Not bad at all     On: 2009-06-30

I ignored the many reviews elsewhere that complained about the poor instructions that came with the unit because I had successfully installed many cyclecomputers in the past, despite poor instructions. As it turned out, somebody with clout must have been reading the reviews because the instructions that came with my unit were the best I have seen come with a low-medium priced cyclecomputer (I know thats not saying much). Astoundingly, I didnt have to fish for the English version because thats all there was. I dont think Im being chauvinistic because if I had bought something in Lower Slobobia, I would expect the instructions in Slobobian.

The only fault I could find with the installation instructions was that they omitted mention of what to do with the rubber shims supplied. Relying on my past experience, I had no trouble.

The only trouble I had setting up the unit was getting confused with the duel setup, i.e., separate setups for two different wheel sizes. But that was only because by that time I had become over confident and neglected to consult the instructions. Once I did, it was simple.

I found the unit to be simple to setup and use; and it seems to have more functions than I am used to in this price range.

I found no problem with interference, at least in the first 10 test miles riding around town. At this point, I cant evaluate its long term reliability.

The reason I didnt give the unit 5 stars is I did not find out until I received it that the spec for the maximum range between the sending and receiving unit is only 24 inches. That prevented me from installing the computer on the handle bars of my Dahon folding bike, or on either of my road bikes for that matter. I solved the problem by installing on the Dahons very low bottom (and only tube). I suspect this may be why other reviewers elsewhere claimed they could not get the unit to work.
