![]() Adidas 2008 El Moro Mountain Bike Shoe - Black/R. White - 863252 By: adidas Average Rating: 5.0 Total Reviews: 1 More Information A beautiful, comfortable and resistant MTB shoe Intended use -- Urban rides to work and some casual entertainment cycling during weekends. Bicycle equipment -- Fixed gear bicycle equipped with Crank Brothers Egg Beater C pedals. Review -- This is my first pair of MTB shoes ever so I cannot provide a comparison to other models within or outside the brand. However, the experience of riding and walking with this shoes has been quite positive. The studs on the sole of the shoe are high enough to keep your cleats away from scratching the ground and they have also being spaced around the SPD cleat so they dont interfere when clipping on the pedal. A strong velcro strap, lace fastening metal wires anchored to the sole and lots of cushioning keep the shoes comfortably tight and safe on your feet. Every shoe comes with a removable sole part that could be put in place for walking when cleats are not installed... not a bad idea for protecting your cleats if cycling wont be the only activity you will be performing when visiting the mountains. Regarding Crank Brothers Egg Beater C pedals, I have heard many negative comments on the past for these ones to lack a platform surface for greater transmission of pedaling force. I am not sure whether there is a cycling shoe that is not provided with an integrated platform on its sole, but Adidas has not forgotten to put a very solid one on their 2008 El Moro shoes. To me, these shoes and pedals make an obvious combo. As for the looks I must say these are an incredible blend of performance and style. High performance fabrics used on this shoe are sophisticated but also resistant. Always stressing the logo of the brand, details on white on the back and front of the shoe are light reflective. To me, cycling in town works more as an extension of my day to day routines and less as a segregated activity characterized by long and tedious equipment/gadgetry setup and preparation. With this shoes I am a cyclist when I am on my bicycle but I am also a pedestrian when I am not on it. Clipping and unclipping is the time it takes me to switch between these two different roles. For those looking for an even more affordable options you should check on Adidas Minrett shoes. |
