![]() Jet Lites Phantom Single Beam w/ Smart Switch (22W) By: Jet Lites Average Rating: 5.0 Total Reviews: 1 More Information Bright as the sun I purchased this light for use with road commuting and also evening trail riding. I have used over approximately 8 hours with multiple trips ranging from 15 to 30 minutes on both roads and singletrack. I have charged and discharged the battery three times. Generally the middle light (17W) setting is fine for road or trail riding, and the highest (22W) setting lights the trail like daylight. I like the light better on the trail than road actually and find it provides all the light you need to feel comfortable. It is bright enough that drivers see it too. The light itself is very lightweight. I had a little difficulty attaching it to my helmet because of its vent pattern but it is rock stable and the cord exits through the back vent. The button is hard to turn on and off with winter riding gloves but easy with bare hand. The light gets quite hot (halogen). The battery is heavy but fits well in my camelbak. I have not tried attaching the battery to the frame or the light to the handlebar, although it came with a handlebar mount. The smart charger is easy to use. In short, I use this light every commuting day and am extremely happy with it. The light output is much greater than the usual dim lights costing less than $100. Although expensive, it is cheaper than putting gas in your car because you cannot see to ride your bike at night and much more fun. |
