Cheap, but gets the job done     On: 2010-06-24

This is not a great chain tool, but it works. Ive used it a few times now and the pin is starting to fall out. Light use is OK, but get something better for serious bike mechanic work.
Barely works     On: 2010-05-30

I used it on a standard one speed chain. Removing the chain pin was workable, but there were not enough threads to press the pin back in once I reassembled the chain. I needed to use another tool to push the pin in somewhat, and then I could finish pressing it in with the chain tool. The worst chain tool I have used. Not recommended.
So bad that it is almost comical     On: 2010-03-23

This thing literally disintegrated during its first use.
1. The chain holder ridge broke off like it was made of plastic rather than metal.
2. The rubber caps on the T-bar came off causing the T-bar to continually fall out - usually during the most critical time.
3. The pin fell out after one use due to a poorly fitting bushing. This meant I could only use the tool with the pin pointing up.
4. The knurled handle seems to unscrew on its own no matter how much I tightened it.

Amazingly I was able to install my bike chain - although I needed an extra pair of hands to keep the components together while turning the crank.

Take my advice - dont buy it.
Junk, Pure and Simple     On: 2009-07-29

Cheap, cheap, cheap. Came apart on me every time I used it. they dont make these things like they used to, except for them looking identical. Dont buy this if youre looking for a reliable, durable tool. Junk.
GOOD FOR REMOVAL TOOL     On: 2009-07-14

WORKED OK FOR REMOVING CHAIN. HAD A HARD TIME KEEPING IT LINED UP TO REINSTALL CHAIN PIN. WORKS FINE FOR ME ONCE I GOT USED TO IT. THIS IS COMING FROM A VERY NOVICE BIKER!!
Does the job and it's cheap     On: 2009-02-07

Needed a chain tool just to put on one chain and found my old tool rusted and seized. So needing a new one, I wasnt looking forward to paying a lot of money on something that is so rarely utilized. This chaintool for 6 bucks was cost effective and works perfectly. Seems to be built a lot better than the old tool I had.

Great Chain Tool!     On: 2009-01-18

This is the best chain tool ive ever gotten, the metal is pretty decent, not too cheap not too good, but very useful i got a broken bike chain and it worked perfectly nothing broke or anything and the packaging is very high classed. For this price i would totally recommend this product to people who broke their chain and more.I love this product!
Terrible     On: 2008-12-03

The handle unscrews as you turn the crank. The metal is cheap. The link holders broke off during normal use- in the first week of using it. The pin fell off too. It was actually funny to see a product fall apart all at once. Well... it would have been if I hadnt paid for it.
