![]() DeFeet Air-E-Ator Im Happy Sock By: DeFeet Average Rating: 5.0 Total Reviews: 1 More Information The best socks ever. This is for Air-e-ator in general, not particularly the 'Happy Sock' I have a fair pile of cycling socks, various brands, and theres only one brand that Ive ever worn to the point of wearing them out--Air-e-ator. Every once in a while I try buying some other brand because I like the graphics or because its another brand I typically rely on, and Im always disappointed by the relatively short life span and lack of comfort provided by those other brands. Whether its for cycling, running, or skiing, this is the sock I recommend, and no other. Even if youre prone to sweaty feet, these have you wishing they made other kinds of socks like this--like dress socks. Ive even known some people to start wearing their Air-e-ators for everyday, casual wear because theyre the best, most comfortable socks on earth. Theyre also rather tough despite being so comfortable. Ive had one pair for about 10 years--washed after every use--and they still only have the very slightest signs of stretching, fading, or wear and tear. Amazing. Add that they come in some pretty nifty designs and colors. Now that Lance Armstrong is no longer riding in the Tour de France, its time for all you folks with the entire Discovery Team outfit to be "stylin"--and to realize that the team wear really isnt very good in terms of value, performance, or even fashion. You might as well start with your feet, and work your way up. Add that they pack a lot smaller than other socks, so if youre going camping you can carry a lot of them--because there is no greater luxury than clean, dry socks. P.S. Added May 30, 07: I remembered the other day something else that I have to laude these socks for--theyre mountain leech resistant, and therefore resistant to other kinds of bugs getting at your feet. I dont know anywhere in the States you would have this problem (maybe Texas or Florida, or in some Georgia swamp), but there was a certain day riding in Japan, in a leech infested forest, that made me glad I had these socks on versus what my friend had on--which allowed so many of the nasty little things at his feet that by the end of a just a couple of miles he was bleeding quite alot from his ankles and toes. I got bitten just a bit, but there was really no comparison to the relative horror scene my friend was suffering. So if youre headed to some tropical jungle somewhere, and want to keep the multitude of things which can infest your feet and toenails (jiggers for instance) out, this is your best bet because no shoe or boot is so well sealed as to keep such nasty stuff out. |
