![]() IRD F4 Riser Road/Mountain Bicycle Stem - 31.8 x 30 Degree By: IRD Average Rating: 5.0 Total Reviews: 2 More Information much better than some competitors' riser stems I needed a riser stem for my triathlon bike, and found that there are a number of very poorly made stems from some known companies. A primary problem I discovered is that some stems didnt sit squarely on the headset bearing - they would press on one side more than the other, sometimes by up to a 1 mm. Stems that had this problem included two Profile H20s, two Dimension stems (which also had uneven casting and soft alloy), and another stem (possibly Salsa) which I cant find the records for. Such a severe unevenness must be bad headset bearings, yet it is very easy to not notice the problem. IRD was unknown to me, but I was very pleased when I tried their stem. It is light weight and nicely cast. The nicely shaped four bolt cap clamps with conviction without feeling like it is distorting the handlebar. The only downside I can think of is a slightly tall stack height, but that is not unusual for a riser stem. Nice quality stem Nice quality Stem. The guys at BikeSomewhere were great. Fast shipping and great communication! Will use them again for future bike purchases. |
