![]() Bell FreeFit 15 Function Wireless Speedometer By: Bell Average Rating: 2.0 Total Reviews: 8 More Information Works great when set up properly I bought one last night and after studying the tiny pictures in the installation manual attached the wireless sensor to the fork backwards. Of course it didnt work properly. I looked at the pictures again and realized my mistake. Luckily it comes with extra zip ties so I remounted the wireless sensor correctly. After a test ride, it worked fine. The only problem is the small pictures in the installation instructions. Other than that, I like the functionality and features. The rest of the instructions for setup etc. were fine. returning it tomorrow! My husband and I purchased 2 of these this evening at Wal-Mart. My husband graduated with honors in electrical engineering and he played with this product for almost 20 minutes before he got it to work on his bike, using a stronger magnet we had from an old speedometer. we never could get it to work on my bike no matter how much we adjusted it - i will be returning both to wal-mart in the morning. good product I too purchased this product from Walmart. After minimal adjustment (<15 min), the product worked without a problem. The most important factor is adjust the magnet and sensor. Good luck! junk To be blunt, this is an inadequately designed device that does not work reliably. The magnetic sensor is too weak for robust operation, the wireless transmission range is too limited to be used with many common bike geometries, and the plastic cable ties provided are poor fasteners to use for securing the parts to a bike. In addition, the user manual has a crappy set of installation instructions. Buy something else. Bell Instruction Manual I encountered a loss of signal to the display after several weeks 0f good performance. I was stymied for awhile and ready to buy a different brand when I examined the transmitter and found that the magnet must be installed to line up with the (un-exed) arrow on the face of the transmitter. The instruction book doesnt address this necessary fact. It has worked fine ever since I made that adjustment. Get a better one I installed this on my bike and found it didnt work. I called the company and was told that the wheel and handlebar sensors could be no more than 18 inches apart. When I held the sensor closer to the wheel it worked, but my mountain bike has front shocks and I cant mount it any closer than 22 inches. Customer service was helpful, even if the product is useless. Save your money This is a ditto on the previous review. Bought it at Walmart. Installed it , did not work as advertised. I had to hold the receiver no further than 6 inches from the transmitter. I too though it could be the batteries so I bought two fresh ones with the same result. I am contacting the manufacturer on Monday. Dead on Arrival Purchased at Wal*Mart. I really wanted to like it, but it didnt work at all. Even bought new CR2032 batteries to make sure they werent dead. The transmitted simply would not pick up the signal of the magnet. I even put the magnet physically ON the sensor with no success and moved it back and forth manually. Save your money and invest in a Cateye Velo 8 for less money. |
