![]() Burley Baby Snuggler for Burley Child Bicycle Trailers (2004-2009, Blue/Yango) By: Burley Design Average Rating: 3.5 Total Reviews: 4 More Information Makes exercising with your infant a breeze I was skeptical about the Burley Baby Snuggler based on the mixed reviews I read on this site. Still I ordered it, hoping to avoid purchasing a separate double jogging stroller with the birth of our second child. My daughter is 5-weeks old and today she had her first walk in our double Burley bike trailer, with my 3-year old sitting comfortable next to her. Although the product recommends it be used from 2 months and up, I decided to give it a try with my 5-week old. Both the top and bottom can be adjusted to make it fit more snugly around the younger infant. Her head was well supported and I didnt end up using the blanket I had rolled up for that purpose. I also made sure I reclined the back of the Burley as far as it would go so she was leaning back. She cried for the first 2-3 minutes of our walk, then fell soundly asleep for the duration of our trek. We stuck to paved roads and sidewalks for our first outing and I will avoid gravel as well as jogging until the baby is older. While her head does seem adequately supported, because shes only slightly reclined and is in more of a sitting position I think her head would bounce around too much on a very bumpy surface or a fast pace. The Baby Snuggler was very simple to install - basically you just loop the shoulder straps of the Burley through the snuggler and voila. I adjusted the snuggler first using one of my older daughters baby dolls, so there was less fussing to do after I put our baby in. The Baby Snuggler is the way to go to use your Burley as a stroller with an infant. Not perfect, but gets you going sooner It is true that the packaging says that youre not supposed to put your child behind a bicycle any sooner than without the snuggler, but we did anyway. We probably started using it to pull our child at about 2.5 or 3 months of age. We put a towel behind the bottom to recline it a little more and tried to prop him up a little from below, but all in all, it worked for us. He rode quite comfortably with minimal complaining. Were just really glad that this item exists in the first place so that we could get our baby behind a bicycle before a year of age!!! So just for that, it gets four stars from me. It may have seemed pricey at the time, but since weve had such a good time with it, Ive forgotten the price by now. Not worth the money This attachment does snuggle your young baby in the trailer but it doesnt work as well as it looks. In my trailer my daughter isnt nearly as reclined as the picture, nor does she look as comfortable. My husband and I have both fiddled with it but it still isnt as nice as we were hoping it would be. Its also very cumbersome to get baby in and out, there is no getting her in and out quickly. Needless to say we use it because it does snuggle her in and support her so she doesnt lean from side to side while going around corners (shes 5 months with great head control). I just wish it reclined more and was more user friendly. I think its way overpriced, considering it was as expensive as the trailer itself was (which we got on sale here on Amazon). Read the fine print! In all the advertising, we didnt see that this snuggler shouldnt be used to allow the stroller to be pulled by a bicycle any sooner. Once we received the snuggler, we quickly noticed on the packaging that it was labeled only for use with the jogger or stroller adapters, but not with the ski or cycle. For us, this became a waste of money. The snuggler can accommodate babies weighing as little as 15 pounds, but you have to stick to the original recommendations if you wish to use it with a bicycle. |
