I was greatfully wrong. I loved the i-bert, and my son seemed to enjoy it too, except that he became a bit bored with the 3 mile ride and scenerary and kept occupying himself with the handle bars and my knee as it went up and down when I pedaled. Also, my son tried to doze off in the i-bert and I had to to keep him awake due to safetty-- because their isnt anything to support his little head so, that was a bit unfortunate/alarming. Because we enjoyed riding so much and want to keep our son safe my husband and I purchased the Burley bike trailer (incase our son becomes dozey again in a future ride we cold then transfer him form the i-bert to the Burley).I received several compliments with the i-bert from passerbys, they thought the i-bert was a great idea. Overall, we are satisfied customers.
Best option     On: 2008-05-27

I have this seat and a trailer. The Ibert is great because you can talk to your baby. We put our 8 month in it just to test it out, he is a very big 8mo with good neck control so i took the 1y min as a conservative estimate. He loves it and so do we.
The best     On: 2008-05-26

Bought based on Amazon reviews. Im 60" and have my 22 month old in it and he loves it. Have to spread the legs ever so slightly, but nowhere near annoying. I have it on a cruiser type bike and it is working great. I would have no problems recommending this to friends. First ride on the bike trail at Yosemite and my son loved looking out at something other than my back side. I cannot tell you how many people commented on how cool the Ibert looked. Seriously considering another one for when baby #2 is old enough to go on my wifes bike.
Simple and it works!     On: 2008-05-25

This is actually the first product that Ive reviewed and Im not the type that normally likes items. I usually always find something I dont like about a product. The ibert just works. I bought an Electra cruiser and wanted a child seat that was easy to install. The ibert took all of 10 minutes to install and I was off riding. With the child seat on it works great and in 10 seconds I can have the seat off and be riding solo. Im 64" so I do rub my knee on the seat now and again but its not a hinderance by any means. Easy install, easy seat removal, easy getting the kids in and out, just easy. Why cant everything just work like this?
Much love to Ibert     On: 2008-05-24

My husband and I wanted to get a bicycle seat for our daughter but was unsure if we wanted the front mounted or the back. Well, after a lot of thought we decided on the front mounted and soooo glad we did. I just felt a little uneasy with my one year old being behind me with me either constantly looking to see what she was doing or not at all-and obviously not at all was not an option. My daughter loves this seat as much as my husband and I do. Assembly is a no brainer and only took a couple of minutes to attach. My only problem is that Im a little on the short side, 51", and I guess my arms are short too :) so the first bike I got was a mountain bike.....bad idea for me because I could barely reach around her to be able to hold on to the handle bars. So, I took that bike back and got a beach cruiser.....much, much better!!! I would definitely say this seat was worth every penny!
Love it!     On: 2008-05-20

Love this seat and so does my one year old son. Its great to be able to sit him in front of me. I am 56" and I dont hit the seat with my knees which is great, but that probably depends a lot on your bike. I showed my neighbor the seat and she is going to buy one too. Its a great product, highly recommend.
Love this seat!     On: 2008-05-18

I love this product but it does have one drawback. My son is nowhere near the weight capacity but he is almost too tall for it. It is difficult to get him in and out of the seat. However, once he is in he absolutely loves it. It was also very easy to install. I would highly recommend this product!
I love the iBert Seat     On: 2008-05-16

My 19 month old loves this seat. Its very easy to install and it fits him perfectly. He is 26 lbs and 33 inches tall, and he still has room to grow with the seat. The only thing I dont like about this seat is the straps. They are hard to adjust and dont seem to fit him perfectly. But other than that its a great buy. My husband has it on his bike and hes 6 foot tall and it doesnt bother him or hit his knees when he is riding.
Yipeeee     On: 2008-05-15

Great seat,my daughter loves it as she can see all around instead of look at my back:) I can cycle perfectly fine with the seat in place.

One negative is that the safety belt feels pretty cheap given the cost of this seat. At this price point, quality 5 point harness would be welcome I have to put the belt on my girl first and then her helmet, which with an 18month old is a trial as she hates the helmet. The belt is then hard to adjust and tighten around my little one.

If you leave your bike out in the rain, the rain water will gather on the seat and the foot wells which is a pain to drain.Either you gotta take the seat out and turn it over to pour out the water or turn the bike over:) Easily solved by drilling some tiny holes to let the water out but should I need to do this? Two very basic design flaws that should have been caught.

However even with these little negatives, I recommend the ibert to my fellow amazonians for the great joy itll give you and yours during those fun bike rides.

ps I got a horn for the handlebars too!!
Great Child Seat     On: 2008-05-15

My son loves this seat. He enjoys sitting in front looking around. I enjoy interacting with him. It was very easy to install and setup. It doesnt cause any balance problems while riding. I also bought an infant helmet which is a must have. Everyone stops us to ask how the seat works and where they can get one. Great fun! Highly recommend this product.
Baby loves it.     On: 2008-05-14

Pretty easy to use and install I highly recommend it. Maybe you wont be able to use it for many years to come but it is still worth it. My son loves it, he laughs out loud when we ride.
LOVE THIS BIKE SEAT!!!     On: 2008-05-12

My 13 month old loves this seat. My son runs up to the bike and points at the seat every time he goes into the garage. I love how easy it is to ride with him in it. I have two other children on their own bikes and we stop often. It is very easy to maintain my balance with the child in the front of the bike instead of the back of the bike. I absolutely love this seat and would recommend it to everyone.
Great product     On: 2008-05-12

We are extremely happy with our purchase. My husband is 61" and on the larger side and he is not hindered by this seat at all. Our 2 yr old loves it and says it is very comfy for him. Very stable, light weight, and easy to install and easy to get your child in and out of. Highly recommend!!!
Son loves it     On: 2008-05-08

My son loves riding in the seat and it works okay for me. The only issue I have with it is that it seems to not quite fit my bike (a large frame Novara Buzz): my knees hit the sides of the seat sometimes. Fortunately, its easy enough to avoid by keeping my knees out a bit. I also cant stand over the top post between the saddle and the iBert seat - theres just not enough room. Im sure a different frame with a more upright position would be best. Overall I am still happy with it and prefer this over a rear mounted seat.
Very inconvenient     On: 2008-05-07

I had such high hopes for this child bike seat and it fell flat on its face! I read all the reviews and it seemed great. In reality though, it is extremely awkward and very dangerous. I am a woman of average height and build (56" and 140 lbs). There is only 6" clearance between the child seat and my bicycle seat even with the child seat pushed all the way forward. This makes mounting the bicylce next to impossible. Also, my knees hit the child seat when pedaling, even when adjusting it as high as it will go. Please beware of child and parent safety before using this bike seat! I am returning it and starting my search over.
Highly Recommended!     On: 2008-05-07

I just purchased an iBert Safe-T seat based on the large number of positive reviews. I recieved my seat yesterday and was NOT disappointed. It installed in minutes and felt very secure. My daughter loved the view from the front and the bike was still very functional (I could hardly tell she was along for the ride).

Great Product!
Unconventional & Terrific!!!     On: 2008-05-04

I hadnt ridden a bike for several years. We had this installed and I took our daughter for a ride with absolutely no problem. She loved it - loved being able to see everything. I had no issues w/ balance and it was very easy. I didnt need to hold my legs in an unnatural position to ride and despite the fact that Im 52 it worked great! Would recommend it to anyone.
Great Product!!!     On: 2008-05-02

This is a wonderful product. My 26 month old daughter loves to now ride on the bike. We had a trailer that we put her in when she was quite small but as she got older, she did not enjoy biking and therefore, neither did mom and dad. We needed to find something that would allow her to be a part of the experience, and this product does just that. I feel quite comfortable about the safety and stability compared to other products especially those mounted on the back of the bike. My husband is a rather large man at 62" and he has no problems with hitting the seat. We would definitely recommend this product!
Great for infant-toddler biking     On: 2008-05-02

We purchased this because of the rave reviews, and have been very happy with it. I needed a way to take my infant son and toddler daughter biking at the same time on short trips (less than 10 miles). Now I tote our infant in his car seat via Burley, and my toddler rides the iBert. Its really fun! An added bonus of this configuration is that I can see my infant in the Burley without having to look around a rear-mounted child carrier. Installation was easy, although I was surprised by how wiggly the seat is on the rod that attaches to the seat. The bike-to-rod connection is quite solid, so it doesnt pose a safety issue, just seems this could be refined. You do not notice the motion at all while biking. Assemble it, pop in your child and ride! Theres nothing to practice because its your natural balance. I feel like Im in a parade because everyone waves at us as we pass by. My toddler says about every 2 minutes, "This is pretty fun!" She notices things she couldnt see before, like the paint on the road and how I use my hands to signal turns. Its extremely interactive.

As to why this isnt 5-star for me:
The shoulder strap is insubstantial. Im not convinced that she would stay in the seat if we took a spill because its not easy to keep it over her shoulders. Maybe this is because shes nearly 3 and taller. There is also no bottom-cushion for the child to sit on. Id think this could get uncomfortable on longer rides, especially for kids out of diapers. Weve taken the shoulder pad from our 2006 model Burley and put it in the seat for padding--it fits perfectly.

Bikes come in so many configurations, I think its hard to know if you will have trouble with your knees hitting or having enough space between your seat and the iBert before purchase. My knees do hit slightly, even though my seat is up quite high. Ive also moved my seat back as far as possible and the iBert as far forward as possible, and still find its a tight fit between the two when I get off to stop (Im 57" and 120 lbs). These things are not hugely problematic, but good to be aware of. Also, this is not the right seat for long-distance rides. I absolutely love it for around town, but would rely on a more substantial bike trailer for rides over 15 miles or so. Get the iBert, and enjoy! It makes me want to ride just thinking about it.
Wonderful product!     On: 2008-04-28

We have a toddler who loves to "go" and also loves to be outside. We had gotten one of those bike trailers for him to ride in but he seemed scared about being so low to the ground and unable to see us when we rode with him, and I was also worried about having him in something that we didnt have much control over when we were on the road. I also realized that his main view from the trailer was of my husbands butt and legs pedaling the bike and while I happen to like that view :) I thought that it probably wasnt the most exciting or educational for our kiddo.

I got this over my husbands skepticism that it would actually work. Within 10 minutes we were both believers. The seat installs in no time and with minimal tools - unlike some ladies here I had my husband do the installing because I am a big chicken :) but I easily could have done it myself, with no trouble. 15 minutes after pulling the seat out of the box it was on the bike and we were on the road. My son LOVED being able to sit close to me and see everything as we pedaled down the road, he was pointing things out left and right (literally!). He got upset when we had to go back home and for the rest of the evening kept asking for "more ride bike? More ride bike?" So this product gets thumbs up from both the adults and the kid in our household!

I didnt think that the seat made the bike any more difficult to maneuver and my son (who is quite tall for his age, already over 36 inches at 21 months old) didnt impede my steering or braking at all, even with his bulky bike helmet on. He doesnt have much room to grow in the seat, and we do have to take his shoes off to get him in it, but once hes in, he fits fine and feels very secure and stable in the seat. Its more of a workout for me to have him on the bike but thats not a bad thing, I could use the exercise :) and its well worth it to have so much interaction with him when were riding. We were able to talk about everything we saw as we whizzed down the street.

I think this is a winner of a product and much better than those back-of-the-bike seats (we tried one and I think those DO make the bike feel more unstable) and the trailers. I love this and feel it was well worth the money. Its a simple idea but this product executes it well. If youre considering this item, dont hesitate, buy it! It makes getting out on the bike with your child a lot more fun. After using this I have come to the conclusion that those bike trailers are much better used for gear than they are for kids!
love this seat!     On: 2008-04-25

Love it, love it, love it! After researching and reading lots of reviews about toddler bike seats, I went with this one and couldnt be happier. I installed it myself in 10 minutes and Im the Mom! Its really nice to have my daughter on the front of the bike because I can point out things we see and talk about them. Its like going on an adventure! The only weird thing is that the shoulder harness gets twisted a bit, but it still fastens the same so its not a big deal.
The best carrier!     On: 2008-04-24

This seat is the best. My three year old loves it even though we bought it for her baby brother. She fits in it just fine, and with a simple adjustment to tighten the straps, her baby brother gets his turn.

I also installed it myself in a few minutes...

We have a trailer but I was always shouting back to the kids, and I couldnt hear their comments. With the iBert, we can talk and chat about the scenery with ease.

The only problem about this seat is that we have only one! And since getting this, no one wants the bike trailer.
LOVE thissssssssssss     On: 2008-04-24

I love this product very easy to install and a lot better than the trailer..... you can interact with your child and spend rather than just a bike ride in the back... I got this for 66.00 shipped I got 2 of them one for me and one for my husband.. they kids love it and want to ride everyday.. this is one great product
AWSOME!!!     On: 2008-04-21

This seat is the best. My 18 month old son enjoys the ride! The seat is very easy to put on and I like how you can leave the metal brace on and just take the actual seat off in just a few seconds. Im only 5 foot 2 and I can see just fine over my sons head. I wish I could see his smiling face while were riding though!
very comfortable     On: 2008-04-19

We go biking at least twice a week, some around the neighborhood and sometimes on trails, the child seat is very comfortable for the child and the adult. We have not had any problems with maneuverability or comfort. This product is easy to install and I feel that it is safe.
Wow! This is great!     On: 2008-04-11

I am the sort of girl who never changed a tire and I installed this in 3 minutes on a suspension mountian bike. My Daughter is 22 months old and was initially terrified of this thing. I ended up forcing her to go in it and started to ride, within 60 seconds she was giggling and asking for more when I stopped. We have ridden it to several different parks and I have no problem handling it, though I am not a strong rider.

I much prefer the ibert to the Chariot Double trailer we have for three reasons. One, it is small and easy to get out the door quickly (the last thing I need is something else to slow us down!). The second reason is that it that I dont have to worry about locking it up seperately. I live in the city and a $600.00 chariot would not last long unlocked, but this isnt so expensive that I worry about theft while I drink my decaf, so I just lock the bike and go on my way. The third reason is that because I am not a strong rider, this doesnt add any excess weight. I have the baby who weighs 20 pounds, a panier or two, and myself, and that is it, no excess trailer weight.

It does not take the place of a trailer for longer outings (for those I make my husband peddle the kid with all the gear), but for the casual trip out to lunch, recreational fitness, or to the playground that is just a bit to far to walk, it is great.

My DD loves it so much she woke up from her nap and ask to put on her helmet and go "ridin". When we get home, she crys, "no, I want more ridin."

Finally, I was concerned about the maximums when I ordered, since I had never seen a front mounted bike seat in person, but I think my daughter (22 mo) should be able to use this until she is 4. She is not a large kid, but still has 4-5 inches or so in the legs and her head does not get in my way at all.

Best $80.00 spent in a long time!     On: 2008-04-09

I received this seat yesterday and could not wait to try it out. My son is 19 months old and almost 36" tall. This seat works great. I installed it on my Gary Fisher Marlin mountain bike and it worked perfectly. Installation was very easy, taking less than 5 minutes. The package even include the required hex wrench.

Once on the road, I was able to ride without adjusting my pedaling style and without my knees hitting the seat. My son really enjoyed the ride. With my shifter and brake lever set-up I did have to take his shoes off to slide him into the seat. This is not a huge deal and I am sure this would not be necessary if my levers were in a different position.

I do agree with some of the other reviews that the shoulder strap design could be improved. It is not too difficult to use, but it could be better. It would definitely be worth an extra $5-$10 if the seat included a shoulder strap set-up similar to the "5-point" designs found in childrens car seats.

Overall, I would not hesitate to order this product again or to give it as a gift. The simplicicty of the design and installation are wonderful and it makes it so easy to have fun with your kids. Get out and ride!!!!
We had to get a Second one!     On: 2008-04-08

We got our first Ibert seat just after Christmas for our 16 month old. Immediately there were problems. Our 2-and-a-half-year-old who we thought would be too big for it was constantly wanting to go for rides in it and they would fight over who got to sit in it. My kids hate car seats and strollers, but they love this seat. We got a second one and they both love to go for family rides. We are always getting comments on them. Its really nice to be able to talk to the child while were riding. We love them.

Just one insight on how they fit on different bikes. When we first got the Ibert I put it on a mountain bike and it fit okay, but there wasnt much clearance space between my childs head and me (Im 55") because you have to lean forward to ride on a mountain bike. But when I put the seat on my beach cruiser there is no problem with clearance between child and rider. So if you are short like me, a bike with an upright seating position will give the most comfortable ride with this seat. I love this seat! Best one out there!
Great Buy!     On: 2008-04-08

I bought this for my 20 month old and she loves it she feels a lot better riding up front than behind me ..its really easy to install too..and since its in the front its easier to balance..overall its a really great product.
My daughter loves it!     On: 2008-04-07

Our two year old daughter loves her new seat for the bicycle and with the positioning of the iBert Front Mounted seat the bike isnt hard to balance for us. It was easy to install and get her set up, so all in all a very good product for the money.
Great product - build quality could be improved     On: 2008-04-07

The iBert is lots of fun and by far the best front-mounted seat that I have found. It took just minutes to install and my daughter loves it. Ive even used it together with a bike-along on the back without stability problems (though that configuration does make you feel like youre flying a 747!)

As a 61" guy, I was concerned that my knees might hit the seat. But as others have noted, the iBert is narrow enough and mounted high enough that this really doesnt happen. I might be spreading my legs a tiny bit outwards, but not enough to be noticeable.

There IS a bit of a clearance issue getting on and off the bike. I weigh about 185 lbs, and the iBert (even in its most forward position) does impact my belly if I hop off the seat and straddle the bike. Jumping down in an emergency could be tricky. My wife weighs about 235, and unfortunately, it looks like there just wont be adequate clearance to use the iBert comfortably on her bike.

There really isnt much to this seat, so Ill bet the manufacturer is enjoying a pretty sweet margin. If they had spent a little more on build quality, this product would be perfect. As an engineer, I have these concerns:

1. The plastic seat shell is held to the metal bracket beneath it using four compression fittings (threadless bolts with metal rings pressure-fitted to the ends) instead of real, threaded bolts. While the seat seems secure enough, Im considering drilling these out and installing real bolts for peace-of-mind.

2. The "stinger" (mounting bracket which attaches to the handlebar stem) does allow the seat to be quickly removed. But I think it would be unsafe to ride with just the stinger in place, unless you relish the idea of a 10" metal bar impaling your gut or groin in the event of a front-end collision!

3. The sheath on the seat that slides over the stinger fits more loosely than I expected, making the iBert wobble from side to side a bit. Its not a major problem, but I reduced it by putting two heavy-duty cable ties around the sheath (longwise) to make the stinger fit more snugly.

4. The seatbelt assembly is thin and rather cheap, and the waist bar is so cheaply made that its latch is molded out of the plastic itself; it will probably flex and break eventually. This should really be improved in the next revision.

I hope the iBert folks consider improving their design, but dont let my comments stop you from buying the iBert today. It truly is a lot of fun!

The best!!! The greatest!!! Don't think any more, just click buy.     On: 2008-04-06

Without doubt, this is the greatest bike accessory for a small child ever made. Its design is almost flawless (the slightly annoying cotter pin is the biggest problem). The joy it will bring to you and your children is immense.

I used this with my older son for about a year and a half or so, but now hes 4 1/2 and 36 lbs, a bit over the limit. I still let him right it now and then, just because nothing approaches this for his age (Im currently shopping for a one-wheel trailer). At that weight, you feel it if he leans way over the side. I used this all the time with him--taking him to and from preschool, to the playground, store, and for recreational rides.

We live in Philadelphia, in the city, and ride with this on the narrow city streets with cars. At first, I was afraid to ride with traffic, and only rode on sidewalks at low speeds (nobody cares about you riding on the sidewalks when you have a small child strapped to the front of your bike). Eventually, I became comfortable enough with it that I started riding on the streets (even the ones without bike lanes), because I found that I rode extremely cautiously and conservatively when he was with me--no running stop signs, often pulling over to let cars pass or going onto the sidewalk, going slow, etc.

Now my younger son is old enough to ride in it (hes 16 months). You can start at 12 months, but hey, that was December in Philadelphia. We took a really quick test ride two weeks ago, all went well. Then I put him in it to demonstrate for my father, who was visiting from out of town. After the brief demo ride with HUGE smiles, I went to take him out by raising the safety bar, and he IMMEDIATELY snapped that thing back down with all the force he could muster. Not getting the message right away, I tried again with the same results. Another more forceful attempt to evict him from the seat got me a "Nuh, Nuh, Nuh, Nuh!!!" (translation: No, no, no, no!). So I ask, "Do you want to ride the bike more?" "YAH!" with vigorous nods and emphatic signing of "more, more, more." It wasnt a very warm day, and we rode for over twenty minutes, until my fingers were red and starting to sting. Only then could I get him out. What higher recommendation could there be for a product?
great baby bike seat     On: 2008-04-06

Works for us and is so cool to have the baby in front so you can talk to them while you ride.
Much better bike seat     On: 2008-03-31

My 22-month old loves this bike seat. She loves seeing everything from the front of the bike and being kind of cuddled in front of me while she rides. It does seem safer than the old behind-the-seat kind. It does rub your knees when you ride a little, but that didnt bother me. It also takes some getting used to, since the center of balance is more forward than youre used to when riding. But I think its much better than the old kind of seat. Very easy to install, and durable.
We all love it!     On: 2008-03-30

My husband and I just bought this for our sons first birthday... His birthdays still a couple months away and we just couldnt wait to try it out. We installed it on my husbands bike - such an easy install! And we took our son for his first ride around the neighborhood. He absolutely LOVED it. He couldnt keep that smile off his face! We both tried it out and its so easy to ride. It just feels so natural. And the best part is that our son can see where were going (as opposed to those seats that mount behind you.) and you can actually see your kid. This is such a great product! I definitely recommend it!
Love, love, love it! Both of us!     On: 2008-03-29

This is wonderful! I researched this before I bought it and now I know what everyone was raving about. Im 54" and my son is 34". Installation was so easy. I think I spent more time reading the few instructions than I did installing it. Less than 5 minutes. You do need to have at least 3/4" on the handlebar stem for the bracket on the stinger to attach. You attach the stinger with two screws (hex key included)then slide the seat on. Finally, slip the ring pin through the hole on the seat plate and your off! Thats it. The only problem that I had was that I couldnt put my son in the seat with his shoes on. That was no big deal compared to the GREAT BIG smile on his face when we took off. He didnt want to stop riding around. I had no problem with my knees touching or with any balancing. I loved that I could see what he was pointing to and answer questions he was asking! It was so great. I really wish I had known about this sooner. Im so glad I went with this bike seat.
Other info from instructions: Designed to carry children up to 38 lbs., Not for children under 12 months (child must be able to sit up straight with head held upright while wearing a helmet)
Great bike seat     On: 2008-03-26

The iBert bike seat is great! Easy to install and my 21 month old daughter couldnt stop giggling and waving at people from her seat with a great view. I feel much safer with her right in front of me, and it is much easier to balance than with a rear-mounted seat. Thank you Miss Fitz vendor for shipping to a military postal address via USPS priority mail and only charging $8. Other vendors either wouldnt ship or would have charged $40.
best frontseat ever!!     On: 2008-03-25

This seat is easy to install (even on my semi MTB, were the bobike didnt fit) and very comfortable for my 16 month/33 inch/25 lbs son. We started using it when he was 14 months and loved it. Still much space available for him to grow. Only issue we had is to get him used to the helmed which I think is a must for safety. I stop cycling whenever he pulls on it or takes it of and gently put it back before cycling again. This worked and now he is grabbing his helmed even before I put him in the seat! He is even happy when he falls asleep while we are on the go. I lean forward to my stear, so his head will rest on my arm when he falls asleep in stead of banging all around. I rarely touch the seat with my knees. I would recommend this seat to everyone keen to cycle with their littleones. We have it now for 2 months and as sson as he sees the bike with seat attached he really wants to go.
It is really easy and nice     On: 2008-03-24

REALLY easy to install!!!!

Update on my earlier review!!     On: 2008-03-12

My husband bought this for me so I could take my then 14 month old daughter riding with me, she is now 22mo. It took about 4 minutes for me to completely install versus the 45 + minutes that a back seat would have taken. I was really worried to buy this b/c I couldnt envision how the center of gravity would work, how hard/easy it would be to put my daughter in and how it would be riding with her. EVERYTHING is easy, putting her in, strapping her in, and riding. We have used this seat quite a bit. There are a few cons to the seat I have discovered over time. #1- the straps are an absolute JOKE, no matter how you tighten them they do not stay on. #2- when your child falls asleep from the motion of the bike they slump over. I feel the WeeRider has an advantage as it seems to address the slumping over issue. I had to ride 1.5 miles trying to hold my daughter up so her forehead wasnt being racked into the handle bars as I was going over gravel which did make it dangerous since I was unable to brake or steer with both hands. This was the first time I was extremely nervous riding. I would recommend if you get this to go ahead and get a 2nd stinger bar so switching from one bike to the next only takes 30 seconds or less.

Overall, this is an A+ seat and I do recommend it.
Best Bike Seat Imaginable!!     On: 2008-03-12

My husband just bought this for me for my birthday so I can take my 14 month old daughter riding with me. I was also afraid of my own abilities to ride and have my daughter on the bike, scared probably more than anything, and for the most part Im pretty comfortable using it.
Im 54" and my knees barely touch the outside of the seat when Im riding. The curvature of the seat deflects your knees and it really is a great ride. I would recommend if you get this to go ahead and get a 2nd stinger bar so switching from one bike to the next only takes 30 seconds or less.

Overall, this is an A++++ seat and I would most definitely recommend it.
Awesome product     On: 2008-02-12

I was one of the first people to get this bike seat on the island of Oahu - I may still be the only one! I have not seen anyone else with one. We are constantly stopped and asked questions about it because it is so novel. The seat is comfortable, the manufacturer is very customer-oriented, it is easy to use, the position enhances the childs safety and enjoyment and its far easier for me to bike with him up front. We learn how to signal left and right together, I can see what he is looking at and he has never fallen asleep up there (probably because he gets good rest at night and during his nap). I havent had any problems at all with my knees hitting the seat, nor finding a good position at stoplights as noted in other reviews.
Great seat     On: 2008-02-11

I bought this for my 15-month-old daughter and it works really well. She weighs 20 pounds and is 30" tall. The seat still has a few inches of leg room for her to grow into. There is also plenty of clearance for her under the handle bars of my bike. I am 5 6" and can peddle comfortably without my knees hitting the seat. It was also super easy to install.
Awesome     On: 2007-12-28

This is the invention that should have happened before the seat on the back! Best thing we have ever bought for our children and bikes!
my experience     On: 2007-11-29

Just my experience:

I am a 5 ft. 3 in. woman, I weigh about 40 pounds. I am not athletic or particularly coordinated.

I had not ridden a bike in 5 years, purchased a bike and this seat at the same time.

Did not begin using the seat until my son was age 2 1/2, weighing a little more than 25 pounds.

Is it too hard to pedal? No, it isnt. I do walk up a lot of hills, and a lot of the time we are going pretty slow, but it is fun and not too hard.

Does a toddler like it? Yes, he does. He has figured out how to use my hand brakes, I let him do it a lot of times when we are starting out, until the novelty wears off. I dont bother with the black strap, he is big enough not to fall out. If we are going slow on a flat sidewalk, I let him "steer" by himself and hold on to the side of the seat, he likes to hold on to the handlebars by himself sometimes. (More than I can safely let him.)

Safety: He has fallen once, when I was going to walk accross a street. I didnt have a good grasp of how front-heavy we were, and he just tipped sideways and I couldnt catch him. But it was no big deal. I am very careful now though, when I am not riding, to hold on with two hands. On the other hand -- it is a very smooth ride, I have never felt any lopsidedness when we are riding. And this includes when he rocks from side to side. He has head-butted my chest (knocking his head behind him) a couple of times, it would have hurt if he had gotten my face (with his helmet). I cant really address this though, his head-butting phase is basically over.

ok seat for bike     On: 2007-11-26

I used this seat for my 1 yr old this summer. Overall it was ok. Had some trouble getting her legs to slide in under the handle bars of my bike and you still have to peddle with your legs turned out some. I found the best was to peddle with the edge of my feet just on the peddles. Very easy to take on and off the bike. Kind of tippy having the kids weight up front and had to get a different bike so that when you lean over to reach the handle bars we were not smacking our heads together. Would be ok for a smaller child but now that my toddler had reached 30lbs I dont think well use it much.
Excellent, This seat is wonderful     On: 2007-11-23

We have had this seat for just over a year and a half now and absolutely love it. We used to use the seat that mounts over the rear wheel and it really throws off your balance. With this one you are completely balanced, the weight is where your center of gravity should be, and guess what your knees dont hit it as you pedal. Our children are 2 & 4, our 4 Yr old is small and he still fits in it, we need to get another one because they fight over who gets to go for a ride, and with another child soon to be here...ya, we will be getting another one. Thanks ibert, this is a great product!
iBert Safe-T Front Mounted Child Bicycle Seat     On: 2007-11-21

This was purchased for our 1yr old grandson as a request from his mother. They had only heard good things about it and definitely wanted one. Since it is snowy & almost winter in Vermont, they wont be trying it out till about April.
iBert can be pure fun     On: 2007-11-05

Some observations on the iBert Safe-T-Seat:

Installation: easy
Time: 15 minutes
Take off handlebar, install iBert stinger, and once thats secure, you slide the seat on and pin it in place. There is more than one hole on the seat plate so that you can adjust the seat position forward or backward (not that the adjustment makes a whole lot of difference). Installation is faster with two persons although one person could definitely swing it from the on-bike position. Very easy to adjust stinger with the hex tool.

Ride: very good
Not very different from regular biking.
First test run with seat only: Pedaling does not make knees hit the seat. If it does, you need to raise your bike seat to elongate your pedaling stroke as well as your handlebar.

Very small amount of wobble on iBert, but it is not noticeable when riding around.

iBert does not interfere with steering at all. Plenty of room for arms. Rode around cul-de-sac end to test 360 left/right turning.

Changing gears: easy, no change from regular cycling; both gearshifts are positioned by my thumbs, lowside -- no chance baby can mess with them in-flight. Your bike may be different.

Safety belt: needs improvement
Works differently from what I thought at first, but you learn to adjust it fairly quickly. There is only one adjustment "buckle" on the right bottom side, so you have to push the slack down the right front, up the left side, then left to right under the seat back. Annoying! I would have preferred to have two adjustments, one on each side. But once you make the adjustment for your toddler, you wont have to do it often again.

Vision: no problems from the seat or having a helmeted toddler in front of me. There is plenty of clearance to see potholes, dog poops, mud piles, branches in front of the bike. You can raise your seat and handlebar anyway.

Fun factor: son did not want to get out of the seat after the test ride. On the day after we took a long ride on a bike trail, and it was so much fun!

Children can reach controls... be careful...     On: 2007-11-01

It is a nice seat within its limitations. Many have told its advantages and disadvantages and I think advantages outweigh disadvantages. I want to mention one more dis-advantage.

Children tend to be inquisitive and my boy is observing me when ever I shift gears and trying to imitate me. It is within his reach sitting in the front and I need to be more careful and divert his attention when I shift gears.
I love this bike seat!     On: 2007-10-23

Everything the other reviewers have said about this seat is true - it is a piece of cake to install, does not get in the way of your legs while pedaling, and my son (just about 13 months) LOVES it. We used a back-mounted seat for him on a couple of rides, and he cried almost the whole time, and hated to put on his helmet. With the Ibert, he squeals with delight when we go riding, and after one outing, he made no more protests about the helmet. I am not an expert biker by any means, and I admit I was a little worried at first that I would not be able to balance or steer with my son sitting right near the handlebars, but that is not the case at all. The way the seat fits on the bike distributes the weight so naturally that I feel completely safe going everywhere with him on the bike. Well worth the money!

I-Bert baby seat     On: 2007-10-19

Excellent product --- our 20-month-old loves taking bike rides now that she can sit up in front and see everything that we see. She did not like being behind us in a rear seat carrier. One thing to consider, however, is the amount of leg room between the baby seat and the cyclist. Im just under six-feet-tall and use the I-Bert on a comfort bike, and my knees sometimes rub against the back of it. Its not a problem so much as a minor limitation. My wife is about 56" and has plenty of room.
Simply the best seat on the market     On: 2007-10-12

Ive looked at all of them and this was the only one that had consistently good reviews. This is one of the very few times that I have bought something based solely on the reviews, but the other seats had such bad reviews that I had to give this a try. The five star rating is well-deserved.

High points:
1. MY WIFE PUT IT ON THE BIKE. That is historic. It is very easy to install. You can read the instructions and have it put on the bike in 5 minutes. All other seats require HOURS or require you to take it to a bike shop.
2. Seat is sturdy and my little girl loves it.
3. Instructions say max. weight is 38 lbs. Some reviews show a lower weight so they may be for an older model.
4. MY WIFE PUT IT ON THE BIKE. Oh, I already said that.
5. Im 62" and this was not a problem to use. It takes a little adjustment when you are turning the bike, but that is not a problem. Did I tell you that my wife put it on the bike?

Low points:
1. None, other than I wish I had known that you could buy additional mounts at the time I bought it so I could save on shipping.
Love this seat!     On: 2007-10-11

This bike seat is the best...our 15-month old son absolutely loves it and gets really excited when we pull out his bike helmet. One of the nicest things about it is that my husband can keep a close eye on him the whole time since the seat is in front....people are always asking us where we got it. We definitely recommend this seat.
Great Seat but there are negatives     On: 2007-10-09

I bought this product for my 22 month old son who weighs a little over 29 lbs now. The boy loves the seat and the assembling on the bike is fairly easy. The seat easily comes on and off within 1 minute once the clamp is attached to the handle. The positives on this seat are definitely the fact that the child can see everything rather than looking at the adults back. It also allows for close interaction between you and your child as you can speak to them directly and they can look up and see you.

I have mounted the seat on a mountain bike and the 3 big negatives that Ive found so far is that since the bike is mounted near the center of the bike, you basically lose the ability to straddle the bike when you have to stop riding. This can be difficult when you come up to a stop light and you have to turn the bike handle to the left so that you can make enough room to be able to fit between the seat and the baby carrier and straddle the bike. Another disadvantage compared to rear baby carriers is that my son will usually fall asleep after riding about 15 or 20 minutes since he enjoys the motion. But since the carrier doesnt have a high back or sides, his head doesnt get any support so he starts to lean forward or to the side. The shoulder straps keep him in place, so Im not too concerned about safety, its more an issue of convenience as I dont like to ride with him "flopping" about like that. Lastly, when removing the boy from the seat, his foot will have a tendency to get stuck in between the carrier and the front handlebar. You have to make an effort to push his feet to point down before it will slip through and you can carry him out. This is due to the fact that with a lower handlebar and the gears on the handle, it doesnt leave much free space to maneuver.

I dont think the manufacturer can really do too much about the negatives I mentioned and I do think that having the child riding up front outweighs the negatives when compared to a rear seat carrier. According to the manufacturer, they rated this seat up to 32 lbs only, so I only have a few more months to use this. But I intend to make the most of it since I enjoy biking and getting the chance to do it with my son with this product makes it much easier.

Works great     On: 2007-09-17

I have a 20 month old daughter and it allows her to be on front and see whats going on. She likes that a lot. We most bike on easy trails and around town. It can be a bit of a rough ride for her and she will probably outgrow it fairly soon.

But, she enjoys going for bike rides on front and she doesnt when shes on back.
Little frog bike seat     On: 2007-09-09

This is great. I am 61 and i have no problems with my legs hitting the seat. It is so nice to have my 1yr old son in front of me the whole time. Took no time to attatch to bike. I think the harness could be a lot better but all and all its a great product.
LOVE THIS!!     On: 2007-08-22

We have a (now) 2-year old that we wanted to go biking with. We had a trailer, which he hated--hed spend the whole ride crying, wanting to get out and be with us. I saw these ride-up-front baby-seats, but was concerned I would be hitting my knees because because Im quite tall. We chose the iBert because it looked like it gave a little more leg-room. I also liked the tilt of the legs on the seat, so my toddler cant try to stand up while were riding. We all LOVE it! Instead of crying about riding, he now wants to go every time he sees the bike. I love having him up with me, knowing hes safe and sound (he was always slipping around in the trailer). I only wish I had gotten it when he was younger, so I could have the maximum amount of time with it. Installation couldnt have been easier, either. It truly took 5 minutes. One more thing I want to mention, I called the company directly before I ordered, and I believe I spoke with the woman who designed it herself, and she was VERY nice, helpful, and accomodating.
Awesome Seat     On: 2007-08-21

My 21 month old son and I love the extra time that we spend on the bike thanks to the ibert. He is so happy when he is on the bike that I do not know who likes it more. It is such a pleasure to see him pick up his bike helmet the minute I walk in the door. Another convert.
Safe and Fun Seat - Fantastic!     On: 2007-08-20

We love the IBert! I can see my 11 month old daughter and she can see where were going. She loves biking. When its time to take her down from the seat, I lift the safety bar but she lowers it back down as if to say, "No way, I want to keep going!" Now if we can just get her to be as enthusiastic about the helmet! This seat beats any rear wheel seat hands down. I couldnt be more pleased.
Great option for toddlers     On: 2007-08-14

My daughter is one and a half, and just loves this bike seat. It is very comfortable for both of us. I have a road bike with a small frame, and this was one of the only options for us. Its great that my knees dont have to be held out to the side, and I dont bump them on anything. It is very balanced having her in between my arms, and we both really enjoy the time to talk, look at everything, and ride for longer distances. It was a piece of cake to install, and only took a few minutes. Overall, I feel having her in front is the safest place for her to be. If I were to fall, I could try my best to hang onto the handlebars, and that would cushion her fall against my arms. I hope she doesnt outgrow it too soon.

Daughter loves it     On: 2007-08-11

My daughter and I are enjoying this bike seat. It is really safe and secure and allows us to interact while riding without my having to look backwards. Great product.
Great product     On: 2007-08-05

This seat was easy to install, my 3 year old son fits perfectly and the seat does not get in my way at all. I love it and so does my son. This is a great product and would highly recommend this to anyone looking to buy a child saftey seat. There isnt really anything negative to say about this product or I would.
Ridiculously easy to install, much more fun to use     On: 2007-08-02

I took the spike and attached it to my road bike stem in less than 5 minutes, slid on the seat, put the lock-pin in place, and done!

From a convenience point of view, this comes off in seconds, meaning I can go cycling solo minus the iBert no problem. I had to slightly angle my knees (hardly at all), and will need to lower my seat so I can straddle the bike over my seat - since the "little frog" occupies the main strut space now.

After doing a trial with a rear-trailer with my 1 year old boy (he screamed his lungs out for part of the ride), I was curious to see how he took to this. For starters he looked much more comfortable in "little frog"... which has a comfortable sitting angle complete with a handle. He got to sit right up with dad and see all the action. The only time he got upset was when I stopped cycling. Finally - a good reason to cry.

iBert is cool     On: 2007-07-25

The iBert is a great bike seat, my daughter loves it. She used to dread riding in the trailer but she is eager to ride on the bike where she can see and interact with me. The only problem is that I have a short top tube and it is a very narrow fit to get between her and the seat when Im standing at an intersection. My knees slightly bump the seat but not near as bad as other front seats. Overall, we love it and are incredibly happy with our decision to purchase the iBert.
We LOVE our iBert!     On: 2007-07-18

I just wanted to let everyone know that is bike seat is AWSOME! My 11 mo old daughter absolutely loves going on bike rides. I really cant say enough about how wonderful I think this seat is. I get to talk to my daughter and point things out to her as we are riding. The seat is sturdy and made of top grade materials. My bike is easy to steer (even one handed for a couple of minutes) and does not compromise the weight/balance of the bike in any way. We are having an aswome summer biking to the beach and around town! Definely an A+++ product! Also, customer service at iBert is excellent! Unfortunatly the box my seat came in was damaged during the shipping process and was missing the hex key (no fault of iBert). Kelly of iBert immediately sent me out a new one. A+++ customer service! Thanks so much we are having a blast!
We Love It!     On: 2007-07-18

Great seat for bigger bikes     On: 2007-07-12

I love the whole concept of this seat - it is so fun to ride a bike with your child in front of you so that you can communicate with them and see where they are looking, etc. The only downfall is that if you have a small bike frame like me, theres barely any room for you to straddle the bike while standing - you have to lower your seat so that you can stand over your seat. Its not ideal. Judging from other peoples reviews, it sounds like this bike seat fits large bikes better. I kept the iBert even though I had to lower my own bike seat to accomodate it. Im just not an efficient rider with my seat lowered so that I cant get full extension of my legs. I still like the product though.
Design Design Design     On: 2007-07-07

I tried one of the "universal" behind-the-saddle child seats. It took 3 hours to assemble and I had to go to the hardware store twice in the process to purchase different length bolts to work with our particular bikes. After the whole ordeal,my child didnt like being stuck behind us and the seat was stuck on one bike. I returned the offensive seat and found the iBert seat here. Install was 2 allen bolts for a total of 5 minutes max. My child loves being out front and by purchasing a second stinger mount we can switch between bikes with no wrenching in less than a minute. Sweet design.
We have cruiser style bikes and I am 63" and my legs do not contact the front mounted seat.
Love the seat     On: 2007-07-02

We love the seat. We have new mountain bikes from WalMart- the ones with the shocks under the seat and on the wheels. We had no problems hooking it up. We love that this bike is easy to transfer from bike to bike- we bought an extra attachment bar, now we dont have to change bikes just to follow the seat. My son LOVES it, he will go for a ride even when it is 40 degrees (we live in MN).

Some things that probably need to be addressed- my son loves riding in it and wont sleep. But if he did, I am not sure what would happen to him- there is no upper body support so I suppose he would slump over to the side. Also, the strap over the body is difficult to put on, especially if he already has his helmet on. But I consider these things quite minor and I plan on buying another of these seats for my next kid.
Don't assume it will fit your bike.     On: 2007-06-28

I have 2 bikes. One is a fairly modern mountain bike, and the other is a classic mens 3 speed. I was disappointed that the seat would not fit on the mountain bike, and I barely got it to fit the 3 speed after raising the neck a couple of inches. The problem is that the bar that you clamp to the bikes neck is not very long, and then the actual seat will butt up against the handle bars. Another 1/2 inch in the bar would make a big difference.
iBert is the Best!!     On: 2007-06-26

Our 20 month old daughter love, Love, LOVES this bike seat!!! It has opened up a whole new world of sights and sounds at fabulous speeds - shes talking up a storm about all she sees and hears, squealing with delight, pointing and laughing and interacting with her environment and sharing it all with us - she cant get enough ride time in her new seat!
LOVE IT!!!!!     On: 2007-06-25

I spent alot of time looking up front bike seats and read all of the reviews on here. We got it for our sons 1st bday and he loves it. I feel very secure riding with him on it. I feel much better than with the trailer kind which a friend lent to us. My husband loved the trailer and dint want to give it up now loves the iBert. So easy to attach and take off. I highly recommend it to anyone!!!!
Very Good Product!     On: 2007-05-31

My daughter loves to ride. This seat is easy to install and remove when not in use. The "Lap Bar" hinges up for easy loading / unloading. I am 6 tall and was worried about my knees hitting the seat, but that is not a problem.

If I had to say something negative, the 2 things I dont like about the seat is; the seat belt, and the "Lap Bar Latch".
Seatbelt; doesnt secure over Tess shoulders in the BACK very well and her shoulders keep coming out of it. The slots in the back are a little wide for my small 2yo Tess, and dont adjust smaller. Also, Its hard to get the seat belt over her head with her helmet on.
"Lap Bar" makes it easy to load and unload but I think the lock/catch could be a little stronger.

I still love this seat and would buy it again for my self or a friend.

Love it, love it, love it!     On: 2007-05-29

I love this seat! For my older daughter we used the rear mount seat. I always felt guilty that the poor kid couuldnt see much and could never feel the rush of the wind in her face as we cruised down a hill. This baby has experienced both seats, and by far prefers the iBert. She cries to go for a ride every time she sees the bike. The seat is very easy to install. I had concerns about my knees hitting the seat, but there is plenty of room. My six foot tall husband also has no problem either. The bike is much easier to balance than with a rear mount seat. The only thing I dont like about the seat is the seat belt. It doesnt feel as secure as I would liike. Also, I cant put the baby in the seat with her helmet already on and then get the seat belt over her head. Just a minor inconvienence. I love the seat though!
She loves it!     On: 2007-05-28

Our 15 month old daughter LOVES this bike seat. She stands at the back door and says "bike?" (one of her first words) and cant wait to ride. We love having her in the front. Its almost too comfortable for her...she actually fell asleep on the way home from one long bike ride. Its comfortable for us too. Neither my husband (64") nor I (54") bump our knees on the seat. We got 2 stinger assemblies to quickly switch the seat between bikes. I highly recommend this seat.

We live in south florida and all the seats you can get are here to view and speak to owneres about. The Ibert is by far the easiest and child friendly available.

Easy to load baby
Easy to install
Kids are on a roller coster seeing to road and passer-bys- NOT your back
Kids can honk a horn on handlebar

Cons-
only fits bike with long stem

Nearly perfect     On: 2007-05-23

I have a bike trailer that I never use because it is too inconvenient to have to unfold/fold/pack away in between rides (would be different if I had a garage). I was worried about the safety of traditional bike seats because of the way they throw off the center of balance.

In many ways, the iBert is perfect. My bike is still balanced correctly, its easy to steer, I can carry on conversations with my son while we bike -- and he LOVES it.

There are two problems with it, in my experience. Perhaps this isnt an issue for taller people, but I find that every time I stop to rest my foot on the ground it is a struggle to get back on my seat and push off because the iBert is in the way of where I would naturally be. The other problem was related to this, and it was that over the course of a longish ride, the seat, while still quite securely fastened to the bike, would get bumped from side to side. I put a thin piece of rubber in between the mounting assembly and my bike frame for traction, and this is no longer an issue.

We get a lot of attention with this seat, all of it positive, and I am always happy to answer questions.
Excellent Product!     On: 2007-05-23

My daughter and I both love this product. It is easy to attach to the bike as well as remove. Its stable, safe and comfortable for both of us. She enjoys it because She can see the road ahead, and talk to me easily. I feel comfortable seeing what she is doing, as well as the weight displacement is far better than any other bike seat I have ever used. We have tried a trailer and rear mounted seat and this is the solution we have been looking for. I only wish it could hold a little more weight, since She is almost at the max. limit now.

Nothing is blocking his view and he loves to see everything in front of him. Installation was easy and took my husband only 10 minutes. That is the best seat you can find in my opinion and is worth every cent.

Plenty of leg room for me, 57" on an Earth Cruiser. Very easy to install and havent had any issues in 10 rides with it.

Child Bike Seat     On: 2007-05-14

We are very happy with our iBert bike seat. It is so much fun to be riding while our daughter is comfortably seated between my arms. She likes to point at things along the way and tilt her head back to look at me while we ride. This product is a little expensive compared to other child bike seats, but it provides the best control and interaction with the child during the ride.
Awesome bicycle seat!     On: 2007-05-14

We researched bicycle seats for a long time so we could try to get the safest and best seat for our 2-year-old. We love the fact that it fits on the front of the bike rather than the back, and our daughter absolutely LOVES riding in it. We had gotten her a helmet prior to this, and she did not like to wear the helmet at all - but once she rode in this seat and realized how much she loved it, she started bringing her helmet to us and asking to go for bike rides! It was very easy to install with just one person and it is very sturdy and appears to be relatively safe. Customer service was stellar, communication was prompt and shipping was fast. We are very pleased with this purchase!

Great Product - Definitely an eye catcher     On: 2007-05-13

I love this device and so does my 3 year old daughter. What I like most is that I can actually have a conversation about all were seeing as we cycle from place to place.

It also catches everyone by surprise because they think its something that I created exclusively for my kid. They are most surprised that I purchased it, and that they can to.

Its a little pricey considering that it has a weight limit of 32lbs. My daughter will out grow this device in a month or two; so the only thing I wish was that the weight limit was greater or I had found and purchased this item when she was much younger.

However, this is a must have if you are considering purchasing a bicycle seat for your infant or toddler who are not near the weight limit at this time. Get this unit and dont even waste your time or money on the devices that attach to the rear of the seat.

Fantastic Seat     On: 2007-05-10

I had always thought I wanted a rear mount child seat because I was afraid that a front mount would get in the way. When a friend bought the iBert I thought well, I have to get a seat so Ill try out hers. I put my daughter in the seat and we took off. I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to navigate. My daughter loved it too so we ordered one (amazon got it here in 2 days!!).
It was easy to install on the bike and my daughter wants to ride in it constantly. Its easy to get her in and out and she seems completely comfortable.
I like the fact that it attaches to the handlebar shaft because it keeps her far enough away from me that I dont have trouble pedaling. Ive got short legs and no room to have a seat too close.
Check your bike first and make sure that you have a handlebar shaft that it relatively smooth. Mine is a little bit slanted and although it still fits safely, it would probably fit better if it were completely flat.

Just what we wanted!     On: 2007-04-07

My husband and son love this seat! Its a little more money than others we had looked at, but we think worth it. He says it doesnt change the ride or the way the bike handles at all, and our son is right at 30 lbs. His little brother can enjoy it next once he is old enough. My husband was also amazed at the simple, sturdy design that took just minutes to install on his bike! We recommend this bike seat!
Quick install and it works great for a 5'2" mom!     On: 2007-03-29

My husband installed this seat on my bike and it took just 10 minutes or so. (It would have taken less time, but he first did a temporary install to see if I would be able to ride around comfortably with it on my bike.) I am very satisfied and so is my daughter. Since I am only 52", I was scared that the seat would be a bad fit for my bike. I was afraid I would have a hard time seeing over my 34" daughters head with her helmet on, but I really didnt have any problems at all. I am totally satisfied and I am so glad that I was able to get a front mounted seat. The rear mounted seats just seemed so impersonal. Im sure the view of the open road in front of us is WAY more interesting for her to look at than my back anyway. :)
iBert Bike Seat     On: 2007-03-18

We bought the iBert seat after checking out all of the reviews. It is a great product--well designed and executed, but with one flaw that I havent seen addressed. Look closely at the picture and notice how little space there is between the back of the iBert and the front of the bike seat. If you are accustomed to straddling the bike before taking off or after stopping, forget it. We ended up purchasing a funky curved seat post that moved the seat back a few inches just to get more clearance. It works fine, but added to the cost of the whole set up.

This product is fantastic..very easy to install on my mountain bike and my 11 month old son loves sitting in it ! Highly recommended ! Does not interfere with normal bike operation and it is wonderful to be able to speak to my son while riding the bike.
Great Idea     On: 2007-01-09

This seat is a wonderful alternative to the traditional pull behind or ride behind child carriers(we have both). My husband loves riding around the neighborhood with our 1 year old daughter on display, and of course she is beyond thrilled to ride up front with Daddy. That being said, I am a small person and this seat does not work for me. I am 53" and cannot even get on my bike with this seat in place. However, I believe that it is a worthy investment for our family in the Daddy/Daughter department...the smiles beaming from their faces says it all.
BTW:When we want to do serious road or trail biking vs. neighborhood biking we use our pull behind child carrier.
Best baby seat out there     On: 2007-01-09

THis seat is exactly what I wanted. The baby is in front so I can see her and even have my arms around her. She can look around and see me, not just my back. Its perfectly comfortable for myself or my husband to ride around with her. Initially I thought Id leave the baby driving to him because I was nervous but theres no reason to be with this seat. Worth the money for sure, its actually on of the best baby products Ive bought. THere are cheaper models out there but then your legs kind of need to bow out because the seat is in the way. Some people may not mind to get a cheaper seat but for me, this top of the line seat is perfect and worth every penny. Its very simple and sometimes less is more as is the case with this. My husband and myself and my 6 year old have already taken our baby on countless hours of fun rides because its one of the only activites we can all do together. One added bonus is that the baby is always tired after a ride. (so are the rest of us!) THe whole family is enjoying this purchase tremendously so that makes this seat priceless.
Great bike seat!! centreville, va     On: 2007-01-05

I researched bike seats for a while before purchasing this one. I was very amazed at how simple it was to put together and how sturdy it is. I wanted a seat where I could have my daughter in front of me safely secured on the frame of the bike. I recieved it with in 2-3 days, before her first birthday!! Shes now 14 months and still has plenty of room to grow into it, we look forward to the spring and summer!
great front bike seat     On: 2006-11-13

I spent quite some time researching different products before plumping for this one. It is great...does not bump your knees while pedaling, because situated well forward, comfy, easy to clean, pretty easy to take off its "spike". The childs seating position, with feet up, helps protect the child from any road debris, as well as making it tricky for them to wiggle out of the seat or stand up etc. it really is super. Obvious huge plus of being able to chat to child, and see what they are up to! Only negative is that when seat is detatched, the remaining "spike" can catch your leg. Doesnt bother me as I tend to leave the seat on, with or without child!
Excellent - easy to install, use and fun for the passenger!     On: 2006-10-24

My husband had this seat installed in about 20 minutes, start to finish. The standard rear mount took him at least an hour. There were differences in the bike frame, but this one seemed much easier to install overall. Our son is very tall for his age (35" at 20 months) but he fit just fine. He loves holding onto the handlebars and pretending to steer. It was far more interactive for me - I could see what he was looking at and pointing out. This also contributed to increased safety - instead of feeling and then reacting to changes in balance, I could proactively anticipate balance changes simply by watching where he was looking. Getting him in and out was easier than the rear mount - just reach down while straddling the bike. The shipment arrived quickly and the company is very customer-oriented. Excellent product! Highly recommend it.
Simply the Best!!!     On: 2006-09-21

Before purchasing this seat, I had to carefuly do a deep research on the subject. I am a 62" guy, so, a was really concerned about having the seat hitting my knees. My neighbor has another model, which does not work at all for me, not even for him. He has to keep his legs king of open in order to be able to ride the bike... Terrible!

Furtunately, I decided to go with the most expensive model. Sometimes the cheap become expenseive, isnt it? well... I did the right decision, instead of spending $48 dollars, I spent $89.00 on this safe-T-seat, and I cannot be happier.

The seat mechanism is really simple. Its just a little T-bar that you will be in contact with the bike. The seat plugs itself on this bar. The seat keeps in a perfect position. Even my long legs do not touch it when riding. I can ride my bike just like I was riding before the new passenger.

It took me less than 5 minutes to install the T-bar on my bike.

My daughter stays in a very comfortable position. By the way, she loved the new activity, and keeps asking me all the time for "MORE" when she sees the bike.

Well, if you want to have pleasure time and no headaches while in your bike, this is the seat you need to purchase.

CONS: The only thing I didnt like much about this product is that it only support kids up to 32 pouds. Well, nothing in the world is totally perfect! So there is no time to lose, I will ride my bike with my daughter as much as I can before she reachs her 32 pouds. :)

Simply fantastic!     On: 2006-08-14

The Ibert Safe-T-Seat is an outstanding product. The mounting design is simple and looks to mount on pretty much any bike. This is the best design I could find for my dual suspension mountain bike. The rear mounts are not an option. Its great to have my child in front of me and interactive on our rides. If your looking for a great childrens bike seat, look no further than Ibert, you wont be disappointed.
