Best tail light to keep cars away     On: 2008-05-19

What I love about this light is that it is very visible and somehow freaks the cars out. I think it is the light pattern that really surprises them, they usually go completely in the other line to pass me. It might help that there are no many bikes riding at night where I live, but I feel much safer with this light.
Very bright, well designed and durable     On: 2008-05-16

this is the first rear light for a bike I have ever been completely satisfied with. Not only is the primary LED very bright, the flash pattern, which is the same used for aircraft strobe lights is very effective in drawing attention.

As for durable, I had the light connected to the back of my tool bag, which has a little strap for that purpose. The strap proved too flexible, and at a bit over 20 mph the light popped off the bag when I hit a pot hole. The light came apart from the force of the landing, and I expected it would be ruined. I collected the two parts of the light and the two batteries, one badly dented, snapped it all back together and it worked perfectly! That was three months ago, and it still functions great, no visible damage and still running on those same batteries.

By the way, planet bike makes a clip for this that bolts to the back of a luggage rack for five bucks. If you think youre going to need it, get it when you get the light and save yourself some shipping. Otherwise the shipping on the bracket will cost as much as the bracket itself.
in your face!     On: 2008-04-15

with the absurd blatantness in which i commute to work daily, its nice to know that this small and powerful light is causing the unobservant to sit up and notice. i feel much safer using this light, like wearing a giant cape with a "S" on it. i would, and have, recommended this light.
Bu BLAM!     On: 2008-02-22

You really cant miss with this. It has an unusual blink pattern that catches your attention and can be seen from very far away. Just dont look right at it because it is super intense bursting bright.

Easy to mount on the seat post, and once mounted, simple to remove and re-attach. Battery life seems pretty decent.

Definitely the one to get!
night fishing on a very busy lake     On: 2008-02-18

I use 10 of the Planet Bike Blinky Super Flash Tail Lights on my small row boat when I go night fishing on a very busy lake. Near dusk they work well and in darkness they are perfect for alerting fast moving speedboats, ski cycles and bigger boats to my presence. I use 2 when I Bike. I love the product.

bright     On: 2008-01-22

I commute through the city every day and this is a very bright light. I wish it was a little cheaper because I dont think the technology is quite worth $20 but I would definitely buy it again. The reason to have a rear tail light is so cars can see you. This light accomplishes that well, it flashes and is bright. Personally I wish they didnt even put the steady mode as an option, no bicyclists should ever use the steady mode. Ive only had it about a month and Im interested to see how well it stays together. Ive had problems with similar Planet Bike lights rattling apart and flying off the bracket on hard bumps. I use a little electrical tape to keep them together and on the bike.
The best tail litght in its price range     On: 2008-01-10

There may be better tail lights, but not in this price range. The only tail lights better than this one cost 100+USD.
It really surprised me so much that I bought a head light. The headlight was not as impressive as this tail light!
Very Bright for a blinky     On: 2008-01-05

Ive used many blinkies over the years. They all seem to fall off when you hop curb or something.

Anyway, this one costs a little more than many of the others but it is very bright. And for a blinky it has better side visibility than most. Which is important because you usually dont get hit from behind-cars often hit you when they turn into you.

I also love that it is made by Planet Bike which gives back to the biking community. Way to go Planet Bike.

This light is a good compliment to my night time lighting system which includes a planet bike led, two additional lower cost planet bike blinkies on my xtracycle and my trusty-very bright Down Low Glow. Best flashing light     On: 2007-12-12

I cycle commute at night and have tried a variety of flashing lights (Cannondale, Bell, other Planet Bike models). So far, all the LED lights are reasonably good and have a long battery life, but The Super Flash is noticeably brighter than them all. Cars seem to notice and veer around me, a comforting factor when cycling down a dark road. Ive even been using it in the daytime because some studies have shown a decreased accident rate on bicycles that have lights on all the time.

Outstanding. Bright and light. Adapts easily to different bike frames. Easily adjustable. A boon to safety. Ive bought three.
Super bright, great flash pattern     On: 2007-09-17

Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/RQYGQGQ4U1YUV This light makes my night and early morning rides feel a lot safer. The light is really bright, and has a very eye-catching flash pattern, as you can see in the video. I bike commute a lot, and have never seen a more noticeable light. Also notice that it is mounted on my helmet. It doesnt come with a helmet mount so I used a small elastic fabric band to attach. The tail light you see on my bike rack is a Night Rider 6v, powered by my water bottle battery. In case you noticed that I have a third tail light on my seat stem and are thinking Im some tail light nut, thats not the case. I dont use it and just havent bothered to remove it yet.
