I got this for my son and its his favorite sippy cup - its sturdy and BPA free. On: 2009-07-30
Ive tried everything, seriously, at least 8 different types of sippy cups and there was always something wrong with them. The soft spout ones like Born Free or Nubby get upended and squeezed/pulled on so my son gets the entertainment of water going everywhere, the hard but thin ones like the Munchkin or Tilty get bitten through, and most simply arent rugged enough for an active 15 month old that is just as likely to fling the cup as he is to drink. The Kleen Kanteen has the perfect spout. It doesnt leak, it comes with a backup spout, he cant chew through the plastic, and theres no BPA. The only things Ive noticed to be aware of are that because it is metal it sweats like crazy if you put a very cold drink into it, and maybe its just my kid but he tends to drink a few large gulps and then get a bit too much liquid and have to stop drinking for a minute to catch up (it seems easier to suck the drink out than other cups, so I think he needs to get used to it still). Anyway, Ive only had it for a day but I think Ive finally found the holy grail of sippy cups. I love that it has a backup spout and that the body is ready to stand up to what my kid can give it. If youre sick of spending money on cups that have some stupid design flaw then invest in one of these and if your kid is anything like mine youll be able to finally stop spending money on cups that dont work! Im so happy I took a chance on this one!
********EDIT! September 2009**********
Much to my disappointment I have to report that if I could give this fewer stars I now would. Sadly the connecting ring is made out of plastic and I have had to replace it TWICE due to my son tossing it out of a shopping cart or his stroller. It seems incredibly foolish to have such a rugged body with a dumb, cheap plastic connector. I want so much to love this cup because it really is spillproof, but I now have to find some other solution because of a poor design decision. Also foolish: they include two sippy spouts but only one connector. Also, the price of a replacement connector is absurd. I still give this 3 stars due to its spillproofness, and if you have something to attach it with to a stroller then maybe this is the cup for you. I just cant justify the price considering the flaw of the plastic connector. My quest for the perfect cup continues! On: 2009-07-30

I bought this for my 8 month old daughter. She can easily hold the cup and drink from the sippy spout. It is small enough to fit in the diaper bag and the avent adapter lets us use any of the other avent spouts that we already had. On: 2009-06-23
I was very pleased to find a sippy cup that doesnt use plastic and also uses Avent spouts, which my babies are used to. However, after a few days of use, I walked in to find one of my babies with paint flecks all over his face - he had chewed on the bottle and a large amount of pain had come off in his mouth! Not safe! We took it back to the store and they gave us another one and within a minute the same thing had happened. I am very disappinted as I wanted to love this product but if the paint comes off this easily it is not safe for use with an infant. On: 2009-06-19
I thought that I was finally going to have a sippy cup for my daughter that wouldnt leak. I was wrong. The vent hole in the Avent sippy nipple drips, even with the valve securely in place, AND when all parts are dry when putting together. I dont know why more people dont have this problem. I even tried using another Avent top (since it comes with 2) but it still leaked. Very disappointing.
On the flip-side, my daughter loved it! Although not being insulated is a bit of a drawback for holding. On: 2009-06-18
Bought 2 of these for my 3 and 1&1/2 year olds and they are great. I really like getting away from always using plastic sippys - they make everything taste like plastic and I am worried about them breaking down over time. These are safe, BPA-free and leave water tasting great. They dont leak and fit easily in the pocket of our diaper bag. They look great too and great colour choices. A lot of people comment on them. The only thing I would warn against is that they can be heavy when full so my younger child can just manage them but you would want to wait until a child is a little older to purchase. On: 2009-06-17
We have been using Klean Kanteens with both our daughters since they were about 8 or 9 months. The shape of the bottle provides for a nice grip even with small hands. Its not the easiest to clean, but thats no big deal. I find them to be very sturdy, also. On: 2009-05-09
Works perfect for my 1 1/2 year old and my 4 year old. Only caution is that the container is heavy when it is full and my one and a half year old likes to throw it. On: 2009-04-24
Excellent product with a few minor flaws. First, this is a great alternative to plastic cups and the longevity of the product makes the price worthwhile. After its life as a sippy cup, you can purchase a screw on cap and either an adult or a child will be able to use this bottle and continue its use. I purchased two bottles for my 1 yr old son (and a few larger bottles for the parents, so that my son could feel like hes drinking out of a bottle just like Mommys and Daddys). Overall, weve had a pretty successful experience with it.
The Drawbacks:
The main drawback was that the black ring cracked when my son dropped the bottle. However, Klean Kanteen, regardless of where you purchased the bottle, will replace parts free of charge (including free shipping) if something like that happens. The replacement ring cracked also when he dropped it another time. Klean Kanteen sent me TWO more rings and extra inserts and spouts, again at no charge to me. In addition, I had the replacement parts w/in days! So far, the replacement rings have not cracked at all, even when my son drops / throws the bottle to the floor.
The second drawback: when the bottle dropped, it dented, altho that dent is barely noticeable.
The great things about this bottle:
1. It does NOT leak for us at all! However, we are very certain to make sure all parts are tightly fitting together! If they are, no leaking!
2. You can use the white AVENT rings (that go around the baby bottles) and you can easily purchase more AVENT spouts (that come with AVENT sippy cups) and attach those to the bottle for extra caps/spouts. Event AVENT nipples work!
3. AVENT domes fit around the bottle! Thats great if you want to protect the spout during travel.
4. You can purchase other Klean Kanteen accessories for this if you like: carrying case, etc
5. Its eco-friendly!
6. It has a life long after your child will outgrow his sippy cup needs. Either an adult or a child / teen could use this afterwards. All you need is a screw in cap which you could easily purchase locally or online.
7. The stainless steel used is food grade and will not impart taste to the liquid inside the bottle.
8. The colors are practically scratch resistant! You have to try VERY hard to scratch the coating off these bottles!
9. The color choices are beautiful! I get compliments on my sons bottles and my bottle all the time! We have blue and orange for my son, and blue and black for the parents. The colors are fabulous, glossy and stunning. The orange is not as bright as I had expected, but its still very nice.
10. Great size for a child. Easy for my 13 month old to hold and drink out of.
11. My current rings have not cracked.
12. Excellent (5 STAR) customer service. I cannot say enough things about this company!
I highly recommend this product. Its not without flaws, but Klean Kanteen is so awesome to work with that I can forgive any mishaps!

We ordered one of these for our 15 month old son after we had switched all of our own water bottles over from plastic. We love it. It is the best sippy cup he has. All of the other sippy cups we have for him seem to leak. It is also very easy to clean. We will definitely be buying more of these. On: 2009-01-03
I had gotten my daughter a FOGO sippy, and loved it, but then I saw these and got her one. She LOVES it, and I love the fact that she isnt being poisoned with BPA or PVC. I love the fact that it is interchangeable with a sports cap also.
I love the companys policies on the environment, their products and their commitment to both.
I was so happy with hers that I got the big ones for hubby and I.
We LOVE THEM!!
My daughter loves the fact that it is pink and makes her feel like a big girl. On: 2008-12-06
more durable than sigg and is even dishwasher safe... love it and so do my kids. i have not had leaking problems, but you do have to make sure you completely take apart the avent lid to clean it or else it gets gross (and this may help cause leaks?)
ive tried them all and this is the only one i would buy again. On: 2008-11-23
When I put anything cold in the sippy the outside immeditely becomes way too cold to hold onto. And Im not talking about ice...I mean milk from the refrigerator. I also put some barely warm milk in it and the outside was way too hot for even me to hold. Not what you want in a sippy cup. I have large stainless steel thermos containers and the outsides are not affected by the temperature of the liquid..It also leaks from the seal of the spout. On: 2008-11-11
I got the Klean Kanteen Sippy for my 1 year old because she kept wanting to drink from my larger one with a loop cap and spilling water all over herself. She loves to carry it around and has no problem holding it to drink from it. There are only two minor problems--firstly toddlers love to throw drink cups so its got a couple of character dents and secondly the Avent sippy seal portion has to be cleaned regularly. (A limitation of sippy-type cups in general.) On the plus side, the Avent spout can be easily replaced if damaged and in a couple of years I expect Ill be able to switch to a sports cap. On: 2008-11-06
i was under the impression that i could use a spout with it as well but it doesnt seem to work. very annoying since the life of this very expensive bottle will be very short!
On: 2008-10-31
This sippy cup leaks everywhere. The Aventi spout has a little air hole that allows all types of liquids to leak out and get all over the place. Its unfortunate that this expensive sippy cup doesnt compare with less expensive brands. On: 2008-10-21
I have been very happy with the Klean Kanteen sippy cup. My 16 m.o. daughter has no trouble drinking from it and she doesnt have trouble holding it, which was a concern since it doesnt have handles. I feel so good about the fact that it is stainless steel and not plastic. It dishashes up perfectly and is ready to go. I bought 5 of the 12 oz canteens so I can send them to school in my other 2 childrens lunch boxes.
