These pedals seemed a little bit chinsy on first look, but after HEAVY riding this weekend I have changed my mind. I have been out of the loop concerning biking components, and I had never heard of Crank Bros. The "kid" at R.E.I. assured me that they are a well known company. My only advice would be to read the section of the instructions concerning the cleats. They suggest a setup that I found to be less than ideal, but after switching the cleats I was completely satisfied.
