![]() Cat Eye EL410 Compact Opticube Headlight By: Cateye Average Rating: 4.0 Total Reviews: 8 More Information The search for the perfect light What I like about this light is that it is small but pretty bright. OK, it isnt powerful enough for anyone considering it as a sole source of light on a night ride. What it is good for is for being seen and for illuminating a small area. Ive attached it to my helmet, and in combination with my stronger (10 watt halogen light) it is really great. So, I can turn my head in the direction of some object I need to illuminate even it it isnt directly in front of me while my bigger/stronger light continues to illuminate what is directly ahead. This gives me just one more way of staying safe out there on my commute at night. Cant say I cared much for the attachment strap. Mostly a hassle. I took it off entirely and used my own method of attaching it to my helmet. (Duct tape!) Works great, and makes me an official "Fred". Cateye LED Bicycle Light I have used many bicycle lights over my lifetime, including generator lights. The Cateye is the first LED B.L that I have purchased. I feel it is far superior to any other light that Ive owned. It would recommend it 2 anyone. Great "light" great product at a good value works great, versatile mounting positions, takes up very little room on your handlebars, and its much cheaper online than in the stores. Great light, Horrible Mount I was deeply disappointed to find that this wonderful light by Cat Eye was accompanied by such an unfortunate mount. I got this light as a present for a friend, and we spent about 30 minutes trying to figure out the plastic attachment. Then, despite our best efforts, the light barely stayed square on the handlebars. NOTICE: There is no attachment you can turn or screw to tighten the mount. Instead, you get a flimsy, useless little latch that keeps the light in place until you hit a bump. You dont want your light flipping forward or sideways when you hit a bump, do you? Thats when I find I want and need the light most. Our solution? Electrical tape. If you dont mind supplementing the light mount with about a foot of electrical tape to keep it in place, then you might like this light. My friend, however, wanted to move the light from one bike to another. BIG PAIN. Dont waste your money on this horribly designed product. There are many other lights that actually stay mounted to your handlebars. My advice: find those and buy them. Cateye HL-ED410 LED Bike headlight This light is really great. Inexpensive and surprisingly bright for 3LEDS and the price. The little ring of light was a bonus... it helps for people seeing you on the bike from the side. Good product. Bright versatile light with flimsy mounting This is a very nice light - its extremely bright and lighter than many of its counterparts. It has solid and flashing modes, which are nice. It is also adjustable, so you dont have to mount it some place that is facing straight forward or at a 90 degree angle to where you want the light to point. The only minus is its mounting strap. Yes, this may be nice for putting it on your helmet. I dont want it on my helmet - I want it on my handlebars. Its hard to get it on there snugly, and even if you do you might have to adjust it a few times, only to take it off when you get to your destination. If its raining or snowing this only makes your handlebars slick and its even more difficult to mount the light. Its still better than average, a good deal, and I would probably buy it again. Great headlight This is a great headlight for biking at night. It is surprisingly bright, has a flashing mode which gets the attention of cars and saves battery life, attaches to my helmet so I dont have to worry about it get stolen... I dont know if I would feel comfortable offroading with this light, but its definitely great for biking around the dark neighborhoods at night. I recommend it. :) Great headlight This is a great headlight for biking at night.
