Ahhhh     On: 2008-07-02

I just got a new (used) bike and after riding it a few times, I had to give my "body" a break. I could hardly handle the pain of sitting on that seat again. I bought this seat hoping for some relief.

1. The seat does not feel like a soft pillow or cushion. Its a bike seat, it is not supposed to. It does however give a great deal more cushion that my original gel seat topped with additional gel seat cover. (how two gel seats end up feeling like a sharp rock, I dont know)It is softer, yes, but the greater impact is from having my weight more evenly distributed.

2. It is wide, but not ridiculously so. It did not impair the way I ride in any way.

3. It does cause you to sit higher up, make sure you have the room. Im 52", so I was concerned, but it worked out.

4. The seat arrived in only a few days. Im very happy with the new seat and I recommend it.
Love this seat!!! A must for women!     On: 2008-06-22

I bought this seat after reading the reviews; the seat my mountain bike came with could only be described as a device of torture. Im about 55 and 135 - hoping the bike will help me drop the last of my baby-weight - but in order to do that, I have to ride! I was in such pain after riding on my old seat I didnt even want to sit down on ANYthing.

This seat is GREAT! All the women in my cul de sac tried it and said theyd order one too. It eliminates the problem with hip bones hitting metal - its totally comfortable and now I just have to worry about the pain in my quads from pedaling - which is doable!

Id recommend this seat to anyone. I installed it myself in minutes; just make sure you have a 1/2" wrench. Cant say enough good things about it - truly a great product.
big wide seat     On: 2008-05-04

This is a big really wide bike seat. I mean this seat is really w i d e. When you sit on this seat, your legs can only pedal on one side!! If you took this seat on an airliner for some reason, you would have to purchase the aisle and middle seats! Only one person in my entire neighborhood has overwhelmed this seat. She is Bertha winegold known locally as "big fat enormous behind bertha" She is only 5 feet two inches but she has to weigh 400 pounds! What she is doing on a bicycle I will never know! Before I could stop her she got on this seat and I promise you, totally obliterated it! It was as if the clouds had suddenly obliterated the sun!!
Still if you need a w i d e bike seat, you know, if your tush is so wide it seems to move in a different direction as if unattached to the rest of you, than this is probably your best bet at least until someone puts out a sofa with pedals
Yikes... not what I expected....     On: 2008-03-24

Hmmm... this is not like what I thought it was going to be like when I got it. The seat is just way too wide and I pedaled like a clown on a tricycle. The seat isnt all that comfortable either... feels like hard rubber. When I would go over bumps there is/was a metal "clinking" sound as the seat would compress and and release tension from the lower springs. It looks gigantic on my 2008 Specialized CrossTrail Expert bike as well. I took it off and bought a different Cloud 9 seat that was a little over 7 inches wide and has the spring suspension and gel padding. That seat is MUCH better than this one (browse around and you will find it and also my review on it).

It just doesnt fit my build I guess. I am 63" and weigh about 215lbs in case that helps anyone.

Also beware of the return policy...
Great seat for your seat     On: 2008-03-10

The original seat that came on my bicycle was terrible. It hurt so much to ride. With this seat, I was able to ride without any discomfort. It is really comfortable and I can go on longer rides with my son. We love to bike ride while camping and I would have to cut the rides short, but now we can really be adventurous with this new seat. I would highly recommend this seat to anyone.
No sliver lining to this cloud.....     On: 2008-03-06

I dont feel this seat is any more comfortable than the stock seat it replaced. Build quality is A-1, but lacks in justifing money spent to replace the original seat. if I didnt have to pay return shipping, I would return it....
No a cloud !!     On: 2008-02-29

I bought this seat at Amazon week ago ,It looks great and very easy to install but its not as soft as I thought "Cloud " , made of hard rubber, bumps on horn and rare of the seat are very uncomfortable constently slides the rider toward the front of the seat. Now I am buying Gel cover for this seat to reduce the discomfort.
Cloud 9 Bicycle seat works well     On: 2008-02-19

I had been experiencing tailbone pain from my previous bicycle seat so thought maybe a wider seat would help. I read the other Amazon reviews on this seat and it sounded like the best option available. I am pleased with it. It seems to have reduced my current pain but it may take a while for it to be completely healed. Hoping this will do the trick! So far I like it. Only downside I can see is that it raises me up much higher than my other seat and makes it is more difficult to get on and off the bike in a hurry. I have it adjusted as low as it can be on my bike. Otherwise I think its a great product.
good saddle     On: 2007-12-17

The seat is easy to install. I ride from 10 to 20 miles a day on my bike mainly for exercise. I am not sore after riding like I was on the narrow seat that came on my bike. It is not as soft as I thought it would be, but it does not become uncomfortable after a long ride. All in all I am pleased with the saddle and would buy another if the need arose. It is well constructed and does not look cheap. I use it on the Mongoose Blackcomb. It does not hurt when I ride over large bumps or holes in the trail. I am 60 and my butt appreciates the seat.
Nicely padded and wide. Much better than a regular seat     On: 2007-12-13

Bought this to replace a standard seat. Its much more comfortable, wide and soft but not overly so. Any bike seat invented by man will eventually after a long enough ride start to feel like a hard seat, but this seat delays that inevitable point quite well. Ill get another one when this one wears out.
big, wide, and comfy     On: 2007-10-02

Very comfortable seat, seems to be well made, easy to install, and available at a bargain price. If youre tired of the pain from narrow bike seats - this one is for you.
Big wide cloud nine bicycle seat     On: 2007-10-01

This was such a great purchase, that I bought 2 more for gifts. I am overweight and was starting to bicycle for exercise - but I couldnt ride for more that a mile at a time with my old seat. I purchased the cloud nine and I rode 12 miles the first weekend! My dad tried my seat and it was so much more comfortable that he wanted to use my bike for the rest of the trip. So, I went home and purchased 2 more seats for my Dad and Stepmom so we could all enjoy our ride and stay out longer. Now, my biggest challenge is having the kids keep up with me! My husband liked the seat so much that he stole my Dads before I gave it to him, so now I have to purchase a 4th!
Really big..............and comfortable     On: 2007-08-23

This is alot more comfortable than the seat that came with my bike. I can ride a lot longer. My "nutty buddies" dont seem to have a problem with this seat. They were hurting using the original seat though. Im 63 205 lbs. btw.
Cushy & Comfy     On: 2007-08-20

This is a GREAT seat. I just got a new bike and had this seat put on. Its so comfortable.
Still haven't received it.     On: 2007-08-10

I dont know why but I still have not received this item and I ordered it over a month ago. Please help.
Extends Riding Time     On: 2007-07-16

I started riding again after several years being off the bike. My previous seat was a slimmer gell seat but even with that I got pretty sore after 20 miles. The Cloud 9 was more comfortable after the same ride. It takes a little getting used to if your use to a narrow seat but Im happy I got it.
Sweet     On: 2007-05-14

Beautiful seat...I have been looking for a seat this comfortable for a while and I found it in this one. Your bottom does not have to go through that period of pure pain trying to get used to the seat going up your butt because this one doesnt! The springs help cushion your ride even more!
True Comfort     On: 2007-03-15

As most of us develop an exercise program we develop a schedule calling for more and better in our program. Riding a bicycle is no different from any other exercise program.... except for the comfort of the bicycle seat. The cloud 9 makes it possible to do more and better with the utmost in comfort. You have to buy this seat if you are serious at all about your bicycle exercise program OR if you just want the most comfortable ride possible.

I never could go more than 20 miles before cloud 9, the pain was too intense. Now I can ride 5 extra miles just for fun!
Very Comfortable Seat     On: 2007-02-18

My seat just came in today. I couldnt wait to mount it on the bike and see how it felt. In a word, its Wonderful!

You should know I am 6 feet tall and weigh 250 lbs, so Im not a small guy. Seat discomfort has been the biggest downside of cycling for me. I usually have no problem strectching the springs and padding as far as it will go. But not with this seat. With full weight on the seat, the springs only move slightly. The padding is firm but comfortable. This seat is on a K2 Big Easy Deuce with the stretch frame geometry. It is now the most comfortable bike I could ever imagine riding.

If you are blessed with a larger than average frame and backside and you have tended to tax seats to their limit in the past, this could be the seat for you. I am very pleased with mine and glad I took the time to research the subject. Now, come on summer!!!
