Great Size, Poor Design

This bag is a great size for under the saddle of almost any bike. I wanted something to carry around tools and lights without the trunk rack or panniers. Capacity is good: I carried a Topeak Alien II, Cateye head and tail lights, and a couple of Brooks Nightlife elastic bands for about two weeks.

Then, the bag broke.

There is a plastic collar that snaps to the rails under the saddle held in place by two small plastic posts and a screw. Two of these three plastic parts snapped off while I was removing the bag after a morning commute.

I wasnt able to return the bag, and its telling that the current line of Cannondale accessories replaces the plastic collar with a hook and eye strap. This is an easy fix for when your Fast Bag slows you down, and the strap and a couple of screws will run you two or three dollars at your local hardware store.

Overall, its a good idea for a bag, but poorly designed and subject to failure. Look elsewhere if youre not inclined to make repairs on the product.
