If this were 4 long instead of 3, it would be perfect. Right now, Im able to lock my mountain bike to most bikes racks through the frame and rear tire, but it isnt long enough to loop through my front tire as well, or any other bikes. Its also too short to sling over my shoulder. In addition, it wont be able to get around thick tree trunks or pillars. This usually wouldnt be an issue in a high-density urban area, but where I live, it can come up from time to time.
That said, I still think its a good product. Ive heard some legendary tales of thieves giving up on bikes because they couldnt get through this chain. It is tough and its design is smart and simple. Keys can be registered for free on-line, so the lock isnt worthless if you happen to misplace the keys. And, when compared to a 5 Kryptonite New York Fahgettaboudit lock and chain, which goes for $120+, this is an outstanding value.
In the end, however, its lack of versatility makes it perfect for some, almost-but-not-quite for everyone else.

This lock weights about 3 pounds and it isnt that long. However, it seems very tough and looks like it would be tough to cut. I think the weight of the lock is worth carrying it.

my bike hasnt got stolin yet.. this thick heavy chane has been tryed to be cut by 3 thives.. thay failed.. it just to thick for them to cut... want to keep your bike?? get this chain..
