Dont waste your time or money!     On: 2008-03-09

I have gone through 2 of these now. The first one lasted for about 5 or 6 workouts, then the watchband started to split! before the end of that day, the display completly went out on it. Sent it back to Nashbar, and received a 2nd one. Worked great for .... wait for it... about 6 workouts. then the watch stopped receiving a signal from the transmitter belt. I confirmed this by borrowing another heart rate monitor from a friend, and that one would pick up the singnal no problem.

Bottom line.. Junk! It is going back to Nashbar and I wont give SigmaSport any more of my $$$ or Business.
Great! HRM     On: 2008-02-28

The batteries lasted for 2 1/2 years (V good). It was used until the watch belt break away. Great for $75... a steal for $20! You can replace batteries on the watch and the emitter belt. You cant replace the batteries on the emitter on a similar priced ($75) Polar Model so when its dead you have to spend $40 more... so this HRM at this price its a steal. Has more features and exercise memories (7) than a similar priced Polar model (1). Knowing this product and for this price, I will replace gladly every dead battery. The menus and settings are fine when you get use to them, but it take some time. Has no back light (bad).
I had been frequently buying stuff from Nashbar (4 years now, and I just bought this HRM again) and always the stuff had arrived from 7 to 10 days by regular mail with no problems at all. Never had to use their customer support, so I cant say anything.

If you are new to HRMs ... it surely by far beats the $50+ one function Wal-Mart Polar Models... just... have to suffer the hassle of changing the batteries of a new HRM.

Do not buy this hrm     On: 2008-02-17

Got this hrm as a gift for my husband, batteries went out after 1 month and the batteries from the replacement from nashbar were already dead before I opened the package. Bad system, bad deal.
So-so HRM, so-so BikeNashbar service     On: 2008-01-07

First - service:
Shipping did not include tracing, and since I was away I had no idea whether or not the item has arrived. So I emailed Bike Nashbar - and they completely ignored my email. I had to use pretty strong language before they responded. I did not like their service at all.

Now to the HRM (compared to my other HRM - Polar M52):
- The Coach doesnt have backlight (I knew this before purchasing).
- Large display; includes % of max (good!)
- So far I failed to display HR + Time together.
- Perhaps this is because navigation and setting is rather complex.
- Most importantly: even when I sweat from head to tow sometimes the receiver (watch) doesnt get the signal from the transmitter, or it gets a totally false signal (like HR 221, or HR 37).
- Consumer-replaceable batteries of both transmitter and receiver (good!). I plan to replace both batteries - maybe this will have a positive impact on signal generation & reception.

Bottom line: recommended only if you budget is severely stressed, and then try to get it from another vendor, not BikeNashbar.
After the FOURTH one...no more     On: 2007-08-18

I bought this monitor online from Performance, and when it arrived, it was broken. The display was completely frozen up and no amount of button-pushing could make it work. So I took it back to one of Performances stores, and told them of the problem. They gladly let me have another one they had in stock. But as I walked out, I saw that the watch screen was blank. The battery was completely dead. So I came back in, showed them, and we both walked over to the display, and there were TWO more dead ones on the rack. Finally I found one in which the battery actually worked. I took it home, used it the next day, which actually went OK. But the following day, I tried to go for a ride with it on, and after 10 minutes, I could not get a reading. Played around with it for a while, but to no avail. So, after 4 tries, I had to just get my money back. Sigma Sport wont ever get any more of my business.

Wow....A great heart monitor.     On: 2007-06-26

Excellent product with the basic functions, including adjustable contrast, 3 zone alarm, sports type setting, 5 languages, min/max
heart rate, %in and out of target zone, calorie counter, stop watch. Easy to set up. Been using the unit for a year and a half and have been satisfied with features, reliability, and ease of use. Sigmas Fit Watch is the ultimate training tool for sport and fitness. Your can dial in your workouts with the customizable zones and alarm settings and review up to a weeks worth of workouts at a glance. You can even choose the fit test to determine your starting values and repeat it regularly to gauge progress. And, the current heart rate can be shown as a percentage of your maximum so you can quickly determine if your pace is right.
A great feature I like most is the "train time" session that can be set to automatically start at a chosen heart rate, then divide and record your session into "health, fitness and performance zones," measure calories burned, record average and maximum heart rates, and provide the option to record and monitor a 5-minute recovery time. All I do is push a button to turn it on, and when my heart rate reaches 100 bpm (my choice) it starts a session or you can press start to begin recording your heart rate manually at any heart rate reading. When Im done, I stop it and look at the detailed exercise analysis. So far (approx. 1.5 years), worked flawlessly every time. For the price, functionality and reliability, its a great choice.
