Great short for mountain unicycling     On: 2010-01-27

Im a newbie mountain unicyclist and while Ive never felt the need for bike shorts while doing regular distance rides on my unicycle, by the second trip down the mountain my thighs were chafed and bloody. No good! After doing a little research I stumbled on these. Ive never owned a pair of bicycle shorts and the idea of wearing something form fitting on my skinny little frame didnt seem like it would be very appealing for any observers, and these promised to be baggy, so I bought them.

Im a 28" waist so I ordered the small, and they fit very snugly, but are not uncomfortable in any way. The padding is great. "Baggy" is subjective, as the small size on my 6" frame stops a bit above my knee, so people self-conscious about their knobby weird looking knees like myself are out of luck. Otherwise they shorts effectively mask the padded lycra shorts underneath. Over all Id say the design of these shorts are great... I love the crotch zippers, as when youre sitting on the unicycle with them unzipped they fan open like little mesh covered vents, probably catching some air while youre riding.

The shorts themselves made a BIG difference in my ride... No chafing! No discomfort during extended rides! Simply excellent! I kind of wish I had two pairs.
no elastic     On: 2009-10-30

cut out the elastic in these shorts and now I love them....a little tight fit.
Nice shorts/Bad sizing chart     On: 2009-09-28

Been commuting for several years and did not use biking specific shorts. Have retired and am putting on lots of miles. I finally broke down and decided to give cycling shorts a try and decided on the baggy type. Shopped at several bike shops and REI. Bought one pair at REI and two of these. These are great shorts as are the REIs but the price difference is huge. And what a difference in comfort cycling shorts make, I am sold. Only one complaint. As other reviewers have noted the sizing chart is bad. I bought large and almost cant get them on even though on the chart large matched my waist size. I am going to purchase two more but will definetly buy a larger size.
Nice shorts!     On: 2009-09-11

Decently constructed shorts with 2 venting zippers in front. Huge diaper-like chamois offers lots of protection. Sizing is a little tight, order your true size. Side mesh pockets. Length of shorts is good, just above the knee. Great deal for the price ($50).
Great shorts sized small     On: 2009-09-09

I agree with the positives reviews here. Great quality. Internal hidden spandex legs and padded liner that is all invisible. They look like regular cargo shorts. Lots of great zippered and velcroed pockets. I wear a 36 waist in jeans and the large is too tight, so Im buying a second pair in extra large. If you want bike pants features without the sausage look, this is it.

Great non bulge producing padded cycling shorts     On: 2009-09-01

As advertised these shorts offer the protection you need in your most personal of all places without the embarrassing bulge. I am a road biker but prefer these off road style shorts. They have nice zippered pockets as well as a couple small mesh type pockets. The two zippers in the front add a little extra ventilation. They ran a little small but my return for size was handled perfectly. I even got a cool sticker to slap on my bike. Yes, I recommend buying these shorts from this company.
Great shorts     On: 2009-08-12

comfortable, lots of pockets, and you dont feel like a circus performer in tights. I wore these last week over a swimsuit for the running and biking legs of a mini-triathlon, and had no problems. I havent had much experience with bike shorts, but these improve comfort and largely eliminate pain and numbness on rides of up to 2 hours -- and that seems to be the point. They run a little small -- I bought a size larger than I would normally wear in shorts, and they fit fine.
A Great Bike Short     On: 2009-05-29

I dont consider myself a hardcore biker, however I do commute to college five days a week and enjoy 20-50 mile bike trips on the weekends. This is my first pair of biking shorts, so I dont have much to compare with, but wearing these shorts makes a big difference. The padded cushion definitely makes it easier to sit longer without getting sore. The pockets are also very nice, as I was easily able to carry my cellphone and apartment keys without any problems. My favorite part about these shorts is the fact that you can walk around in public without announcing to the world that you enjoy wearing skin tight biking pants. Also, the cushion is hardly visible.

Initial reviews online claimed the short sized were smaller than expected, but a large fits very well around my 33" waste. The length is also good.

Overall a good short, highly recommended.
