![]() SRAM MRX Comp Rear Bicycle Twist Shifter (5-Speed) By: Sram Average Rating: 4.5 Total Reviews: 5 More Information exact replacement for Falcon MLG-26i I have a 10 year old Huffy Verona 18 speed mountain bike, that originally had Falcon MLG-26i twist shifters, these falcon shifters are very common in low-end mountain bikes. The Falcon shifter cracked and was beyond repair. I searched for a twist shifter replacement locally, the only replacements i found where Shimano shifters that cost more than the old bike itself. The Sram MRX was an excellent replacement at a very low price. The price on the Sram cannot be beat, and the shipping was ultra fast, it only took 4 days from the time I ordered to arrive. Installation is very easy, since the SRAM MRX already includes the cable. The instruction sheet is a little lacking, only having instructions on how to install the shifter on the handle, not how to adjust the derailleur. There are plenty of tutorials on-line on how to adjust once installed. The Sram shifter is much smoother than my old Falcon, it feels more like a friction shifter than an index one, except for the slight "click" that tells you that you have selected a gear. It is important to have a 2.5mm allen key available to install the shifter. I would also recommend buying a set of replacement cable sleeves, as the old ones could be rusted and will not allow the new cable to slip trough. Works finel. It has a 1:1 pull ratio which is fine. It has a light touch, so in gloves it is easy to shift when you dont intend to. I am using it on my recumbent. Easy to install and well-working replacement I had shifter with a broken piece and needed a replacement. I found this part to be an easy replacement without a serious upgrade in quality. This wasnt the exact replacement part but the next uptick in quality. It appears to have been almost the same part. I have never installed a shifter and found it quite a simple procedure. Good replacement. Shifter is easy to install. A perfect replacement for my bikes original shifter that wore out. Shift points line up perfectly with my cluster gear. Works very well, but I wish the shifts were crisper. I especially like Niagara Cycle Works. They have low prices, good service, and delivered more than I paid for! |
