The CS 600 works fine with me. It is easy and efficiently to use, much better than some other bike computers I have tried. Reading the manual is not required. Basic use does not require the PC software. However, the CS 600 really shines when using the training program feature, which is only available when using the PC software.

I am using the Cs 600 with the wear link and cadence (WIND) sensors. Setup is easy and range of signal is more than enough. Range used to be a problem with my S710.

I had no problems installing and running the SW on Windows XP except for the drivers for the Polar USB IRD stick. Polar supplies the drivers on a mini CD that my computer could not handle. It took me quit some time to find the correct driver on Polars Web site.

I would buy the CS600 again or recommend to a friend.

Set up took just about 10 minutes. Everything zip ties onto the bike and you are off and running. It should included hte IrDA link but you can pick up a generic one and they work great.

Its is complicated while riding but you can get tons of info out of the computer once the ride is over and downloading it to the computer is great.

Polar CS 600 "cycling" computer

What a disappointment this bicycling computer is! Its far too hard to operate (there is far to many buttons to operate to get the data one needs). As a previous reviewer mentioned, "set up" of this computer is a "nightmare". The "Pro Trainer 5" software included with the computer did NOT install properly on my desktop computer running Windows XP.
The 2007 Polar catalog advertised that the CS 600 computer included the "cadence" sensor. After I purchased it, I learned from Polars web site that what their catalog advertised wasnt true. According to them, they had made a "mistake" in their catalog, and their cadence sensor wasnt included in the purchase price. I contacted my local bike shop, and they made good on my deal with them.
Even though they made good on the deal of the cadence sensor, it has never worked correctly. To sum it up, I havent been the least bit impressed with "Polar". Ill be shopping around for another bicycle "computer".

I love my new cycling computer. Polar customer service is great! I have placed over 5 calls so far for help with downloading and each time customer service and tech support has taken alot of time helping me!
