Avoid this at all costs

This repair stand is, without a doubt, the worst I have ever owned. It wont fit properly around any bicycle frame, except for maybe a childs bike. I tossed mine into the trash because I couldnt even give it away.

Sturdy stand that might work for your old bike.

I was really impressed with the weight and quality of this stand, relative to the price. All the pieces are machined well, the stand is sturdy, and the design is good.....except....it doesnt actually hold my bike.

I ordered this for my carbon fiber frame because my bike manufacturer recommends not using a conventional spring clamp against the frame, as the pressure may damage the frame.

I have a Kestral monocoque carbon road frame. This stand will not hold my bike. There are two clamps on this bike. The bottom bracket sits on the stand and a small T-clamp is supposed to screw in between the chain stays (from the top, down the middle of the two chain stays). On a carbon bike, the bottom bracket is beefier than a standard aluminum or steel bike, so this clamp doesnt work.

The second clamp is supposed to secure the downtube. But the clamp will not fit around the abnormal shape of my carbon downtube.

Im not saying its not a good repair stand. Im saying its not a universal repair stand. It doesnt fit on every bike. It may support your bike, if you have a round down tube, and a conventional size bottom bracket and chain stays.

It seemed like a cheap option for a bike stand. And thats what it is, a very cheap option.

So, I had to pay the initial shipping, I have to pay the return shipping, and I have to pay a 20% restocking fee. I guess Ill keep the stand to maintain my old bikes (the ones I dont ride anymore)!

Sturdy Stand for Selected Bikes

I bought this repair stand for my Kestrel Talon carbon fiber road bike. Because my bike frame has aero tubes, this bike bike stand will not support the bike. The clamp on this bike stand is supposed to support the bike on the downtube. It doesnt work on my bike.

Also, the downtube on my mountain bike is very thick (about 2"). This bike is also not supported by this stand.

If you look at the picture of this stand, you will notice that the clamp for the down tube attaches where most people mouth the water bottle cage. If, buy chance, your frame type is supported by this repair stand, you may need to remove the water bottle cage every time you mount the bike.

Otherwise, it might be a good bike stand for you.

Bad Product from a Bad Seller

This is a lousy repair stand. I have two bikes, a Kestrel road bike, and a Mountain bike. This stand does not support either bike.

The clamps on the stand that are supposed to keep the bike from falling off do not fit modern bicycle frames. Both of my current bikes have over-sized tubes, which are to large for this repair stand.

I previously submitted a poor, but honest, review of the product. The seller sent me an e-mail saying that he would refund my money if I would remove my negative commentary. I removed my bad review, but he never issued the refund. I consider this dishonest. In fact, it was a lie.
