I recently installed a new Specialized S works carbon seatpost on my bike, a CF roadbike. On my 1st ride I noticed a pretty loud creaking sound coming from the bike somewhere. Initially I thought it was the handlebar stem but soon realized it was coming from the seatpost area.

After my ride I cleaned the reinstalled the seat and retorqued the seatpost collar. Still creaked, I determined the sound was coming from the seatpost and bike frame. I cleaned out the seat tube, and applied a coating of FSA carbon compound to the seatpost and tube, torqued as specified and creak is GONE! Buy some try some. It also prevents the post from slipping down, use can back off a bit on the torque and protect that expensive seatpost.
