Great for riding when it's pitch black darkness     On: 2007-11-25

This is really great product and it has a fairly wide beam on it because of the 3 super bright white LEDs. I upgraded from a 4 AA battery Cat Eye HL-EL500 single LED headlamp. The EL500 isnt bad when riding in areas where there are street lamps but I find the beam somewhat narrow on pitch black trails. I sometimes ride on unpaved trails where there isnt any external light besides my headlamp and use the EL-700RC Triple Shot instead. I carry my EL500 in my backpack as a backup and it uses the same mount as the HL-EL700RC so I can switch between them without changing the mounting bracket.

I dont know how old my triple shot was stored in inventory but the battery needed to be brought back to its standard function. Read the instructions which are attached to the charger plug that connects to the battery and follow them.

Excellent Product     On: 2007-05-14

I am extremely impressed with this high quality light. It turns night into day. I am an early morning rider and this light makes me very visible to all traffic; as well as makes it possible for me to see all the road surface in front of me very clearly.

lights up the night!     On: 2006-12-13

this light is expensive even when bought at a discount but is worth it for the opportunity it provides to ride (relatively) safely at night.

i also use it for working beneath my cars although its much better suited for the bike.

i have had no problems whatsoever with the light so far. i initially
thought i had a defective battery but that was not the case. you need to carefully follow the instructions on charging as you may have to unplug the charger and plug it back in occasionally.
