![]() Fox Racing Flux Helmet By: Fox Average Rating: 3.5 Total Reviews: 3 More Information Nice Looking Mountain Biking Helmet This helmet looks great. I get compliments about how cool it looks. Which is very rare for a bicycle helmet. Its overprized in my opinion and the fit is not as good as a Giro. The shell easily gets scratched. For example I rode through low trees and a few small branches lightly brushed against the top of the helmet. When I was done with the ride I noticed the clear coating was peeling off on the places where the branches hit. I know its not because its matte colored. I have a Giro Hex in matte black and I rode through the same trail with no damage to the helmet at all. Another thing is you cant adjust the visor. Not really a big deal but for a $100 helmet you think this would be an added feature. I really like the extra coverage on the back and the matte urban camo color. I also like the vents, it keeps your head cool and you can really hear and feel the air as you zip downhill. The padding inside does a great job of keeping the sweat off your eyes and its very comfortable but due to the extra protection on the back Its not a helmet you wont forget that you have on. The straps on the ears are a bit strange since it is attached on the rim of the helmet. But it works great for wearing sunglasses. The back fitting system works identical to Giros roc loc system and provides excellent fit. I would really love to give this helmet 5 star but the price and the quality of the plastic shell decal or color and non adjustable visor is stopping me from doing so. Heavy,BULKY Found it to be heavy, bulky. The fit and finish were not half as good as a Giro.I traded it up for a Giro Animas. Sweet Helmet! Ive been off a bike for some time; thought I should get a new helmet for my new two wheels of tranportation! This Fox Helmet has tons of air flow, and a great behind-the-head sizer that helps keep the back of the helmet cinched to your dome. Very cool. |
