The directions suck though. Lacing them in can be tricky. Nothing on the package but a website link that led to very unclear directions. The laces are so great I would use them as my "stocking stuffer" this year, but not until I have time to draw up my own instruction sheet, using the steps outlined below. The first shoe lacing can be a real pain, but when you get to the second shoe it will seem easy. Then you will start replacing the laces in all of your shoes. Does Goodwill take used shoe laces? 1. Hold the laces with the large plastic clip facing down. Pull a loop about 1/2-2 inches out, and lock the clip to hold the loop by pushing up on the center plastic strip. 2. Still with the logo facing down, start at the top of the shoe (by your ankle) and lace down to the bottom (if you have those little tabs to help hold the shoe tongue up, make sure that you lace through those as well.) 3.) Once you have finished lacing down towards the toe of the shoe, hold the other little plastic clip with the wide base of the triangle towards the toe of the shoe. The grove in the little clip should be facing up. Put each lace through a hole on the wide end of the triangle and head them back up towards the top of the shoe (your ankle)again. 4.) Pull each lace sharply out to the side to lock them into the little clip. 5.) Go back to the loop at the top clip (near your ankle) and pull that loop down to the little clip. The top loop will fit in the groove of the little clip. The logo should then be facing up, and the top loop should stretch a bit to fit into the little clip on the lower loop. 6.) Now the try the shoes on and tweak a bit until they are comfortably tight, but you can still easily slide the shoes off. 8.) Take the laces that are sticking out at the bottom, and just tuck those loosely into the side of the shoe (under the sides that are laced.) 9.) VERY IMPORTANT, wear the shoes for a few days and make sure that they fit comfortably. If not, adjust as needed. 10.) Once you are sure that they are fit correctly, you can cut the end laces to make them shorter (but still long enough to tuck about 1/2 inch into the shoe sides.) 11.) Before you tuck the cut laces, I would suggest that you paint each cut lace end with clear nail polish, and let it dry to prevent unraveling. Extremely disappointed I bought these for my daughter who does not seem to keep her shoes tied. The directions were easy to follow, but tucking the ends into the shoe did not work well so they always stuck out and looked like mouse whiskers on the shoes. The bottom clip fell off after a day, but was found and fixed, but within a week of getting these shoelaces, the clips have fallen off and gotten lost making them useless. These are not a very good product in my opinion, and a waste of my money. The best triathlon laces... Although I thought they were tough to figure out at first once these are in my shoes I am sold. These laces are the first thing I put in any new pair of running or triathlon shoes. I am assured of quick transitions and can run barefoot in my shoes without worrying about whether my laces are going to bind or be too tight or too loose. Comfortable I bought these for half and full ironman triathlons im doing this year, and after a few runs I can say that they are just as comfortable and supportive as normal laces. It takes some tinkering to get the tension just right (dont clip and burn the ends until you know its the correct tension!). Best invention since concrete These laces might not be for kids who play with little things (shoe laces can be tied tightly) - but anyone past that stage should be wearing these because they really are amazing. No tripping on laces in tennis, no laces getting caught up in your bike, nothing dragging in the mud and you never have to tie a lace again. I dont know why sneakers dont come with these and leave the string laces as the alternative. You get a better and a more consistent fit throughout the life of the shoe. And much better quality than "speedlaces". Yankz Loved them. I had massive shoulder surgery and could not tie shoes of any kind. I love to exercise and was told to walk" only. The product allowed me to do what I could regarding exercise and not have to tie my shoes! Thanks soooooooo much! Danny Shell Swansboro NC The perfect combination of lace-up and slip-on I found that that these laces were a wonderful addition to my gym shoes. My shoes stay on firmly and, after adjustment, not too tightly. The presence of the tongue in my shoes means that they arent as easy to put on as regular slip-ons but the time saved through not having to tie the laces more than makes up for this. The one downside that I have is that hiding the left over laces at the bottom of the shoes is not that easy. Either the lace ends slip out or they end up in uncomfortable positions within the shoe. I have not put in much time trying to solve this problem but I am sure that with the right placement and a little tape this can easily be overcome. |
