Large Seatpost a Drawback for Quick Release Racks     On: 2009-11-01

Overall the Dahon bike is well built, easy to fold and unfold and a pleasure to ride. There is one big drawback if you plan to use a rack with this bike. The seatpost(BioLogic)is over an 1 1/4 inches in diameter(34mm)so any standard quick release seat rack will not be compatible. I believe the only rack that fits this bike is sold by Dahon(very convenient for them). Something to consider if you want buy a Dahon with the intention of using an existing QR rack. I also noticed on the Dahon website that they only post positive reviews.
Get a Clue! Updated...     On: 2009-10-29

Would be nice to know how many gears this bike has! How about listing maximum rider weight and other relevant information that seems to be insignificant to the riders safety.

I now see that they have indeed clarified, that their are indeed 24 gears for this bike. But they still have not clarified the maximum safe rider weight and I must ask myself why? When I originally posted the above comment, they didnt even tell you how many speeds the bike had. Yes, the model number is the MU P24, but is that a definitive explanation of anything? I have a Motebecane Super Mirage.... Does that mean that my bike is invisable or an optical illusion?

Dahon has a reputation of producing a fine product, but lets be more responsable with our sales approach to the valued customer. Once someone gets hurt, its then too late. What will the companys response be to that situation? Take a wild guess?

Its probably true that you may be able to find this information on the company website, but there is no valid reason to not post that information here.

Nice day bike     On: 2009-09-11

I previously had a mu p8. This one is pretty much the same, with an added 3x gear in the rear wheel. I have to say it makes a big difference, in both ends: big slopes and flat areas. Weight and the rest of the characteristics is pretty much the same. Really a nice bike for going to work, or even making over 30km per day.

Love my bike!     On: 2008-10-08

I live in a hilly area and the gear range on this bike really helps. with its low 21 inch gear, its more than adequate for sustained hill climbs. On the flats, Its surprisingly fast so its real fun to ride. the dual drive is great as well and the ability to shift at stops is a real plus. And what you get for the price in terms of versatility is the real deal here. You get the gear ranges and quality components of their highest end bikes in their mid price range so overall value is the bikes real asset. Oh, and it folds...way to go Dahon!
Quality bike for convenience     On: 2008-08-02

The MU P24 is a good quality folding bike that one may want to consider. The bike is smooth and silent during riding. But just be careful on the lower chain that is too low and might hit on the side curve of the path. the replacement is approx $S70.00
