Excellent, sport-tough bottom bracket for my Mongoose

The Shimano bottom bracket is excellent. I needed to replace my old one because the thread holding the pedal arm on had become stripped. That happened when my sons 320-pound buddy rode my Mongoose sx 6.7 mountain bike. Somehow.

The item arrived in about three days. The directions were unambiguous. I only needed to borrow a special tool from a buddy, and the job was completed and cleaned up in less than 30 minutes.

The big boy has ridden again a number of times in the past two months; no sign of wear at all. I ride it myself on weekends. This seems to be one of those mythical "bullet-proof" mechanical Shimano items weve heard about! Great price ($26!!), easy installation, high quality. Perfect.

Shimano UN26 - smooth action, plastic part

I bought this bottom bracket as a replacement for original equipment on a Diamondback mountain bike. I noticed that despite my effort to match the dimensions, the bottom bracket wouldnt thread fully into the bike but I dont fault the product for that and in any case functionally it works just fine.

The action of the bottom bracket is very smooth. The plastic cup included with the product got a bit beat up as I tried to install it, so I ended up keeping the original metal cup from the original equipment bottom bracket. I would have preferred a metal cup.

Overall, based on the Shimano brand and reasonable price, I would purchase the item again and so far it is performing well.

only one nut included

Product was what was expected, and shipment was fast.
There was only one nut included though - not sure why, Ive got two pedals and two legs.
It either should be two nuts or no nuts at all.
The description doesnt say that no nuts provided though, does it?
So I had to go to LBS and buy the nuts, could as well buy the BB there as well and not bother with Amazon and Niagara Works.
