Good bibs, great price     On: 2008-06-24

These Castellis are great for the price. The fabric is slippery and smooth, plenty supportive. It tends to squeak on the saddle when standing or sitting. The split shoulder straps seem a little odd at first, but they obviously dont bunch up like the wider straps on some other bibs. I am tall and thin and still dont have wedgie problems in the drops. The mesh chest panel is open enough to be breezy, but doesnt feel like a flimsy afterthought. The leg grippers are fantastic. They are silicone with only minimal elastic. There is almost no compression of your leg but they stay in place with no problem at all. The black on black scorpion design on the outside of the leg gripper is a cool touch. The KISS chamois is nice (especially at this price point) but likely not the best choice for super long rides. Anything three hours or less, though, and you should be fine. For a bit over a hundred bucks, I am very happy.
Decent bibs.     On: 2008-03-25

Castelli makes great products and uses nicer high tech fabric compared to PI, these are my third pair of Castelli shorts. The fabric and pad are top quality but the pair of bibs I received has some poor stitching. Some spots are starting to un-thread after the second wash. Upon inspection the chain stitch doesnt cover all the seems. Really poor for a $130+ pair of shorts. Its obviously a defective item but it should not happen on a pair of shorts at this price point.
