Beyond Expectations     On: 2008-02-26

I purchased this bike two weeks ago. I have used it daily for my 6 mile work commute and have taken it on one 20 mile excursion. It is silent, fast and solid. I can break it down in seconds...its intuitive...just flip a few levers and its folded. The Shimano system is excellent and precise. Im 6ft and 15lbs over the 230 weight limit stated but I can tell this bike is designed to handle well beyond. Time will tell how it endures...but for now Im quite impressed and give it my highest recommendation.
no home should be without one     On: 2007-07-20

what do you expect in the name schwinn? well, you get what they h ave always delivered for more than 50 years
quality, sturdy machine, fabulous design, and facilities that work- safety features, plus a guarantee, multi speeds at a fraction of the costs of competitors whose history is not proven in service or quality like Schwinn
Dahon knock-off     On: 2007-03-17

FYI...this same bike is also branded "Yeah" and available from various vendors. They go for considerably less under the Yeah brand name. The folding mechanism and other parts are patented by and used under license from Dahon. These bikes are decent for the price, but used Dahons such as the Speed or Vitesse sell on clearance for just a bit more, have a larger number of shops that can work on them, and hold their value better than these knockoffs.

This bike was SUPER easy to assemble. Bought it for our son but now my husband wants one! Great value.
Eartly review - satisfactory if not outstanding     On: 2007-01-12

I just got this bike and I have only ridden it a few times. My brother, who rides more than I do now, commented that the small size of the wheels greatly reduces the natural gyroscope effect of riding a bike, and I agree. I do not think this bike would be comfortable for more than a couple of mile commute. But since my plan is to either stash the bike in my car trunk or take it on a bus, that is exactly how far I will be going. The low gear is not low enough for much of a hill (at least, not for long) and you will quickly ride past the high gear on a down slope. Top speed pedaling is under 20 mph, my guess being around 15 mph. But the price, compared to other folding bikes, was unbeatable, particularly factoring in Amazons free shipping. The fenders mean you can ride in almost any conditions, and though it is a bit heavy, it is still transportable up a flight of city steps (welcome to Pittsburghs hills). All told, the best folding bike for the price.

Update 9/20/07 - After months of riding the bike a mile each to and from my car five times a week, I say this is a compromise bike in every sense. I had it looked at and adjusted by a professional shop early on. It is too big to carry easly or fit well on a bus, but it rides better because it is big. It was cheap to buy, but now the brakes dont seem to want to stop it very well and it has picked up some rattles and started to rust in places. Still the best bike for the money, but be aware of how little you are paying. The Kent might be better if you want to take it on the bus.
