![]() Park Tool IB-3 I-Beam Mini Fold-Up with Chain Tool By: Park Tool Average Rating: 3.0 Total Reviews: 2 More Information No Phillips? Its commendable a tire lever & chain breaker are included, which gives it an extra star; but I see no reason why a Phillips bit was not included considering the fact deraileurs are adjusted solely by a Phillips. A complete set of hex bits is overkill if a major bit, such as a Phillips, is left out. A bike generally only requires three hex bits, not six or seven as this has. A Tweener I got this as a do-everything tool that would replace the separate mini-tool and tire levers I carry, plus add a chain tool. It does, but it is considerably larger and heavier than the IB-1 and larger than the IB-2 (which adds a T-25 Torx wrench, which is unnecessary for a road bike). So the question is whether carrying a chain tool is worth it to you, and for me, although I like the idea of having a chain tool, Ive never actually broken a chain after thousands of miles of riding. (And if you are a Shimano person and dont carry an extra pin, having a chain tool is useless.) I do like the Park mini-tools; this one just may be more tool than is necessary to carry IF you maintin your bike well. |
