![]() Cateye TL-LD600BR(5)R LED Bicycle Tail and Safety Light (Red) By: Cateye Average Rating: 4.5 Total Reviews: 9 More Information Works well until it doesn't I have used this light for over a year. It has worked very well for me for about eight months or so, but in the last four I have noticed a problem. When I get home and take the light off, sometimes I see that it is not shining anymore. If I tap or jiggle the light, then it comes back on again. I have tried taking the batteries out and putting them back in again, but the problem persists. Anyway, when it works it is sufficiently wide and bright to serve its function well. Solid Little pricier than average rear lights, but worth it for size, visibility, variety of lighting settings (5). My favorite blinkie Ive purchased about every blinkie on the market and this is my favorite. It is bright, it attaches and detaches easily, and can be mounted vertically or horizontally. (My leg strikes it if it is horizontal, so I like being able to mount it on the bike vertically.) I commute at night in traffic, so having a dependable and bright rear light is very important to me. This is one that has done the job very well (bright)and has been very reliable. The best Ive used so far. My favorite blinkie Ive purchased about every blinkie on the market and this is my favorite. Cateye TL-LD600BR LED Bicycle tail light I bought this light because it was cheap and it looked cool (you could position it vertical and its kind of like a Cadillac light mixed with Knight Rider), but its also surprisingly bright. Works great, only complaint is difficulty taking the clamp off after installing. The light comes off so it wont get stolen, but the clamp stays. Good product It blinks brightly, was inexpensive to purchase, and has a good mounting system. Over the past month I have been using this for my daily commute through the city to school. Good light, one flaw This light has pretty much everything youd expect in a good taillight: bright, good battery life, strong mount, quick release, no tools needed to change battery, and waterproof. I purchased this light because my old one was stolen, so I keep this one with me rather than on the bike. The problem lies in the switch: it is too easy to press. The light often turns on in my bag which is aggravating because it runs the batteries down. After installing, I noticed passing motorists giving me a little more room. In blink mode the batteries seem to last forever. Mounting system seems a little weak, but judicious use of some electrical tape and it is secure. Cateye's Best Rear Light Of all the lights Ive used, this is the best. Very bright, long lasting batteries, but most of all the various modes will keep any car at a distance. Cateye again produces a winner! Mine fell off a number of times Its quite good as a light, but the bracket broke after 4 months and its gone. Before that, I found that the quick remove mechanism would also release with some bumps. Maybe its because I cant attach it to the seat column, as it expects, but just sort of cable tied it. My solution to the quick release had worked (a cable tie around the release) but just the other day I found only the column mount left. All the mounting parts are plastic and somewhat cheap. But the light is rather good, bright, and has flashing patterns. Although the quick on/off flashing does seem to annoy drivers in cars who sometimes shouted at me. But I am willing to try again and buy another one. Mine fell off a number of times Its quite good as a light, but the bracket broke after 4 months and its gone. I was concerned that it might fall off, since I do jumps and stuntriding at night. But the bracket is sturdy and has never been a problem. The different modes are more than enough (scanning, random, all-blink, always-on, off), and it seems to be quite bright -- or at least enough to give cars a little warning that Im on the road. Recommended if you ride in any situation where you want cars to see you from behind after sundown. I dont know how long the batteries last, because so far I have not needed to change them (30 hours of riding on scan-mode). |
