![]() Huffy Alpine Girls 24-Inch Mountain Bike By: Huffy Average Rating: 2.0 Total Reviews: 1 More Information Seems cheap I ordered this bike for my 10yo daughter last week. When it arrived, the box was pretty well destroyed--bicycles dont seem to ship well. The bicycle arrived in 5 parts and required assembly. It wasnt too difficult for my husband, but it took the better part of 30 minutes. If avoiding assembly is an issue for you, be sure to skip ordering a bicycle from Amazon. Unfortunately, something is wrong with the handlebars or the hardware used to hold them on the bike because they cannot be properly tightened. Rather than taking our chances on a new handlebar assembly from Huffy, were boxing it up and sending it back. If something as simple as handlebars are an issue, Im afraid we may have bigger problems with gears or breaks down the road. This bicycle runs large. On the lowest seat setting, my 56 inch daughter couldnt get anywhere near the ground with her feet. It is also quite heavy. I suppose I should be thankful it came broken so we have a good reason to return it. We ended up buying the Schwinn 24" Girls Ranger Bike, and my daughter loves it. The Ranger is lightweight, well made, and attractive, with a smaller, more compact frame and lower profile. But we went to the store and bought it for the same price fully assembled. My husband is on strike. |
