I bought this bottle because I was not keeping myself hydrated enough through the course of the day. Now I carry my Nalgene everywhere, every day. It has numerous scratches on the outside from camping trips and being tossed around in cars and coolers, but the bottle is evidently nearly indestructable. The cap loop allows you to carry the bottle with one finger when your hands are full. About once a week I put about a tablespoon of bleach and some hot water in it, loosen the cap, invert it in the sink, and let the mouth of the bottle soak. Excellent piece of gear. On: 2009-07-21
5am...Im ready to leave for work, and I feel like a glass of milk, well its kinda hard to take that along in a glass...well until now!
This bottle is perfect for everything, water, milk, juice, and the best part? You can add loads of ice thanks to the wide-mouth opening. Its also perfect for shaking up a protein shake, or even your favorite powder drink mix!
I ordered a second one to keep in my car, for those forgetful days. The loop top, is also great...no need to worry about losing it. On: 2009-07-06
Ive been using this bottle for about a week now, and I have no complaints. As others have reviewed, Nalgene is a good sturdy brand. There is no plasticy flavor that accompanies your water. Very easy to wash b/c of the widemouth.
I can freeze my juice in there without any problems. Nalgenes website indicates that the bottle can take up to -40 F, and 212 F for hot liquids (tho I have yet to try putting in hot liquid).
It also fits into the cup holders in my car. However, I wouldnt recommend movement while drinking. B/c of the wide mouth, its relly easy to spill on yourself when youre in motion.
I went to a BBQ over the weekend, and this bottle was perfect. It was small and lightweight. In addition, I didnt confuse my beverage with anyone elses red plastic cup b/c I bought my own bottle. Plus, its just really cute so thats a complete bonus!! To emphasis how much I like my bottle, I hoped on-line two days ago and ordered 5 more bottles from Amazon (same size as this one but different colors). I highly recommend!! On: 2009-07-04
i bought this after a bad xperience w/ a stainless canteen which smelled so bad i couldnt use it. this BPA-free plastic bottle is great. its pretty, its clean, the lid is nice cuz it doesnt fall off like the one on the stainless canteen did. mouth of the bottle is wide enuf to put ice cubes in. easy to clean. although the bottle is a bit too fat to fit in the drink holders in the car, i wud definitely buy this again and recommend it to anyone. I was so happy to find out that Nalgene came out with a new formula. I had to replace 12 Lexan bottles and these are a very close substitute. I like these so much better than metal water bottles. Nalgne now has the narrow mouth Tritan bottles as well. On: 2009-06-16
I like that the bottle is BPA free, and the cap is secure. It holds a lot of liquid as well. Im not as crazy about the wide mouth, but it does make it easier to clean. Doesnt fit in a lot of cup holders either. On: 2009-06-07
This bottle is a trooper. Ive had it almost a year and Ive put it through some rough stuff. Its taken a beating but is still holding together fabulously. I was worried that I would break the loop that keeps the lid attached but that is tougher than it looks and shows no sign of breaking. Its reusable, BPA-free, and I love the color--whats not to like? Even the milliliters markings on the outside are durable--theyve had their share of abuse but are still legible. I suspect Ill be using this until someone discovers something toxic about Tritan plastic...
My only caution about this bottle is that it did take about 8 thorough hand-washes before I got rid of the nasty plastic after-taste that is present in all new water bottles. Also if I leave water in it for more than about 24 hours itll start to taste faintly plastic-y. But thats the case with any water bottle no matter which plastic its made from. On: 2009-06-02
The Nalgene everyday water bottle is a great product. The Nalgene water bottle holds 32 ounces of water with out the plastic after taste, it is a very good buy. Great for every day use. On: 2009-05-27
Title says it all. These are great bottles for using anywhere. They are very durable and easy to use. On: 2009-04-29
Im very happy with this water bottle. Buy the insert that goes in the mouth of the opening. I like the fact this is BPA-free.
If you have smaller hands, buy the Camelback bottle. This bottle is fine though and I use it daily.
I recommend this bottle to others. On: 2009-04-21
This water bottle has finally taken me out of the ranks of evil bottled water users. I carry it everywhere! And the mouth is wide enough to fill with ice from my fridge dispenser. On: 2009-04-21
A smallish water bottle that is made in the USA and BPA free. What more could you ask for? Great product. On: 2009-04-11
ive been using Nalgenes for years and finally decided to upgrade to a BPA-free bottle. The bottles are exactly as they appear and the normal high-quality and high-durability of any nalgene. buy yourself a nalgene splash guard to making drinking easier and youll be good to go. On: 2009-03-31
I bought this for my wife who wanted a pink water bottle. Since we already own quite a few other 1-liter BPA free Nalgene bottles and love them, it was a no-brainer to get another one for her. She thinks it is cute, so it gained me some husband points for having good taste.
Nalgene knows how to make a water bottle. The lid seals tightly, the plastic is high tough (and BPA free) and the design functional. Plus its cute.
Recommended. On: 2009-03-30
This is my first Nalgene bottle and may be my last--but only because of how durable they seem to be. The wide mouth is great for holding under the icemaker and just letting a few cubes fall in, followed by clean water from my Brita pitcher. A great way to be "green"--no more plastic bottles rolling around in the back of my car waiting to be recycled. And cheaper than bottled water--by a lot. I like that Ill never lose the cap too. You do have to be careful in the car with the wide mouth, but wouldnt it be better to wait for a red light to drink anyway? Highly recommended. On: 2009-03-15
I have the old Nalgene bottles that killed me to throw away but BPA free is huge when expecting a little one. The bottle was delivered promptly and is a great water bottle. On: 2009-03-11
I needed a water bottle with measurements on the side and this was it. Wide Mouth was an added feature.
Another fine purchase from Amazon.com and its member dealors. On: 2009-01-20
I ordered this because it is BPA free to replace my old one. I bought both the green and blue. They are just as good as the old ones and I have found it just as durable.

With atheletes in the family, we use our water bottles regularly. We had the traditional Nalgene bottles but wanted to avoid the toxicity issues when those get hot. The BPA free bottles are ideal -- indestructible, reusable and extremely portable. We even had one that survived being backed over by a car! The 16 oz size fits in cup caddies and water bottle holders on gym equipment. On: 2009-01-06
Not terribly much to say here: its a water bottle. However, its also a BPA-free Nalgene bottle, which means it stores water all day without taking on any plasticky odors or flavors. This is definitely a "desktop" model - it is stout in build, and when full, quite heavy. Choose a smaller size for portability. This one sits on your desk - use it to refill 3 small pint glasses and stay hydrated! On: 2008-12-28
It arrived on time and good shape. It was the right product that was BPA Free. On: 2008-12-20
This is the second Nalgene Tritan wide-mouth water bottle that I have purchased on Amazon. Hands down this is truly the best BPA free water bottle in terms of its holding capacity, ease of use & cleaning. Closes tightly and has never leaked. A great bottle at a great price! On: 2008-12-06
This nalgene bottle is great. I wanted one that was BPA free. Its everything that the product description was. Durable, easy to clean, does not absorb odors. I use it every day. On: 2008-10-02
I am furious about this product. I purchased 3 and am now stuck with them. My husband accidently knocked it off a table and it shattered like glass. This was the very first time he used it! Durable, I dont think so!! The whole reason to buy Nalgene is for its durability, this new material just does not hold up. On: 2008-09-25
Ive used Nalgene brand water bottles for about 10 years now and Ive never had any complaints. The bottles are sturdy (I sure have dropped mine a lot!) and they are easy to clean in the dishwasher. However, I was recently concerned when the potential dangers of BPA were discussed in the news. I had decided to replace my trusty Nalgene with a stainless steel bottle when I saw that Nalgene now made a BPA-free bottle.
The BPA version is just like the old Nalgene, but safer. No complaints other than the fact that all of the different sizes and shapes of bottles that Nalgene used to offer are not available in the BPA-free versions. Im sure theyre coming--but this bottle will do for now. On: 2008-09-14
Got this due to it being BPA free- Was expensive but I am a big water drinker ( fill up about 5 times a day ), so I like to think I am not hurting my body getting my water in.. Only downfall is how expensive they are, but I am satisfied! On: 2008-09-09
I like my bright green, 32 oz Nalgene water bottle. The lid is attached, and cant be lost. I fill my bottle with purified water, at least twice a day, and sip on it all day long. I never use ice or hot water. The bottle has a loop, so I can hook it to my finger, and away I go. I also have a smaller, bright pink, Nalgene water bottle, that I stick in my purse.
Its important to clean the bottle often, so it wont get sour.
I am so glad I went this direction! Think of all the small bottles of water I dont have to buy. And all the bottles that dont need to be recycled.
The only thing I dont like is, with the wide mouth, I often get a dribble, down the front of my blouse.

Ive been using this a few weeks so far, and it seems very sturdy. I attach it to my bag with a carabiner and have seen no signs of breakage while hiking with the bottle. I love that the bottle doesnt leak, and its a BPA-free product (good for me, good for the environment). Plus, I have not noticed any unusual smell/taste while drinking from the bottle (unlike most reusable plastic bottles), but I have not tried hot beverages in it yet. The wide-mouth IS very convenient for ice cubes and cleaning. Highly recommended! On: 2008-09-04
Its great that its BPA-free. Good call from Nalgene.
But Im utterly mystified about this bottles design:
1. The "wide mouth" is so wide that you cant drink from it without pouring the contents all over your chin and chest. Forget about sipping from this bottle in the car. Also, the edge of the opening is sorta sharp...for a drinking container.
2. The bottle is too wide to fit into a standard auto cup holder (its about the width of a wine bottle), so its probably too wide to fit a bicycle bottle holder. Who thought THAT was a smart design decision??
3. The rubber cap holder has to be MANUALLY held down whenever you sip from the bottle; if you dont, you get dinked in the face with it. On top of that, the bottle is so wide that you end up having to use TWO HANDS just to drink from it!!
Wow, Im really unimpressed.

I love my Nalgene! I have never put hot liquids in mine, but I love that its easy to put lots of ice in it, and with the little sipper accessory you can buy its fantastic b/c the ice dam never breaks & you can drink it while youre driving and not worry about getting wet. Ive had mine for 2 years now & still using the same 1! I have a spare, just incase this one breaks or gets lost. I find them VERY sturdy b/c Ive droped mine a bunch of times & its never cracked. Its fallen off the top of the car, out of the car, my 4 year old has dropped it. I think its virtually indestructable. My sister has the Sigg bottle & its dented in several areas (whatcha expect from alumunm?) Anyway I like my Nalgene better than her Sigg, and mine was less than 1/2 the price of hers! On: 2007-09-27
This bottle is an essential part of my backpacking gear. Its virtually indestructible and doesnt leak. I use it to mix my pancake batter - add the mix, water and shake. I then just pour the batter in the pan right from the bottle. Also, my Katadyn Hiker Water Microfilter is made to connect directly to the wide-mouth bottle opening so it filters and pumps directly in to the bottle. Great product! On: 2007-06-10
I recently bought some of these colorful polycarbonate containers to take hiking, and they worked great. I was blissfully unaware that Nalgene got its start making lab cages and other labware. Then for no discernible reason I decided to search the net for more information on polycarbonate (Nalgene and Lexan are trademarks for products made from it) and now Ive decided to go back to the good old polyethylene containers hikers have used for decades. Heres why:
Mounting evidence strongly suggests that Bisphenol A (a compound that leaches from polycarbonate into foods stored in polycarbonate containers like those trademarked Lexan or Nalgene) is a pervasive human endocrine disruptor with many seriously adverse health effects even at tiny doses far less than those permitted under current US regulations. For more information, read about Nalgene at wikipediadotcom or ourstolenfuturedotcom (Ive written the addresses this way to avoid Amazons link-deletion robots, but Im sure you understand).
