Very Secure & Heavy Duty!     On: 2009-10-05

I havent had any problem with this lock. I think you must be careful when setting combo or it may not be secure. Setting the combo was a little tricky. Just take time in doing it correctly. "No Problemo" I also like the added feature of the "Kevlar" reinforcement.
Smooth lock, but doesn't provide good protection     On: 2009-06-23

I purchased this when I got a new hybrid bike to lock it up at school because I ride to class every day. The combination was easy to set and the dials rotated freely and I never had an issue with them.

However, one day I locked my bike up to go running and when I came back the lock had been broken (apparently by someone using their bare hands) and my bike was stolen. The bike was locked up outside for at most 29 minutes because that was how long I ran to give you an idea of how quickly someone can break this.

Use this lock more for show then protection. If someone sees your bike locked they may not bother trying to steal it, but if they get up close and personal with the lock, I dont think it stands much of a chance.

As a side note, I contacted Bell about it and although they didnt have a guarantee on the lock (replace what was stolen due to lock failure) they replaced the lock for free without any hassle.

I would suggest using this lock in safe places to lock the bike since it is quick and easy to lock and use something a little more hefty in more sketchy places.
Do Not Buy This Product.     On: 2009-03-27

Buying this bike lock was one of the most poorest consumer decisions I have ever made. The first day I bought it I tried to set the combination and the lever broke off, making it permanently stuck at 0000. Soon after, the whole bike lock just fell apart. I opened it up and soon discovered that all the locks major components are made of cheap plastic. I am amazed that Bell would put their name brand on such an inferior product. People I urge you not to buy this cheaply made imported "bike lock" and tell these companies to stop flooding our markets with this cheap crap.
Changing Combo     On: 2008-10-13

If you have ever worked with a combination lock and feared that someone may have looked over your shoulder and taken a glimpse of your combination... worry no more!

This lock allows you to set your own four digit combination and when youre tired of the same number (and as long as you havent forgotten the last combination) you can change the combination to another number on the fly!

Someone was thinking!
