holding case lid, tools do not lock in place

The carrying case lid isnt attached to the case part, so Im afraid it might go missing someday. I got this as a gift for my boyfriend. He loves it. Definitely all the tools that you will ever need are there, however, it didnt come with any instructions or paper that gives you a clue about which tool is used for what (maybe thats my own problem lol). Also the tools dont lock in place, so it can be difficult to use if something is really stuck.

With this tool, a spare tube, and tire levels, I have everything I need to handle most repairs on the road, I have most everything I need for most repairs while on the road. I previously had a Ritchey compact tool that was a bit undersized and a Topeak mini tool that included a patch kit but was too small to be of any use when a repair was necessary. This Crank Bothers tool is just the right size and appears to have the necessary strength to make difficult adjustments. I just finished tightening up my crankset with it. With the previous multi tools, I would always have to use an allen from the toolbox to tighten up the crankset as necessary. But this tool did a fine job. It appears to have the same quality found in other Crank Brothers products.

Well.. to be honest, I thankfully havent even needed to use this tool on trail yet. However, I have made some minor tweeks with it to friends bikes, as well as my own when not in my shop.
Thus far, it seems to be solid. I like the slim overall profile of it. the case is nice, but probably not really needed.
The sides of the tool have some nice burling to them, providing a bit better grip when your hands are slippery from sweat/mud etc. The tool selection appears to be good as well - providing the needed wrenches, etc.
Overall, Im a pretty big fan of Crank Bros products, as Ive found them to be reliable.
Time will tell how this tool holds up, but so far so good.

Just what I needed

Great tool, also gets compliments when I use it. Comes in a cool flask-case. It fits perfectly in your pocket, and if you put it in your cargo pants/shorts pocket you dont even notice its there. It had almost everything I needed to put together my single-speed, but in reality its probably all Ill need for on-the-go repairs.

Great multi-tool. Lightweight and user friendly. Has all of the tools I need in the event of an on the road adjustment or basic maintenance of your bike at home. Would recommend as a "must have" for those of you who want to be able to make basic bike adjustments without spending an arm and a leg for a full tool kit.

Just what I wanted!

I was really trying to find the best combination of feature, size and price for a multitool to use on my mtb bike. This Crank Brothers unit seems to fit that bill perfectly! It may be a tad heavier than I expected but going by the numbers it is in line with most similar tools that have this many functions. The stainless case is really nice, making the tool a smooth addition to my bike bag.

Perfect tool for the road or trail

This fits perfectly in the tail bag and doesnt take much room if you dont put it in the case it includes. The spoke wrench may not work on bladed spokes (I have Mavic Ksyrium Elite wheels and carry a special 2 part Mavic spoke wrench). Im more concerned about bulk than weight since Im not out to race, but I want it all to fit in a small tail bag... When Im using my road bike I carry a spare tube, this tool and a spoke wrench and still have a room for a cell phone and wallet. When Im mountain biking this fits nicely in the small pocket of my Camelbak pack with all the other junk Im carrying (and dont forget the sunscreen!).

I bought this wrench because it has 2 different size philips and flat bladed screwdrivers as well as the usual sizes of the hex drivers. Most of the other tools out there only have a single size philips and bladed driver, and I hate stripping screw heads so I want to be at least close to the right size and having the 2 sizes gives me options.

I dont ever see this as a tool bench tool, its just too small and I have the right tools on the bench anyway. This is for emergency use, but Crank Bros has a lifetime warranty so if I do end up using it a lot or accidentally breaking it, its nice to know they will swap it out.

Everything you need on the road!

I bought this because my bike seat came loose an hour ride from my home and I basically had to stand while riding my bike all the way home. That will never again happen if I keep this tool with me! You only need to break down one time to realize that this is a must own item.

This multi-tool is the bomb and great for emergency repairs while on the road, especially the chain tool. Comes with a swanky steel case to store and easy to pop in a backpack or fannypack. Im very pleased and the quality of this multi tool is apparent just by the feel because it has a substantial weight for its size.

Really useful

Like many new enthusiastic of mountain biking, I started carring everything and fullfilling my camelback. Now, 8 months later, I only charge the escenthials and this one had the same relevance than my helmet. I had to use it several times and I am glad about the quality of the materials it is made (strong and light weight) and the selection of the tools incorporated is right. I will get two more for my family.
