I picked up this lock a year and a half ago from a local bike shop. It worked great for short trips around my small hometown, but then i came to college in a large city. After two days of not riding my bike, it was gone. I was lucky enough to actually recover my bike with a new paint job. I will never trust any bike i own to a chintzy combo cable lock ever again. I now have a kryptonite U lock for securing my ride. Also the plastic bike mounted holder for it broke after a half mile of riding. On: 2007-10-12
I had one really nice bike stolen with this lock. The lock vanished with the bike, so I wanted to figure out how easy it was to remove. Cutting it would be pretty easy, since its a cable, but hitting the barrel with a hammer worked just as well. I smacked it good once and broke the main pin.
I dont recommend the barrel lock/cable combination. The barrel components are too easily broken. A U-lock will take more abuse and cant be cut with bolt cutters.
